Story
It is with a heavy heart that my family is looking for a new home for our beloved dog due to changes in our family situation. We want to ensure our pup continues to have the love, care, and stability they deserve. They are a loyal and affectionate companion who has brought endless joy to our lives, and finding them a home where they will be cherished is our top priority. This decision has not been easy, but we believe it’s what’s best for their happiness and well-being. If you’re looking for a loving addition to your family, please reach out.

Story
Hello Everyone! It’s me, Buddy! I bet you were wondering what I’ve been doing in the last 3 ½ months since I got to the Rescue. I’ve been doing A LOT! But first Ladies and Gentlemen, I have some important news… I think it’s time I started interviewing for a new family of my own. I know, right? I love my foster mom and fur brother and sisters, but I just KNOW there is some one out there JUST FOR ME! I think I’m ready to meet you and make you part of my family. Just a reminder about me, I’m 34lbs, about 5 years old, and I’m a Corgi/Dachsund mix – so I have short legs and a long nose! I’m up to date on all my shots and yes, I still hate the vet! I’m looking for a family who has no other dogs or if I really do have to share my new parents with another dog, then I prefer a larger dog that can handle my semi-rough play and can teach me what is expected of me & be understanding with me. We would just need to meet first so I know we like each other. I also would prefer a home with no young children (preferably no one under 16-18). I occasionally jump and I’m also not really trusting of these small humans. They move too fast, run around, and just make me feel very uncomfortable. Plus – they take my toys, go near my food, and sometimes accidentally hurt me. I’m sure you can understand. I need a strong but understanding parent who can be my leader but also learn to read my signals and understand my needs. It’s been a rough life and I want to share it with someone who understands I’m not perfect. I would prefer a fenced yard. I’m not that great on leash walking (I like to run ahead – it’s more fun) … But if you would take some time to teach me, I bet I would love to walk with you. I DO LOVE the car though, so buckle me in and get me a pup cup from Starbucks! Now you know what I’m looking for… ask my foster mom for my "Buddy Bio", and all about ME that I helped my foster mom write! I can't wait to hear from you! ~Buddy Email my foster mom Danielle danielleklein09@gmail.com

Dog Name: Maisy Breed: Mixed breed Sex: Female Age: 9 years old Weight: 30lbs Medical Needs: Needs to be spayed. The appointment has been requested at the Georgetown BVSPCA. Keeping this appt is a condition of adoption and for that reason, foster to adopt families must live within one hour of Georgetown and be willing to take her back there for the appointment. Housebroken: Yes Crate trained: Yes, will fuss a bit but sleeps in the crate all night Good in the car: Unsure, we have not taken her out for a ride yet as the weather has been bad Good on a leash: Yes, but will pull in excitement Energy level: She is very busy - Surprisingly high considering her age, she enjoys playing with stuffed toys and chew toys. Would enjoy a similar energy level pup to play with to keep her worn out Need a fenced in yard: Yes unless you plan on walking on leash exclusively. Maisy will follow her nose or a squirrel, so making sure she does not escape is necessary Dog Friendly: Yes! And would absolutely love another dog to play with in her adoptive home Cat Friendly? Unsure Chicken Friendly? No! Maisy was surrendered to the rescue be size she kept attacking her family’s chickens Small Animals (Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, etc.) No! Kid Friendly: Yes! She adores the toddler in her foster home! She would be great with children of any age Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Maisy has been a dream foster, and is super sweet and very playful. She wants nothing more than to be petted and snuggled and will bop your hand for pets. She would love another dog of a similar energy level as a companion to keep her tired. Her body is as busy as her brain and enjoys her toys and treats that keeps her mentally stimulated. Maisy was an outside dog before being surrendered so she is learning to be an inside dog. If you have been looking for a playful pup in a small package, Maisy is the girl for you! Foster's Location: Laurel, DE Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application If you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app. Thanks ##2276206##
