Story
Angkko is a sweet and shy male 4-year-old 17 lbs welsh corgi. We rescued him in October, he was rescued from a horrific, illegal puppy mill in Busan where he was forced to breed continuously under dire conditions. Angkko is one of almost 600 dogs saved through the efforts of Korean K9 Rescue and our incredible partners. Now he's in foster care,  Angkko is looking for his forever family. Watch his rescue here: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/pH4y4l8j2RE Adopting a puppy mill survivor like Angkko has unique rewards and responsibilities. He has shown incredible resilience and a bright spirit, but dogs from these backgrounds often require patience and time to decompress and adjust to a loving home. While Angkko is currently healthy and has received excellent veterinary care, potential adopters should be aware of the genetic predispositions common in dogs from such environments, back disease (IVDD) common with the corgi breed, including luxating patellas, heart conditions, dental issues, etc., that could arise later in life, and prepare both financially and mentally to help Gemma live an everyday happy life.   Meet all our adoptable dogs this weekend!  Saturday, Dec 28thPetco Union Square 44 Union Square E (Manhattan) Pre-approved: 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm General Public: 12:30 pm - 4:00 pmSunday, Dec 29th KK9R Office - Astoria 24-07 31st St (Queens) Pre-approved: 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm General Public: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm   We encourage you to submit your adoption application before the events for pre-approval.
