Story
Meet Riley, also known as Smiley Riley, a charming tri-colored Rough Collie who's looking for his forever home. After the sudden loss of his owner, Riley is currently in a loving foster home where he's receiving all the love and care he needs to overcome his grief. This dapper fellow is as sweet as can be, with a patient and intelligent nature that makes him a joy to be around. He's eager to please and loves going on long walks, making him an ideal companion for an active person or family. Don't let his age fool you! Riley is best suited for a human or family that loves to hike and take long walks (he likes his daily 12,000 steps!!). Riley would like a quiet environment as he is still healing from the loss of his human. A family with kids is ok but he does need a quiet household as that is what he is used to. Riley gets along with other dogs but is fine to be your only pal and get all your attention. He has not been kitty tested but foster Mama has not noticed anything but curiosity with wildlife so herding or chasing a cat is probably not an issue. Riley's foster home is helping him heal, but he's ready to bring joy and companionship to his new forever family. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Riley might be the perfect fit for you. 6 FOOT PRIVACY FENCE REQUIRED Litter Mates Seek Forever Home Together Meet Pippi and Polly. Adorable Scottish Collie litter mates seeking a forever home where they can stay together. These two loving sisters have grown up side by side and share an unbreakable bond. Through no fault of theirs, they came into rescue and need your love. Pippi, the shy and reserved one, requires a special home with a 6-foot fence to provide her with the security and comfort she needs. She can startle easily, so a quiet and peaceful environment is essential. With patience and gentle care, Pippi will blossom into a confident and loving companion. She is learning that humans can offer love and kindness and will seek it out when she is scared. Polly, on the other hand, is more outgoing and calmer. She's the perfect big sister, always looking out for Pippi and providing her with the confidence she needs. Polly is a natural-born leader, and her presence helps bring out the best in Pippi. Story
PHYSICAL FENCE PREFERRED Scout came into our program when his owner felt he deserved a more active lifestyle than he was receiving. This is an incredibly special Collie boy who deserves to have all the boxes checked for him. Having been very well cared for, Scout is ready to start his new journey with an active family or individual. He’s got not only good looks but he’s incredibly smart, energetic and athletic. Unlike most of our Collie friends, he loves to fetch and will kindly drop the ball at your feet to go another round. Frisbee anyone? He is not shy to ask for what he wants going into a cute stretch and bow for attention. How cute is that?! When Scout is outside, he will twirl in circles with excitement. For this reason, we feel a fence would be in his best interest so he can play freely. Scout enjoys car rides and leash walks and will gladly walk on your left side as he works on his heel command. He has learned many verbal commands followed by hand gestures and of course praise when he obeys. Cuddles..yep! That works too for Scout and chin scritches are the best! He is good with dogs, kids, and humans but will try and herd and chase the kitties so a cat free home is best for Scout. If Scout strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if Scout isn’t your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application. Scout is being fostered in IN (Indainapolis area) If you are interested in this dog; and wish additional information, you MUST submit an application on our website.
