Story
Meet sweet Auggie!!! His caregiver is terminally ill so a new home needed to be found. How heartbreaking for him, I’m sure he is so confused. Auggie is a collie maybe mixed with shepherd. He is 4 1/2 years old and 50 pounds. Auggie is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm tested negative. He is great with kids and other dogs. Auggie has not been around cats but his temperament leads me to believe he would be fine. He is house trained and rides great in the car. This boy is a gem, he will be a very easy addition to your home. His adoption fee is $175. If interested in Auggie, please email hartmanshounds@gmail.com.December 20, 2024, 7:41 pm

Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Hi world!! My name is Smokey. It’s taken me a while to get the courage to introduce myself. My past is my past, and with your help and love, I am ready to begin my new life. I dream to be adopted by someone that loves a rainy night, where we can snuggle on a couch next to a warm fire. You, reading a good book, me resting my head in your lap while you stroke my silky ears. My ideal home will be quiet and stress free, as I am quite sensitive. I am not a party animal. I would like to have a sister or brother to help me overcome my shyness. You see, I have never been loved before. But I am so ready to discover how wonderful love can be. I know in time, with your patience and support, I can become the beautiful Collie that is waiting inside me. If you are a looking for total devotion, look no further than me!! Smokey came to us with an infection on his nose and has been under our very capable vet’s care that has been treating him with medication. Happy to report he has not only made great progress but it does not seem to bother him one bit. While the fur may not completely grow back, he is still one handsome boy..and who doesn’t want to be unique! If Smokey strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don’t wait! And if Smokey isn’t your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Story
Who doesn’t need an Otto in their life?! This youngster just arrived into our program and while he is still being assessed we could not help but post him. Otto was with his previous owner helping her get through some life struggles and was just a gem taking his job very seriously. Sadly, the owner felt that she could no longer provide Otto with the best home that he so deserves. The tough decision was made to bring him to us knowing we could find him the ideal home to match his needs. Otto loves to play as most youngsters do. As much as he loves to play, he will settle in for some cuddles and down time. House training is not only done but he will pause at the door for potty time. Tug of war is his favorite pastime so another canine companion would be nice but not required if he can have some fun play dates or doggie day care visits. Otto walks well on a leash but may need the occasional correction. Food motivated means he will be a quick study to learn all his Collie lessons. We feel that agility or rally would be right up his alley as being a Smoothie he is very smart. More information and photos will be coming soon so keep watch off our Facebook and Instagram pages while our website is still down. Otto is being fostered in SE Michigan If Otto strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don’t wait! Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Hi!! I have the perfect name to match my silky black coat. It wasn’t always this way though. My brothers and I spent most of our first year in a not so nice place. I never learned how to be a Collie. My foster pawrents are taking great care of me with good food which is not only super yummy but making my coat nice and shiny! They try hard to show me that new things can be fun and even thinks I am just a goofy boy. They have shown me something called affection, and boy, do I really like it!! So much so, that I will ask for a good ear scratch!! Or two or three!!! I am tall and I am pretty quiet. My favorite thing to do is play with my foster siblings, and cats are okay too. Toys and chew bones were unknown to me before I came here, but now I think they are just swell!! I’ve learned to catch and I’m starting to learn to fetch. I still like to go in my crate, it’s my den and safe spot but I get to keep the door open so I can come and go. I know how to ask to go outside and potty, but sometimes it takes me a while. I get scared of a lot of noises, but I am getting better each day. I’m walking on a leash with my foster siblings, but it’s still too scary to walk on my own. I’d really like to have a dog friend at my new home to keep helping me learn to play and go on walks. I hope you see the hope in my eyes that you will be my human. I really need you. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE REQUIRED Tulip is ready for her furever home! She came into our program through no fault of her own. She will need some finishing on the leash and with her manners around kitchen counters but she promises to work very hard on her lessons. A velcro dog that loves cuddles…well, enough from us…here is what Tulip has to say: “What can you say about a flower? That they’re always beautiful and have a wonderful perfume. You can always count on a flower to brighten your day. I guess that’s why they named me Tulip. I’m as pretty as a Posey! Even though I haven’t had much life experience and I have been a mother, I’m so easy going and laid back that you’ll be amazed I am only 5 years old as I have lots of Collie girl energy. I must say I really don’t appreciate cats or chickens. So, I’m kind of looking for a home that doesn’t have either one of them. I would love another dog to keep me company but honestly that’s not necessary either. The only thing I want to do is be the Collie of your dreams. Can you imagine you and I spending nights together on the couch cuddled up watching TV while it's snowing outside? You know I’ll keep you safe and alert you of anything that goes on. There is that saying as sweet as Tupelo Honey! That’s exactly what I am!!! If you want me to be your dream girl you better fill out an application fast because someone is good looking as I am isn’t going to be around the rescue very long.” If Tulip strikes your fancy and you are ready to help her continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today!
