Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application! Gorgeous Beau is a vivacious puppy. Playtime and walkies are his favorite ways to spend the day. Beau enjoys playing with toys with others and by himself. Beau’s favorite game is playing keep-away with his stuffies and other toys. When he is in the yard, he plays non-stop with the other dogs. He equally loves the company of people and dogs. Beau’s foster mom says he is good with kids once he has settled down after meeting them. He might jump when first meeting them, though. Beau gets along well with dogs and dog-savvy cats. He is curious about cats and likes to chase them and try to play. If a cat raises his paw, he knows to stop trying to play with them and walks away.   Beau is still young and would like someone who enjoys interactive play with their dog and/or taking daily walks. Beau also requests that his forever family get a Kong and fill it with peanut butter for him–it’s one of his most favorite things.   Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.April 2, 2025, 8:22 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!FENCED YARD NEEDED Sadie is a pretty 6-year-old collie who has quickly adjusted to life at her foster home. Inside, she’s calm and mellow, though her favorite pastime is gazing out the windows, where she may get a bit excited by the sights she sees. She enjoys being close to her humans but is also happy to observe from a distance. She is learning commands and understands “no” but still needs a treat to reliably come when called. She will thrive in a home with a fenced-in yard. While she’s only been with her foster family for a short time, we’re already seeing great progress. Sadie had an unfortunate run-in with a car as a youngster, but other than being a bit slower to get up, you wouldn’t notice. She walks politely on a leash and enjoys walks, but she would not be a good candidate for long walks or runs.   She's a happy girl, wags her tail often and tells her humans she needs to go out by coming up to them and barking. She barks with interest as she approaches other dogs in the neighborhood, but Sadie has not had the opportunity to be off leash with them. The cat in the household quickly left the area when it saw Sadie, and Sadie did not chase it. She is a good “watch” collie, barking at the door when someone knocks but greets people well. She has not shown any fear of household or weather noises. She is a bit vocal, but her barking does have a purpose--to alert the foster to something she thinks is worth checking out. Sadie is sweet and well-behaved, does well in the car and is trustworthy in the house without a crate. She is just waiting for her forever home.Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.April 11, 2025, 8:48 pm

Story
To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application! Meet Sammy, the adorable pup with a heart full of love! He found himself in foster care when his family had to move to a place that didn’t allow pets. Fortunately, this happy, easy-going boy settled in seamlessly at his foster home. From the moment he arrived, Sammy was eager to give out kisses—a habit he continues with everyone he meets. Sammy’s happy-go-lucky nature has been a great asset. He gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in the home, enjoying outdoor adventures before initiating playtime. Indoors, he entertains himself with toys. He’s also indifferent to the family cat, preferring to focus on playing with his fellow foster pup. This smart and well-mannered boy knows his name, is house and crate-trained, and has mastered the sit command. His foster mom describes him as a quick learner, highly motivated by both treats and food. He has adjusted smoothly to his new environment with no signs of anxiety due to the change in households. At just 1 year old, Sammy is young and active and would thrive in a home that can provide him with some activity. His pleasant demeanor will make him an easy and lovable addition to any forever home.  Dont forget to visit our informative website, www.almosthomeohio.org, for valuable information and interesting features.April 15, 2025, 4:33 pm

Story
Maggie is a spritely, sassy super senior! Happy to mix it up with her foster pack and enjoys long walks. She can catch and fetch a ball (unusual for our Collie friends) and hop into the back of an SUV without issue. Maggie likes to let everyone know who’s the boss and who could blame her – she has earned that right! She can be vocal and opinionated but affectionate and calm and likes to let you know if you’re not paying her enough attention. Maggie enjoys keeping her people in sight and if you don’t know where she is, she’s probably lying quietly behind you. This gorgeous light mahogany gal acts much younger than her 10 years and does have some arthritis setting in but it surely does not slow her down. She gets on with other dogs and truly loves everyone. An owner surrender who could no longer keep her due to their serious health challenges, Maggie was very loved and well cared for and it shows. Maggie is being fostered in Georgia If Maggie strikes your fancy and you are ready to give her a soft landing to continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Maggie isn’t your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. In order to continue our rescue efforts and help more dogs, we require an adoption donation ranging from $75 - $500, depending on the age, breed and the expenses incurred on the individual dog. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you
