Hoss and Little Joe Bio Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this bonded pair before applying.   Energy level: medium Potty training: Yes Fenced yard: yes, required Shared walls: not suitable  People: all Dogs: all  Other: bonded pair    Overview Looking for double the love and entertainment? Meet Hoss and Little Joe, a bonded pair of dachshund mixes who will fill your home with energy and affection.   Hoss is a 5-year-old white and tan boy who weighs 26 lbs, while Little Joe is a 3-year-old dark red pup who weighs 15 lbs. These two were found running loose in Columbia, SC and were never claimed. They're absolutely inseparable and must be adopted together—they're a package deal! Both boys are incredibly sweet and affectionate, and watching them interact is pure joy. When you ask "who wants to go outside?" the enthusiastic barking begins as they get so excited to run around together. Little Joe loves to wrestle Hoss while they're zooming around the yard, and it's the cutest thing you'll ever see. Environment Hoss and Little Joe need a fenced yard where they can run, play, and burn off their energy together. They are potty trained as long as taken out regularly and do not have accidents in the house. These boys are quite vocal—they love to bark when they're excited (especially about going outside) and when people approach—so a home without shared walls would be best. They can be left alone for a little while and do okay, though they're happiest when their people are around. Neither has been crate trained in their current foster home, so that's unknown territory. They love walks but need some leash training—they're enthusiastic but not quite polished yet. Pets & People Hoss and Little Joe absolutely love people. They bark as they approach new folks, but their tails are wagging the whole time and they're looking for pets and affection. They're the same way with strangers—all bark (literally) and lots of love. With other dogs, they needed a bit of time to adjust. For the first 2-3 days in their foster home, they barked at the resident dogs. By day 6, Little Joe decided he wanted to sit next to his foster mom on the couch. By day 10, Hoss joined them on the couch (though not quite ready to sit right next to her). By day 16, Hoss had claimed his own spot next to his foster mom. Once they warm up, they're wonderful with other dogs and would likely do well in a home with or without canine siblings. Both boys finish their food quickly but are respectful of other dogs who are still eating—no food guarding or pushiness. They can be a little snatchy when given treats, but they're working on being gentle and are making progress. Health & Special Needs Hoss and Little Joe are both on Hills Science Diet small bites weight management food to keep them at healthy weights. They also take fish oil capsules to help with their dry skin, which keeps their coats looking and feeling better.  Location Hoss and Little Joe are available for adoption from Greensboro, GA and both boys do fine in the car, they handled an hour-long car ride from Augusta to their foster home without any issues. Please email Pattyp@littlepawsdr.org with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Hoss and Little Joe is $325.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 4:53 pm

Story
Looking for double the love? Meet Lili and Lulu, a bonded duo who will fill your home with kisses, cuddles, and endless entertainment.   Lili and Lulu are 3-4 year old dachshund mixes with gorgeous short red coats. Lili weighs 25.6 lbs and Lulu weighs 23.2 lbs (both are working on reaching healthier weights). These two are inseparable and must be adopted as a pair.   Lili is the confident leader of the pack—a huge lovebug who's always ready with kisses and attention. She's curious, easy-going, and loves to sniff everything on walks. Lulu is the smart, observant one who's initially more hesitant but incredibly sweet once she feels comfortable. She's energetic, playful, loves her toys, and is a devoted cuddler. Together, they play throughout the day, groom each other, and create the most beautiful bond you'll ever see.   Environment   These high-energy girls need daily walks and play sessions to stay happy and healthy. They're both fully potty trained and don't require a fenced yard, though outdoor time for exercise is important.   Lili is very sweet and gentle with people. She loves attention and is usually the first one to approach for pets and kisses. She had family visitors over and was friendly and happy the whole time.   Lulu likes attention and cuddles once she's warmed up to someone, but she's initially more hesitant with new people. They would do best with older, considerate children.   Pets & People With strangers, Lili sometimes does a "preventive bark" during walks—one or two barks as if to say "I'm here, stay back." Once she sees that her people know and trust the person, she becomes friendly and comes closer for greetings. Lulu can be hesitant with strangers and may take steps back, but once she sees her people trust someone, she'll approach and interact, eventually accepting pets.   The girls met another dachshund on a walk and did fine. During walks, Lili has strong reactions toward other animals—she pulls the leash and is eager to get closer, requiring redirection. She's done the "preventive bark" at stranger dogs from a distance. Lulu doesn't pay much attention to other dogs. Both girls have prey drive and will need experienced owners who can work on their leash reactivity.   Health Both girls will benefit from continued training, particularly around leash manners and reactivity. An experienced adopter who can provide structure, patience, and positive reinforcement will help these sisters thrive.   Location Lili and Lulu are available for adoption from Coral Springs, FL. Please email virginiabyron20@gmail.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The combined adoption fee for Lili and Lulu is $600.00.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2026, 7:43 pm

