Reishi, a 1 year old neutered Dachshund mix, has overcome incredible adversity to become the loving companion he is today. Rescued from a Tennessee hoarding case, Reishi's early life was marked by neglect, isolation, and overcrowding. Reishi's start in life was far from ideal.
Reishi's fosters have witnessed remarkable growth, and he's now ready for a forever home where he'll continue to blossom as a loyal and loving friend. Reishi is truly a remarkable boy. Initially, he may require gentle interactions, avoiding sudden movements, and close proximity. However, once he's deemed you safe, Reishi's true personality shines: happy, goofy, and affectionate. Consistent training, and socialization will help Reishi build trust and confidence.
With his unique long legs, courtesy of his Min Pin mix heritage, Reishi loves to run. He thrives around other dogs and would do best in a home with a doggo sibling(s), Reishi loves being part of a pack! He loves outdoor adventures, walks, and playtime. Older kids (8+) who respect personal space are ideal, while Reishi's curiosity requires a cat-free home. This intelligent pup is always eager to learn and please. He is treat-motivated and thrives on positive reinforcement.

Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding!
