For Adoption: Mook!
Please read our dog bios carefully to be sure that the dog you are applying for suits your family and lifestyle.
We at PDR believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. Post-adoption training is a requirement in our adoption process.

Everyone, meet Mook—a one-of-a-kind Corgi-Husky mix with a golden coat, a heart of gold, and a whole lot of love to give! Mook is a 2-year-old, 30-pound bundle of charm. She arrived on the smaller side, but with some TLC, she’s filled out beautifully and is now looking healthy and happy. Her short golden coat shines in the sunlight, and those classic rounded corgi ears? Total showstoppers. It’s no surprise she turns heads everywhere she goes with her unique and adorable mix!
Named after Mook from the latest season of White Lotus, this pup shares her namesake’s charm, quiet confidence, and unexpected spark—making her just as unforgettable.
Mook’s journey began in northern Manitoba before Save a Dog Network Canada and Pound Dog Rescue stepped in to change her life. Now thriving in a loving foster home, she’s blossomed into a smart, energetic, and affectionate dog who is ready to find her forever family.
Mook would be a great fit for a variety of households. She’s not overly high-energy, but she does need a couple of daily walks to stay happy and healthy. Her ideal home would include older children (over 6ys) who can get involved with her training and help her burn off some energy—especially during her occasional bouts of zoomies! Mook thrives on routine and quickly adapted to our daily schedule. She looks forward to her morning walks, where she gets in her sniffs and does her business like a total pro.
On leash, she’s very well-behaved and generally only needs a quick reminder if a squirrel crosses our path. She’s neutral toward other dogs out and about but is always happy to greet friendly people who stop to say hi. Mook is comfortable walking on both quiet residential streets and busier city sidewalks, and she’s not fazed by noise—she’d do just as well living in an urban environment or somewhere quieter with a bit more space. A securely fenced yard would be great for her zoomies and outdoor play, as she loves having the chance to explore safely off-leash.
One of our favorite things about Mook is her playful, cuddly nature. She loves collecting toys on her dog bed, tossing them around, and rolling in the chaos like it's her personal playground. Once she’s had her fun, she’ll curl up on the couch and snooze—often cuddled up with her foster brothers. She’s a champion napper, complete with soft snores and the occasional dream wiggle after a big day of play. Mook has been steadily getting used to bath time—especially when there’s a peanut butter lick mat involved to sweeten the deal. She’s also fine with brushing and will need regular grooming during shedding seasons thanks to her husky heritage (we’re seeing it now with the spring weather).
She’s fully house trained and crate trained—zero accidents since day one in foster care. Her crate is her safe haven, where she loves to bunch up the blankets and make a cozy nest. She eats her meals in there, naps during the workday, and sleeps peacefully through the night. The only time she might make a peep is if you sleep in—routine is everything to Mook! She’s also great in the car, hopping in with no hesitation. She prefers to be on the move, so she might whine a bit if you're parked, but settles as soon as the car gets rolling again.
Mook currently lives with two older dogs and a dog-savvy cat—and she absolutely adores her pack. She’s often found snuggled up to her canine foster siblings, using their tails as pillows or curling up bum-to-bum just to be close. She’s respectful of the resident cat’s space, though she occasionally needs a reminder that not everyone is up for playtime. With gentle correction, she listens and adjusts quickly.
Mook is incredibly smart and highly food motivated, which makes her a great candidate for training classes. She’s already working on basics like “sit” and heads into her crate for naps with enthusiasm—especially if treats are involved. Continued training will help her become the best version of herself, and based on what we’ve seen, she’s more than ready to shine. Her recall has improved significantly too—about 8 times out of 10, she’ll come running when called during outdoor play.
Health-wise, the only thing to note is that Mook went into heat during her time in foster care and, as a result, could not be spayed. Her forever family must be able to bring her back to our vet in Cambridge in July in order to have her spay surgery completed. Anyone interested in Mook needs to live within an hour of Cambridge to feasibly accommodate the drop off and pick up of the spay date. She will be adopted out on a contract that mandates the return for her spay. Aside from that, she’s a healthy, happy girl who’s up to date on all her vaccinations.
Mook is one of those dogs you fall for fast—not just because she’s adorable, but because she gives just as much love as she receives. With her big heart, snuggly nature, and playful spirit, she’s ready to bring a lifetime of joy, couch cuddles, and neighborhood sniff-safaris to her forever family.
Ready to fall in love with the sweetest little sidekick? Mook’s got the heart of a husky, the charm of a corgi, and she’s waiting to curl up right next to you—forever.
