Story
Ollie came to Brooklyn two years ago via a rescue organization, prior to which he spent two years in a Texas shelter. We estimate he is around eight years old, so he has plenty of energy for long walks but also enjoys just laying around the home. He is cuddly and affectionate, and recently has shown his playful side by playing fetch. He is not fearful and rarely barks, and he gets along well with dogs of all types. He respects the home, never destroying anything aside from the occasional book/magazine, and he has never had an accident in the house. He can be left home alone for the entire workday and seems to handle it well. Given his rural upbringing he is wary of strangers, ignoring them while outside but getting territorial when they enter the home; unfortunately he will try to bite new people that try to handle him. He also has a chronic cough that the vet cannot solve, likely due to prolonged heartworm during his earlier years, though he is otherwise very healthy.

Story
Theo is a 10 month old, 18 lbs, male Corgi/Australian Shepard mix from California. He is adjusting well during his time in Brooklyn. Theo enjoys cuddles, playing fetch, and chilling on the couch with his person. He is doing well in crate training and working on other obedience training like “stay” “come” and “sit”.During his time with his foster family, he seems to be working on his house training and would benefit from routine and positive reinforcement with his favorite treats.Theo is still working on his leash skills, but is improving quickly and will do better as he becomes more confident in the city. Theo is a sweet, cuddly, and adorable pup.His forever family will need to continue working with Theo to reinforce and advance the progress he's been making.Theo has done well in his crate at night and is working on being comfortable alone during the day. He has some separation anxiety and his forever family will need to continue to advance his progress being comfortable on his own.He loves to be cozy with his foster family and can often be found with his favorite fox stuffed animal or stuffed Lamb Chop.Theo is looking for a medium to active family who can grow his confidence. He appreciates both downtime and active moments.  Theo would likely do well with another friendly dog to grow his confidence.Theo would be fine in a home with or without children. Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  To apply for Theo, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2221008##

Story
Jasmine (born: 3/20/2012) is 10 years old and 22 pounds. We were told that her parents were a Collie and a Chihuahua, but we think she looks like a Corgi / Sheltie mix. We call Jasmine the Elizabeth Taylor of dogs, because she is like a glamorous, iconic, movie star – very discerning about who she makes friends with. If you are gentle and let her warm up to you, you will pass the test and Jasmine will absolutely adore you! Jasmine loves to be admired, brushed, being with you, she enjoys her walks and is housebroken. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. Once a completed application is received, the HSNY Adoption Team will review it and we will contact you if we are going to take next steps. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Jasmine, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you! For additional information on the Humane Society of New York, please visit: humanesocietyny.org. Thank you!

Princeton is a fun loving boy. He did really well in foster and appears to be housebroken.  He is a smart young boy who would do well with an active family.  He loves to run around, so a fenced in yard would be best for him.  Princeton  would prefer to be the only dog in the home and no young children.
