Story
We're thrilled to welcome the newest little lady, Bella! When we saw a plea to rescue Bella from an overcrowded inner city shelter we knew we had to make it happen, as she wasn't doing well. Bella is a middle aged, pittie mix and what she's mixed with is anyone's guess! Corgi? Bassett hound? Dachshund? Definitely something with short legs! She's the ultimate low rider, with her creamy brown coat, big ears and adorable bunny hop-run. She has a calm, sweet temperament jumping up lightly to give hugs. Bella is as snug as a bug in a rug? Her favorite place is cuddled underneath her favorite blanket! So what if it’s June??? This girl knows how to get comfy. When it comes to being cute and adorable Bella understands the assignment. She enjoys short walks, quick zoomies in the yard, peanut butter treats and of course her blankie! She’s a low maintenance gal and doesn’t mind being your couch buddy. A ride in the car or a trip to a local brewery are good with her too as long as she’s with her people. Bella is ok around other dogs but prefers not to share a home with them, she wants her family allllll to herself. We think she’ll give more than enough love for one dog.? If you love the low riders and think Bella could fit into your lifestyle please fill out an application at pittiesandpals.com

Story
Hello Everyone! It’s me, Buddy! I bet you were wondering what I’ve been doing in the last 3 ½ months since I got to the Rescue. I’ve been doing A LOT! But first Ladies and Gentlemen, I have some important news… I think it’s time I started interviewing for a new family of my own. I know, right? I love my foster mom and fur brother and sisters, but I just KNOW there is some one out there JUST FOR ME! I think I’m ready to meet you and make you part of my family. Just a reminder about me, I’m 34lbs, about 5 years old, and I’m a Corgi/Dachsund mix – so I have short legs and a long nose! I’m up to date on all my shots and yes, I still hate the vet! I’m looking for a family who has no other dogs or if I really do have to share my new parents with another dog, then I prefer a larger dog that can handle my semi-rough play and can teach me what is expected of me & be understanding with me. We would just need to meet first so I know we like each other. I also would prefer a home with no young children (preferably no one under 16-18). I occasionally jump and I’m also not really trusting of these small humans. They move too fast, run around, and just make me feel very uncomfortable. Plus – they take my toys, go near my food, and sometimes accidentally hurt me. I’m sure you can understand. I need a strong but understanding parent who can be my leader but also learn to read my signals and understand my needs. It’s been a rough life and I want to share it with someone who understands I’m not perfect. I would prefer a fenced yard. I’m not that great on leash walking (I like to run ahead – it’s more fun) … But if you would take some time to teach me, I bet I would love to walk with you. I DO LOVE the car though, so buckle me in and get me a pup cup from Starbucks! Now you know what I’m looking for… ask my foster mom for my "Buddy Bio", and all about ME that I helped my foster mom write! I can't wait to hear from you! ~Buddy Email my foster mom Danielle danielleklein09@gmail.com

Story
Meet Arnold, a one-year-old Corgi/Rat Terrier mix! He has reached his mature weight of around 21 pounds and sports a short tan and brown coat. Arnold gets along wonderfully with other dogs, but we are unsure of how he feels about cats! He loves attention, though, and will follow you around as he waits for pets. Arnold is also crate-trained and partially house-trained! Adopt Arnold and let this sweetie fill your life with love! Isn't he adorable? (ME, 12/4/24)**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.December 15, 2024, 5:32 pm
