Story
Hi, my name is Naan! I’m 13 months and have been awaiting my forever family. I am a goofy lovable 60lbs collie shepherd mix. I am crate and potty trained and working on commands including recall and sit. I am very food motivated and love learning new tricks. I also enjoy walking, hiking, and playing. I would do best in an active family who is able to meet my exercise needs daily. I would do best with older children who can match my energy. I love to give kisses and even hugs. I also enjoy watching and chasing bunnies and squirrels and may do best in a home without cats although I’ve never formally met a cat. I love to play with other playful dogs big or small. I’ve walked all through Boston and hiked mountains so far and done well. I hope you pick me to join you on adventures January 5, 2025, 9:07 am

Story
Sadie is a 10 month old mix! She is a great dog. House trained, crate trained, and very smart. She is an absolute baby and looking for a home with an owner who has the means to train her for food aggression, or an owner who has experience with this. Aside from the food aggression she is good with kids and has been growing up in a household with a 3 and 7 year old. She is high energy so we are looking for someone with access to a fenced in yard and active lifestyle. She loves hikes, swimming at the beach, she’s great at fetch and the best companion.

Story
Codie - Codie is a 2 year old super sweet lab mix that has been in foster care his whole life, patiently waiting for his forever family. His sister, Roxxie, was with us as well, but she was adopted this past year to a wonderful family. Codie loves to go on walks and loves the dog park & being around other pups. He is very shy at first with humans and other pups, but it just takes him a little time to warm up. He just has to make sure he can trust you. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He loves snacks and cheese. That's the way to his heart. He is fully crate trained and potty trained. If there was ever a dog that was autistic, I believe Codie to be. He is so smart and has really come out of his shelter but it really does take time. He would love to live in his kennel if I would let him, but I won't. It's going to take a special family who will take the time with him. He would thrive with another pup to lead the way. He follows Snoop around and steals all the toys and loves to grab things in the house to take to his kennel. 😂 If you are missing something, he usually has it. He is so sweet and so funny. Story
Meet Sheesh, an energetic and happy-go-lucky Border Collie/Lab mix, who is as cute and silly as her name!  Sheesh was found as a stray with her brother Ozy, and we’re estimating the siblings to be about 8 to 9 months old. While her age is a little uncertain, her breed is much more clear. According to newly arrived breed-test results, Sheesh is half Border Collie and a quarter Labrador Retriever, along with small amounts of a few other breeds. She has a beautiful, somewhat-long and wavy coat with a fluffy tail.  Sheesh is super friendly with adults, kids and other dogs. There’s truly not a mean bone in her body. She would do best in a home with another young and/or playful dog. She has the potential to annoy an older dog who doesn’t like to play.  Sheesh’s hobbies include chewing on ice cubes and playing fetch. She loves chasing the ball and brings it back most of the time. She could be a fetch expert with a little training. Sheesh also loves water. We’re not sure if she can swim, but she enjoys walking through sprinklers on walks and looks so happy when she’s all wet! She sits calmly in the bath tub during bath time.  Sheesh is an active older puppy and would love an active family who wants to take her on adventures. A playful doggy sibling and large fenced-in yard would be an added bonus!  Sheesh is very smart and goes to her crate when she hears the word “crate.” She sleeps quietly in her crate at night and is solidly potty trained. She currently weighs 40lbs and we’re guessing she won’t surpass 50 lbs, so she’ll be a nice, manageable size when full grown.” If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED.
