Story
"LOVE HEALS" Reishi, an 11-month-old neutered Dachshund mix, has overcome incredible adversity to become the loving companion he is today. Rescued from a Tennessee hoarding case, Reishi's early life was marked by neglect, isolation, and overcrowding. Reishi's start in life was far from ideal. Reishi's fosters have witnessed remarkable growth, and he's now ready for a forever home where he'll continue to blossom as a loyal and loving friend. Reishi is truly a remarkable boy. Initially, he may require gentle interactions, avoiding sudden movements, and close proximity. However, once he's deemed you safe, Reishi's true personality shines: happy, goofy, and affectionate. Consistent training, and socialization will help Reishi build trust and confidence.  With his unique long legs, courtesy of his Min Pin mix heritage, Reishi loves to run. He thrives around dogs, forming instant bonds, outdoor adventures, walks, and playtime.. Older kids (8+) who respect personal space are ideal, while Reishi's curiosity requires a cat-free home. This intelligent pup is always eager to learn and please, treat-motivated, and thriving on positive reinforcement.  By adopting Reishi, you'll not only gain a loving companion but also provide a second chance at a happy life.  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2083262##

Story
Meet Madeline, a female dachshund/small terirer mix puppy born to mama Snickerdoodle on 9/22/24! Snickerdoodle (18 lbs) was picked up as a stray in East TN when she was heavily pregnant. Paws Rescue League took her into rescue and placed her into a loving foster home, where she gave birth to 7 puppies (the Cookie litter) shortly afterwards. Sadly, only 3 of the 7 puppies survived. Madeline is a typical happy, playful puppy who loves everyone! Good with dogs, cats, people, and kids. Young puppies are like blank slates who, with appropriate training and socialization, will grow into wonderful dogs. Madeline and her siblings are arriving in New England soon, and we are accepting applications on them now! We work hard to match each dog to the best home for them. Apply to meet this sweet girl today! Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Story
Meet Snickerdoodle, a sweet 2-3 year old female doxie/small terrier mix, weighing about 18 lbs currently! Snickerdoodle was picked up as a stray by animal control in east TN when she was heavily pregnant. Paws Rescue League took her into rescue and placed her into a loving foster home, where she gave birth to 7 puppies (the Cookie litter) on 9/22. Sadly, only 3 of the 7 puppies survived. Snickerdoodle has been a wonderful, loving mama to her babies, but her mama days are now behind her, and she is ready to head north to find her furever home!  Snickerdoodle is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how she would do with cats.  She is medically up to date (will be spayed prior to adoption), crate trained, and working on housebreaking. Apply to meet this sweet girl today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application/ We must have an application to move forward. (Shayne's Rescue is an affiliate with PetCentralSATX). If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. SHELBY is probably a Dachshund… mixed with a Terrier. DOB: 4/1/24. She currently weighs 20#s and we expect she may get up to 22-24# maximum. She is fun and very happy. She loves playing with the other dogs and leaves my cats alone. She loves to lick…her way of giving affection. She is almost house trained… working on it. She walks on the leash and stays quiet in the kennel. She loves playing with toys and her favorite is an empty water bottle that crackles and makes a lot of noise. She will be good for a family… with older children. I have not had her around very small children. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you'll have the opportunity to find out more from the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at petcentralsatx@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Adoption Fees The adoption fee includes transportation to the NE. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Also, one application is good even if you are interested in several different dogs...one application no matter which one you choose. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.
