Story
Meet Doris. Doris is a 7 1/2 yo corgi rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. We have like to call her Potato, because she’s a little sweet potato. She has short little legs, big ears, the sweetest little face and the cutest nub tail you’ll ever see. She hasn’t mastered walking up the stairs yet but may be able to with a little more courage and some practice. On the smaller size for a Corgi, she weighs about 30 pounds so she is easy to carry up and down the stairs if needed. She loves attention and loves to give lots of kisses. Will lay with you when you’re watching TV. Loves to run through the snow. Curious about all new rooms/areas and will have to walk around and sniff everything before deciding to lay down and relax. Loves children and wants to say hello to everyone she meets. Has not barked at anything yet. She is in a foster as the only pet in the house. She does get along with other dogs, but might be possessive with areas and toys. She would have to be the dominant dog in the house, so a meet and greet is important. Doris does well on a leash. She is currently in a home with a fenced in yard and will come when you call her in. She loves spending time with her humans and will follow you everywhere and the sound of her teensy feet click-clacking behind you on the floors will warm your heart. She has a lot of energy and will play if you throw a toy for her to chase. She sleeps through the night in a crate and is o.k. in there during the day if you have to leave. She does not use it as a safe space. Doris is curious when roaming around the house, she has tried to chew a couple of things, but has not destroyed anything and she will listen if you tell her to stop. Doris is an absolute love bug.Doris is now spayed, had a dental cleaning, is up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $350.00. Story
Hi everyone my name is Jasper and I am about to turn 9 years old and I am a Corgi and pug mix boy that is 24 lbs and my 91 yr old Dad just went into assisted living.   His family is not able to take me and let me live out the rest of my life with them so they have asked Critter Cavalry Rescue to find a foster for me. I'm lucky because lots of people ask them every hour of the day to get a new place for their dog. I'm a good boy but I really don't want to live with another dog. You can see from my pictures I'm quite playful and I have a great smile. I am housebroken and I really don't need a crate because I'm a good boy when loose in the house and I'm minding my P's and Q's when you're gone. I've got lots of great healthy years ahead of me. I'm looking for someone special to spend them with. I need someone that loves a good strong playful medium sized dog that does everything right in life. Because my original Dad never took me out with other dogs much, I am mostly defensive when I am confronted with other dogs on a walk.  They scare me honestly.   I just need to be in a home with no other dog so I can feel safe and secure.  Hard to teach an older dog like me new tricks. But I know someone will just want only ME to be their one and only, so I'm looking for happy people because I'm happy boy. I've got a great outgoing personality and I can help you make more friends if you just take me for walks and let me work my cuteness factor and charm.  I'm neutered, I'm totally vetted and healthy and I'm microchipped. I'm also very ready to spend the holidays with you as my new best friends and forever family . Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com If you would like to know more about me and apply to adopt. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.January 7, 2025, 1:25 pm

Story
Hello Everyone! It’s me, Buddy! I bet you were wondering what I’ve been doing in the last 3 ½ months since I got to the Rescue. I’ve been doing A LOT! But first Ladies and Gentlemen, I have some important news… I think it’s time I started interviewing for a new family of my own. I know, right? I love my foster mom and fur brother and sisters, but I just KNOW there is some one out there JUST FOR ME! I think I’m ready to meet you and make you part of my family. Just a reminder about me, I’m 34lbs, about 5 years old, and I’m a Corgi/Dachsund mix – so I have short legs and a long nose! I’m up to date on all my shots and yes, I still hate the vet! I’m looking for a family who has no other dogs or if I really do have to share my new parents with another dog, then I prefer a larger dog that can handle my semi-rough play and can teach me what is expected of me & be understanding with me. We would just need to meet first so I know we like each other. I also would prefer a home with no young children (preferably no one under 16-18). I occasionally jump and I’m also not really trusting of these small humans. They move too fast, run around, and just make me feel very uncomfortable. Plus – they take my toys, go near my food, and sometimes accidentally hurt me. I’m sure you can understand. I need a strong but understanding parent who can be my leader but also learn to read my signals and understand my needs. It’s been a rough life and I want to share it with someone who understands I’m not perfect. I would prefer a fenced yard. I’m not that great on leash walking (I like to run ahead – it’s more fun) … But if you would take some time to teach me, I bet I would love to walk with you. I DO LOVE the car though, so buckle me in and get me a pup cup from Starbucks! Now you know what I’m looking for… ask my foster mom for my "Buddy Bio", and all about ME that I helped my foster mom write! I can't wait to hear from you! ~Buddy Email my foster mom Danielle danielleklein09@gmail.com

Weighing in at 25 lbs, This sweet girl is as loving as they come.Luna is an adult tricolor Welsh Corgi with a heart as big as her adorable little legs! Weighing in at 25 lbs, she should use a little help slimming down, but that just means more opportunities for bonding over leisurely strolls! This sweet girl is as loving as they come. She adores giving kisses and would happily spend her days curled up on your lap, watching TV. She rides well in the car, is crate trained, and is making great progress on her basic commands and leash skills. Luna is currently on medication for anaplasmosis, which she will need to take for about a month. She is also in heat so her spay is delayed. Her ideal diet consists of 1/3 cup of food twice a day to help her reach a healthier weight.  While she is friendly with all the people she's met, Luna isn't a fan of other dogs and may need to be the only pet in her new home. Her perfect match would be a quiet household where she can be the center of attention. If you're looking for a devoted companion who will shower you with love, Luna is ready to be your new best friend! Apply to meet her today! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  February 3, 2025, 3:42 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. At 9 years old and 16 lbs., Wheezy was surrendered to the shelter when her owner became ill and could no longer care for her. To say she was scared is an understatement.  Wheezy was very happy to get out of the shelter with us and simply cuddled up for a nice ride home.   Wheezy is good with both dogs and cats. She is well-behaved in the home and can be left home without being destructive. The best news of all, she is housebroken. She is a great girl who is looking for a second chance with a family of her own. Wheezy has been vaccinated, spayed, microchipped and had a dental done where they needed to remove several of her teeth. Wheezy has recently been diagnosed with Cushing disease which is being treated with daily medication. OUR RESCUE WILL COVER THE COST OF HER MEDICATION. She is doing great with it and will make a wonderful pet for a lucky family.
