Story
Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video.

Story
Welcome Sig to CCPAL Rescue foster program. Sig is a 1.5 year old Chiweenie. He is very friendly and bonds deeply with a single person. He weighs about 12 pounds and is full grown. He is good on a leash, good in a crate, good with cats and dogs. Sig also will use the doggie door to go outside. He does his business outside. He is currently in foster care waiting for his forever home. He will make some lucky family a great companion. He would be a great walking companion. He is lively and energetic despite how calm he is in the video. He lives with a dog much bigger than himself and he does great with her. He isn’t too vocal and a nice little dog. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get Sig to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. He would be fine in a home with a moderately active family and children would be fine. We like them to be 8 or older. He is going to bond deeply with one family member and really like them over anyone else in the home. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
A Journey of Resilience and Love: The beautiful Morel (also known as Peggy), is a 10-month-old Dachshund mix, whose spirit has overcome incredible adversity. Rescued from a hoarding situation, Morel's path to happiness has been paved with challenges, but her resilience shines brighter. In her past, Morel had to fight for every scrap of food, leading to resource guarding. But with patience, love, and training, she's learning to trust and share. Her current foster reports remarkable progress, as she now eats alongside her foster sister without issue.  Morel is being fostered with a puppy who gets very excited to play with her, and Morel will correct her behavior, but for the most part, they rough house while being carefully monitored.  Despite her tumultuous past, Morel exhibits no aggression toward cats, demonstrating her capacity for harmony and coexistence.  Morel seeks a compassionate individual or couple willing to understand her unique needs, and to continue training and socialization. In return, Morel promises unwavering loyalty, cuddles, and joyful companionship. Due to her rough beginnings, she is looking for a home without young children.  Morel is medically up to date, partially housebroken, and crate trained. Story
Meet Micah, a sweet ~6 month old neutered male dachshund mix, weighing about 7 lbs! He is not expected to get much bigger. Micah and his siblings were rescued from a hoarding case in east TN and are now ready to find their furever homes! Micah is good with other dogs, people, and kids. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. From Micah's current foster: "Micah is my little adventurer. He's the bolder of the siblings, frequently disappears in the pen to go explore on his own. He's a bit more independent, and also has proven to be an escape artist from his indoor inclosure. Extremely sweet, loves uppies, and does a bark/howl that sounds like he's 80 years old. It's the best. Great will all ther other dogs he's met." He is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (may have some excitement pee, which is common with young dogs who are still working on full bladder control). Apply to meet this sweet boy today!  ##2180882##

Story
Meet Sophie and Saige, super cute ~6 month old spayed female dachshund mix puppies, each weighing about 10 lbs. Sophie and Saige were rescued from the same hoarding case in TN that Maddison, Myles, Milo, and Micah came from. They are both sweet and affectionate girls, shy at first but they warm up quickly. From Saige's current foster: "Saige is a young adult spayed dachshund mix. Has her “pocket rocket” moments where she runs around the back yard, but is calmer in the house. Very sweet and social, wags her tail and back end when she sees a person she knows! Loves to give kisses and chase Kong balls. A little dog selective, gets along with my 20lb terrier mix perfectly. Sleeps in a crate at night, no messes. Almost housebroken, and uses pee-pads very well in the house. Sweet, sweet dog who wants to be someone’s best friend!" These petite girls are good with other dogs, people, and kids. They have not been cat tested, but we assume they would probably do ok with cats. Sophie and Saige are medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken. Apply to meet them today!  ##2194001##

Story
Come see Turbo at Westbrook Outlet at 314 Flat Rock Place, Westbrook CT on October 26th and 27th, 20924 from 11:00am to 4:00pm. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ANY OF OUR DOGS PLEASE APPLY ONLINE IMMEDIATELY. See www.godogdays.org for details. Here is more information about me: GENERAL BEHAVIOR AND IDEAL HOME: Turbo is paralyzed in his hind legs, but he doesnt let that stop him. He still loves to play with his dog and human friends. He is a sweet boy who would love a human to call his own. Most rescues will not adopt out dogs, including puppies, to families with children under the age of 6 years old. Rescues will not allow dogs or puppies to go to homes where they will be crated during the full work day. The rescue has noticed this dog is generally good with dogs. However dogs, like people, act differently in different settings and a new adopter should expect there will be an adjustment period of time before before the dog settles in to a new home. At this time we ONLY adopt to residents of the state of Connecticut who live no more than one hour from the event site. GENERAL VETERINARY CARE: I have been ~ spayed/neutered ~ microchipped ~ dewormed ~ heartworm-tested negative if dog is of age to be tested ( 6 months or older) ~ up to date on all age appropriate shots ~ treated with a flea preventative ADOPTION FEES Rescues participating in our events are not allowed to charge more than $450 an adoption fee and some adoption fees are much less - it depends on what the rescue chooses to charge - Dog Days does not take any portion of the adoption fees. ONLINE ADOPTION APPLICATION FORM: https://redletterbusiness.wufoo.com/forms/find-my-new-best-friend/ (Copy and paste to browser.) ADOPTION PROCESS - Before the Event If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption, this will save you time at the event. We hope you will understand the careful scrutiny of potential adopters is not only for the safety and well-being of the dog but also for a positive experience for your household. Thank you for saving the life of a shelter dog through adoption; you are truly a hero. -- A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference. -- If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property. Dog Days will be conducting interviews of prospective adopters. -- If you have never owned a dog and therefore do not have a vet reference let us know right away and we'll try to do a home visit before the adoption weekend. First time adopters need a quick home visit to make sure they are ready to take a dog home for the first time. ADOPTION PROCESS - During the Event Weekend -- Plan on spending at least three to four hours going through the adoption process. We want you to be completely confident in your new pal so we will ask you to speak to a trainer, a veterinarian as well as interview with a member of our adoption team and the rescue. -- As a policy, Dog Days will not hold dogs for potential adopters so it is important to come to the event by 11:00am Saturday morning if you have your heart set on a particular dog. -- PLEASE NOTE THAT DOGS ARE GIVEN TO THE BEST HOME, NOT FIRST IN LINE. -- At this time we ONLY adopt to residents of the state of Connecticut who live no more than one hour from the event site. Each dog and puppy has been seen by a Connecticut veterinarian who will also be on site to answer any questions you may have. We'll have professional groomers on site to give your new pal a bath before you take them home (no charge) and our adoption bags will give you information and samples for use at home. See www.godogdays.org for details.