Linnie Bio Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying. Energy level: high Potty training: in progress Fenced yard: yes (tries to escape) Shared walls: suitable People: all, though wary of men initially Dogs: all Other:  Overview Looking for a delightful companion who takes joy in absolutely everything? Linnie the red dachshund might be your perfect enthusiastic partner. Linnie is an 8-year-old purebred red dachshund with a smooth short coat, weighing 20 lbs. He was pulled from a southern West Virginia county shelter by a Little Paws foster and has been thriving ever since. This boy is fun, smart, enthusiastic, and absolutely full of life! Whether it's walks, playtime, or just hanging out with his people, Linnie radiates happiness and positivity. Environment Linnie is a high-energy guy who needs daily walks and playtime to stay happy and healthy. He's working on his potty training and making good progress. He loves walks but is still learning his leash manners, so he'll need patient adopters who can help him polish those skills. He would enjoy time in a fenced yard. He's very content being left to his own devices and can handle alone time without anxiety. He's not too noisy, making him suitable for homes with shared walls. Linnie only uses a crate for travel and doesn't particularly need one otherwise. He transported well when his foster picked him up and seems to handle car rides just fine. Pets & People Linnie is great with women and children—friendly, enthusiastic, and happy to make friends. With men, he pulls the bluster card initially, but if the men ignore his posturing, he takes a beat, realizes he needs to make friends with them, and quickly warms up. It's all show, and once he gets comfortable, he's just as loving with the guys. With other dogs, Linnie is wonderful! He moved into a multi-dog household without any incident and has even developed a sweet romance with an older Dalmatian mix girl in his foster home. His behavior around cats is unknown, but he definitely has herding instincts—he really likes to try to herd deer, which is both entertaining and something to watch for on walks! Linnie isn't a beggar, but he's definitely an opportunist when treats are being handed out—he'll snatch them at every chance! He's enthusiastic about food but not pushy about it during regular mealtimes. This boy adores toys and would absolutely love to play with squeaky toys. A home where he can enjoy all the squeakers would be a dream come true for Linnie! Health & Special Needs Linnie is a little chunky at 20 lbs and has been on Hill's Perfect Weight to help him reach a healthier size. With continued portion control and plenty of exercise, he'll be in great shape. Beyond weight management, he's a healthy, active boy with no other medical concerns. Location Linnie is available for adoption from Fairmont, WV. Please email sydneypringle@yahoo.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee for Linnie is $325.00. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 25, 2026, 9:07 pm

At 17.2 pounds, this loving boy proves that good things come in medium packages! Despite facing some mobility challenges, Printz maintains a wonderfully positive attitude and has a heart full of love to share.   Environment Printz is seeking a patient and nurturing home where someone can be present most of the time, as he gets a bit anxious when left alone. While he's currently on crate rest due to a back injury and needs help with mobility, he still enjoys the simple pleasures in life. He does well walking with assistance using a sling and is perfectly content in homes without a yard. He's well-behaved in his crate when his family needs to step out, but he can be vocal so shared walls are probably not a good idea. His reasonable energy needs and gentle nature make him an excellent companion.   Pets & People Printz is a very loving dog who thrives on human connection and wants nothing more than to be near his person. While initially shy, he quickly warms up to show his affectionate personality. He's a social butterfly with other small dogs and does very well in multi-dog households but is untested with children or cats. Therefore, only applicants with older, considerate kids will be considered. He can be vocal around larger dogs, but this is likely due to his size and mobility situation. He is food aggressive and eats his meals and treats in his crate. He's happy to go in the crate and comes out when the other dogs in the home have finished their food. He will growl and nip if disturbed when he has food or a valued toy.    Health Printz has some special medical needs that require a dedicated family. He currently needs assistance with bladder and bowel expression due to his back injury. He can take trazodone as needed to help manage any discomfort or anxiety. His mobility requires some extra support, and he uses a sling to help him walk comfortably. These needs are manageable with the right care routine, and his sweet personality makes it all worthwhile.   Location Printz is available for adoption from Gastonia, NC. Due to his special needs, he would prefer a home within a reasonable driving distance, as he can find long car rides challenging. Please email autenlinda@yahoo.com with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above. The adoption fee is $150.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 4:53 pm

Bean Bio Please ensure you understand and can meet the needs of this dog before applying. Energy level: medium Potty trained: yes Fenced yard: not needed Shared walls: suitable People: all Dogs: No big dogs Other: No cats    Overview Looking for a playful, affectionate companion who gets the zoomies and loves to cuddle? Bean the dachshund might be your perfect match. Bean is a 6-year-old tri-color (white, black, and tan) short-haired dachshund who weighs 17.4 lbs. He was released by his previous owner due to concerns about his prey drive around their newborn baby. Bean is super playful and gets absolutely adorable zoomies when he's excited. When he winds down, he transforms into the sweetest cuddle bug who snores when he gets into a deep sleep. He loves squeaky toys and has a funny habit of stretching and dragging his back legs across anything in his path. Environment Bean is fully potty trained and doesn't need a backyard, making him a great fit for various living situations. He's quiet enough for a home with shared walls and loves walks—he's great on a leash and enjoys his daily outings. Bean is a companion dog who really thrives on being with his people. His crate is his happy place and he sleeps beautifully overnight, but he does struggle when left completely alone during the day. He's been left alone but spent most of the time anxious, only settling for about an hour. Bean would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, works from home, or can bring him along. He's not suited for a family that's away for long hours regularly. Pets & People Bean is cautious when new guests first enter the home, but once he gets a sniff and realizes they're friendly, he's ready to play! Pro tip: if you give him a treat when you meet him, he'll love you forever. In public, he's very good with strangers who want to pet him—he's a little shy and anxious at first but absolutely loves the attention once he warms up. He licks almost everyone he meets! Bean is an only dog in his current foster home and has done better with small dogs he has met. On walks, he gets excited (not reactive) when he sees another dog approaching—no barking or timidity. At the vet, he was very calm with other dogs in the waiting room, sniffing nicely and being content. He's gentle when taking treats from humans and loves bones, which he'll take to a comfy spot to nibble.   Bean does wonderfully in the car in a dog seatbelt. He handled over 4 hours in the car on his journey to his foster home, sleeping most of the time and enjoying looking out the window. His future adopter could definitely take adventures with him. Health & Special Needs Bean is healthy and has no special needs. He does like to see his human while he is eating and will stop eating if left alone during meals.    Location Bean is available for adoption from North Charleston, SC. Please email juliejohnson@littlepawsdr.org with any questions or complete an adoption application at the button above.
