Story
Inga has been overlooked for far too long. She's an absolute lover, and a brainiac! She knows more than your average pup - sit, down, stay, place, touch, back up, shake, kennel up, roll over, spin, and the list goes on! If she doesn't know it yet, it will take her no time at all! She's also been started in sport dog training! She catches a disc, has medium food drive, and high toy drive. She knows catch, leave it, center, heel, out, take, and drop it (if you're a sports person, you know how tricky those can be to master)! She would thrive with someone as smart and active as she is, but don't let her enthusiasm fool you, she's a perfect snuggle buddy and has an excellent off switch and can be calm in her kennel for longer periods of time if needed. She's just the best! The adoption fee is currently waived. She is also receiving training from Good Dog Enrichment and Training, who will support her training for life! For anyone looking for a lost pet or considering adoption or fostering, we encourage you to make regular visits to the shelter. Please note that this website is updated every 24 hours and may not include all the animals available at CARE STL. If you are interested in a specific dog, such as (name of dog), we invite you to stop by the CARE STL Adoption Center located at 2700 Walnut Pl, 63103. Simply ask for more details about the particular animal you are interested in.

SHIPSEY Hey, I'm Shipsey! Check me out, I'm an absolute sweetheart! I'm 1.5 years old, a female with a unique mix of collie, pitty, and hound. I've got the sweetest personality and I just LOVE my toys and sunbathing in the yard! Here's the scoop on me: Super sweet and affectionate-major snuggler alert! Already potty and crate-trained, so I've got those basics down. Good with dogs, but I'd do best in a home with older kids. I've got moderate energy, so I like to play but also know how to chill. A yard is a must for me because I love to stretch my legs and enjoy the outdoors! Eager to please-so I'm always ready to learn and make my humans proud! I'm currently living with a foster and loving life, but I keep hearing that I deserve a forever family of my own. I've got these beautiful white socks on my front paws and a lovely white chest that makes me stand out from the crowd. Well their loss is our gain. Bert is a sweetheart.   He keeps his kennel clean, always happy to see anyone and does not complain.   Bert is good with other dogs and knows how to sit. Story
Hi there! I'm BiBo, a 1 year old Heeler mix with tons of love to share! I'm a sweet and happy girl that was found wandering, but luckily someone swooped in and offered to help me out! I'm living with a foster now and he says I am a good girl. I've got a great little personality and would love to be someone's furever friend. I do good with other dogs and love to play. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2130401##

Story
Hi, I'm Daize. I'm a 1 year old Border Collie mix. My foster says I'm a sweet girl and do really well at their house. I'd love a home where I can love my humans, play, and feel safe! I'm a little shy at first but warm up easily. I just need someone who is willing to give me the time and patience that it takes for me to adjust to a new home.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. We're a gourd-geous litter of Australian Cattle Dog/Heeler mixes. We were found dumped on the side of the road.
