Story
"LOVE HEALS" Reishi, a 1 year old neutered Dachshund mix, has overcome incredible adversity to become the loving companion he is today. Rescued from a Tennessee hoarding case, Reishi's early life was marked by neglect, isolation, and overcrowding. Reishi's start in life was far from ideal. Reishi's fosters have witnessed remarkable growth, and he's now ready for a forever home where he'll continue to blossom as a loyal and loving friend. Reishi is truly a remarkable boy. Initially, he may require gentle interactions, avoiding sudden movements, and close proximity. However, once he's deemed you safe, Reishi's true personality shines: happy, goofy, and affectionate. Consistent training, and socialization will help Reishi build trust and confidence.  With his unique long legs, courtesy of his Min Pin mix heritage, Reishi loves to run. He thrives around other dogs and would do best in a home with a doggo sibling(s), Reishi loves being part of a pack! He loves outdoor adventures, walks, and playtime. Older kids (8+) who respect personal space are ideal, while Reishi's curiosity requires a cat-free home. This intelligent pup is always eager to learn and please. He is treat-motivated and thrives on positive reinforcement.  By adopting Reishi, you'll not only gain a loving companion but also provide a second chance at a happy life.  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2083262##

Story
Welcome Daisey to CCPAL foster program. She is an 8-year-old Dachshund/Corgi is our best guess. She has a longer body and upright ears. She is a scenting breed for sure. She is active and social and not the couch potato dog. She weighs 25 pounds. She is good with a dog smaller and a dog larger. The larger dog is a pit Bull and she does good with that more dominant dog as well. She is around children and is a great dog for a family with kiddos. She has a 5 year old and a baby in her home. This family has found they have to move into a rental house. The rental house will only allow 2 dogs. They are sad but there is no other option. Pit Bulls are tougher to rehome so she is rehoming her favorite dog. She was crying telling this story. Daisey is potty trained, good on a leash, good in a car, good with other dogs, kids and strangers. She will need a fenced yard or walked on a leash. She can catch a scent and wonder off. She has a nice sturdy body and will make a great companion for an active family or active senior. She can be an only dog or go with another dog. This dog has a lot of good years in front of her and is by no means an old acting dog. She is in good health, vaccinated, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is a shedding dog but only moderately. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to help get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org/ See her cute video.

Story
Welcome to Opal at the CCPAL Rescue. Opal is a 7 week old Chiweenie. She is the dapple color with different colored eyes. She is the biggest in the litter and a little more brave than the others. She likes being held and is very outgoing and loves people. The momma was a Chihuahua. We don’t know what the dad is. A few in this litter have some dapple coloration. She is really cute and should be under 15 pounds full grown is our best guess. She was raised at CCPAL rescue so she gets lots of attention. She has had 2 rounds of her puppy vaccines and will get the 3rd round before she is ready to be spayed. She is adorable and will make some lucky family a great companion. If we have a family with children, we like them to be 8 or older. She is very trusting of people so we want her to be treated with kindness and care. Someone that doesn’t work all day everyday would be best for a puppy. That will allow you time to finish off her training and to be around your pup. She would do great in a daycare for doggies as well. She has learned great socialization with her siblings. She is also good with cats. She is currently at the CCPAL Rescue and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Story
ADOPTED*** Toast – Female – DOB 3/13/2023 (1 year 8 months) Doug’s Sister - Black/Tan Dachshund chi mix ADOPTED*** Russell – Male – 13.8 lbs – DOB 5/18/2022 (2 years 6 months) – Black/Tan Dachshund chi mix Doug – Male – 10.1 lbs – DOB 3/13/2023 (1 year 8 months) – Brindle Dachshund/Chi mix ADOPTED*** Daisy – Puppy - Female – 5 lbs – Under 5 months of age - Brown Dachshund/Chi Mix About Dougie, the last available dachshund – He is a CUDDLER to the max and wants to be in your lap or laying next to you whenever he possibly can. He will be your shadow and follow you everywhere. Doug loves to give kisses and his biggest goal in life is to make his family/person happy. He is quite outgoing once he comes out of his shell (which doesn’t take long). His foster says if he could, he would be glued or handcuffed to you so you can always be next to you. He would be wonderful for somebody that is home more often than not and wants a very needy, cuddly small dog. Doug loves other dogs and would prefer a home with another dog or dogs in it, but it is not required. He can be a bit shy – if you come at him too quickly or scare him by picking him up too fast, he will/can pee a little bit. The foster calls it a “nervous pee-er” – Poor Dougie. While he has been raised with children, we believe a home that is a little more on the calm side is best. Doug is not very interested in toys but does occasionally when he is super excited get the zoomies and runs all over the place and acts like he’s a flying dog jumping on and off furniture in the middle of the zoomies. All 4 doggies have been raised in the same household but unfortunately the owners can no longer care for them properly (they have other doggies). They have been very loved and cared for their whole lives. They are all mostly house trained and they’re all very happy, well-socialized dogs. They have been raised with children and would do wonderful with them. As you can see in the video the fosters young daughter is laying on the floor and all 4 come running to lick her all over. These 4 have been raised with other dogs and cats and have no issues with either! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org

