That sweet, beautiful face belongs to Mildred, a calm, loving, loyal, easy-going lady with a huge heart and a fluffy coat. We think Mildred is a Corgi, Yorkshire Terrier mix. Her three-year-old human friend insists that she’s a baby Husky, because she looks like it! Mildred is 23 pounds of fluff, love and kisses. We estimate her age to be around 11 years old. She’s very friendly with strangers, but the most loving with her favorite people. Taking Mildred out and about with you would be easy and enjoyable. She would love a day out shopping, a calm evening on a restaurant patio, a pup cup or two! Mildred is a mellow, sweet girl, and she did well with every new friend she met here at the rescue. She was patient, sweet and loving with a three year old here at the rescue, which you can see in her video! She met a big, goofy Pittie mix and did well with him too. They shared affection and treats, and she was unbothered. Mildred does well with kitties too, she’s lived with them before! Kika is doing well with her leash training so far. When walking near dogs or other humans, Kika isn’t pulling, reacting or barking. She walks well on the leash, but sometimes her curiosity gets the best of her and she’ll get distracted by a good sniff. With a tiny bit of polishing, Kika will become an amazing walking companion. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Norberta - Nora for short. We had to see it to believe it... a Corgi Husky! *Insert head shaking here! :) Fortunately - Nora is not only cute, but she's pretty sweet too. Her personality is a mix of both breeds - she can be bossy like a corgi and active like a husky, so a home with previous dog experience is a must. She gets along with other dogs - but if they are too much for her, she has no problem correcting them. Nora loves to hang out with her people - following you from place to place and just hanging out. She's not a huge fan of her crate, but appears to be housebroken so may not need one in her new home. Nora's foster mom says she's great on a leash, so she's ready for adventures. She's pretty quiet overall. We think Nora's ideal home is fenced yard, other dogs that she can chase and play with. She can be aloof too with other dogs, but recently had great fun with fellow foster dog Como (an Aussie). She's in a home with a toddler, but we think older kids would be a better fit - again... bossy!! Ha! We also think a feline free home would be best - just based on her breeds. Nora is under a year old, she's not quite 20# and we don't anticipate her getting much bigger. She is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Save-A-Mutt may require a training contract and $100 refundable deposit (depending on previous dog experience). You pick a trainer in your area, and upon completion of a 6+ week training class, we will refund the deposit. Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. Adoption fee is $475. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

She is a 4-year-old Corgi-Dachshund female. Mia is a smart, protective, loving, and independent dog. It may take her a few days to trust new people, but treats can help with that. Once she gets comfortable around someone, she loves belly rubs, playing with her toys, chewing on her split Elk antler, and running around the yard. She has a great personality and is incredibly loyal to her favorite human. She doesn't need constant attention and is happy to sit and chew her antler while her person works. However, when it's time for some love, she'll drop the antler and enjoy some quality time with her human. Mia is a "Dorgi," which is a mix of Corgi and Dachshund, and she needs a home without cats or other dogs. She is very protective of her home and will make a great watchdog. She would be a perfect fit for a single woman who wants a loyal dog that will bond strongly with her.  What Mia Needs: Mia needs a home without children or small animals, as she prefers to be the only pet. She loves attention and needs someone who can give her lots of love and care. She also needs a fenced yard for potty breaks and walks. It's important to keep her on a healthy, canine-specific diet to ensure she remains healthy for her entire life. We will provide in-depth education on how to care for her. Meet Harley! This chubby little girl is the most adorable girl you will ever meet. She likes spending time with you, she loves playing with the ball but she prefers time by your side more. When I say she's really adorable, it's because she is! She plays with other dogs, small, medium or large, she lives with cats although sometimes she usually runs after them to play (And cats that are not used to dogs don't like that) Potty trained with potty pads, crate trained, and good with adults and children. With strangers she is usually sociable, she is a very curious, loyal dog, and ready to play with you and receive cuddles at all times. She loves to give you kisses on the face, give you her paw to play with and she will always receive you from work with a huge smile. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Bentley! He is a 4-year-old, 22lb Corgi/Beagle mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Bentley is a sweet dog that is very treat motivated, however, it takes him a while to trust people. He is very uncertain in new situations and will need patience in allowing him to open up and feel comfortable. Bentley loves to go on walks and has a lot of spunky energy once he opens up. He would thrive in a home that takes him on daily walks and/or has a large yard for him to run around. We are looking for a quiet home with no small children as he can fear nip when stressed. He will need a confident adopter who will help him with his trust issues. He is fully house trained, and crate trained. Bentley is UTD vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.
