Story
My mom recently passed and due to an unfortunate family conflict my caretaker has to move and can’t take me with her. I need lots and lots of exercise. I am also a star jumper and I can easily get over anything less than 6 feet. Im trained to wear a gentle lead cause I want to chase everything and it helps to control me on leash. I live with 2 other dogs/9cats and have had no issues getting along with others but act a fool if I see them walking by my house or crossing the sidewalk. Despite my size I am very powerful and need someone who can lead me. I try and herd everything. I would do great in a home that has land to run or hikes, camping and would take me everywhere on adventures. I love kids and people but I sometimes forget Im not supposed to jump on them. I also have a significant fear of trash trucks, semi’s box trucks and will freeze up or hide when I see or hear them. I need someone who will be patient and kind and love me even though I’m not perfect. Are you my person?

Story
Love Bear is a 3 year old Shepard mix. He was abandoned by his previous owner and is still a little confused on where his landing will be. In the time he has lived with us in our farm- he has been an absolute delight . He is a gentlemen to any and all dogs and cats he has met.  If you have a ball of any kind- you will be his best friend. I have learned they are his security blanket so he has many of them! He is hesitant with men, a secret of of his we just don’t know about so time patience and space and he will eventually warm up and learn to trust.    Bear is a perfect dog inside - he does not shed, he does not potty and is very good at finding you to go out when he needs. He doesn’t jump or get in your personal space. If you’re willing to let him in your bed, he will lay at the foot and not move all night but move when asked.   He loves to ride in the car and go new places but is still learning to walk gently on the leash so he doesn’t overpower his walker.     Bear is such a handsome boy with so much potential and he will make such a wonderful addition to any home! If you are interested, complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Lovebear’s adoption fee is $275.00, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. Story
Marley was a rescue. She is super sweet but has always been a little timid. She is older now (about 14) and we have had her for about 7 years. She had dental problems that are resolved but tends to like only wet to soft food. She does eat treats. She eats regular and is fairly healthy but seems to be losing a little hearing and a little of her eyesight. She also has a little arthritis in one hip but can get around just fine but better with a little pain shot and a daily pill that she can take crushed with her medicine. She currently needs a little Tender Care and would need retraining for going outside for potty. I don’t have a doggie door and work long hours. I would appreciate a respite myself.