Story
Life can be a challenge when you are a small dog in a big world. Finding your place in the world can be a challenge but we are vested in finding our girl Betty the home she deserves and will be for a lifetime. Betty is a 3-year-old dachshund mix and she currently weighs around 13 pounds. Betty has experience big changes in her life so she will need time to adjust accordingly. Her shy demeanor is a work in progress as she will need a quiet home to allow her space and time to get adjusted to her new life and find her comfort level. She is good with other dogs but will need a home without young children or one with children over the age of 12. She has not been exposed to cats, so her acceptance remains an unknown at this time. Without a doubt, this girl is a sweetheart, and she will show her love over and over again. She has made her mark in high scores with having learned her house, crate and leash training. Betty can move forward with learning some basic commands and impress her family. Although she is house trained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Her small stature proves to be an added bonus because she will make an ideal lap companion. Spending time with her will certainly be the highlight of your day. Take some time to get to know Betty and are sure to find a new best friend. The adoption fee for Betty is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.January 22, 2025, 2:44 pm

Story
We are Flynn and Rider! Like thieves in the night we'll steal your heart. Flynn and Rider are absolutely gorgeous and active puppies looking for forever homes to call their own. Flynn is more reserved than Rider but he still loves to go play. He'll come sit by your feet and take in the world around him or he'll try to scamper up on your lap to show you rocks he's found. He loves being up high to get scratchies and watch his brother. Rider is the adventurer, he enjoys sniffing through the grass and pouncing grasshoppers. He likes to get the big dog toys to drag around the yard and have his brother chase him. Rider sits patiently waiting for his turn to get scratchies on your lap. He's so adorable! He's fearless until big trucks rumble by then you'll find him behind your chair! Don't get Tangled in our cute-pie puppy eyes! These pups have healthy appetites but will stop when full, graze later after activities. Their mom has short legs, longer body, pointy ears, narrow face, and a beautiful redish brindle coat. Might be corgi/dachshund mixes or be energetic little terrier dogs. They have cute little legs and look like they waddle from behind! Both like to play, run, and carry things around. They are really good at hustling from their room to door to go outside with "lets go, let's go, hurry, hurry, all the way to the door." Then once out the door "all the way to the gate... no pee pee in the walk way." Then "hurry hurry all the way back to go potty." They bound around in a scurry watching me for praise at their good efforts! Eager to learn, observant, smart. Will walk on leashes together but criss cross a bit so will need individual leash training. They are a little timid with new things in general so slow introductions would be helpful as they learn. They are young and going through a chewing stage so age appropriate chew toys a plus. Have experience with dogs their size. Very timid with big dogs. No experience with cats or children so please introduce them slowly. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
