Story
Meet Buddy, a gentle, lovable 8-year-old Collie/Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his fluffy coat! Buddy’s life on a working farm has shaped him into a loyal, well-mannered companion who’s learning to navigate his new life off the farm. Weighing around 80 pounds, he’s a large dog with a soft, tri-color sable coat that will require daily grooming to prevent matting and keep him looking his best.Buddy is a peaceful soul who cherishes time with his people, whether it’s going for leisurely walks, exploring a fenced yard, or curling up on the couch. He has a calm energy most of the time but occasionally bursts into puppy-like playfulness, bouncing around with his favorite bouncy toy or pouncing at his plush toys. While he gets along with other dogs after a slow introduction, he prefers calm, respectful dogs who aren’t too pushy or high-energy. Buddy is also great with kids, though he appreciates gentle handling and a calm environment when he’s ready to relax.Though Buddy is crate-trained, he’s never been confined in one before and may need time to adjust. He’s vocal and isn’t shy about expressing himself—especially when he wants to join you in a room he doesn’t have access to, or when he spots animals outside that spark his protective instincts. Due to his love for the outdoors and his protective nature, a fenced yard is essential, allowing him the freedom to move and explore in a safe space without being tied out.Buddy’s medical needs include daily grooming, regular nail trims, and joint supplements to keep him comfortable and healthy. He tested positive for anaplasmosis (a tick-borne infection) and is on a course of antibiotics. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts calm and playful, Buddy could be your perfect match! To learn more about Buddy and if he’s a good fit for you, fill out an application using the link below!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They get along with strangers, kids and other dogs. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures. They are in a puppy teething mode so beware of fingers!! They are in need of all basic puppy training and just loads of love! A wonderful addition to any family. She is currently being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Meet Maverick! Maverick is just a baby who is still learning what being a dog is all about and is catching on very quickly. Whether it’s cats or dogs, if it’s got fur and it moves, Maverick automatically wants to play with it. This can be frustrating for senior dogs, while younger dogs will think that it’s great. Maverick likes to play with toys but gets easily distracted by the brand new world that is waiting for him to explore. Because Maverick is still learning manners, he would fit best in a home with older children. While he does well with not jumping on his foster mom, it is possible that he could accidentally knock a smaller child down. Overall, Maverick is pretty gentle and likes to snuggle with his foster mom from time to time. His crate training is coming along nicely and he can currently go for about five hours before needing to be let out. If Maverick sounds like your dog, complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Hi, I’m Sammy. I’m a collie beagle mix born approximately 3/17/21. I have the legs of a collie, but the beagle side of my personality is what comes out the most when it comes to sniffing. When I came to NDLB I was heartworm-positive and had a skin issue. I just finished my heartworm treatments and as you can tell from my pictures my fur has grown back beautifully. I get complimented on my coloring a lot when out for walks. Once I decide you’re my human I will stick to you like glue. I do well with my foster parent's dogs but sometimes if they are playing, I will mistake it for aggression and growl. I quickly stop if told no. Other than that, I get along great with them. I would be a great only dog since I love my humans. I go to the office with my foster mom and do well with all the customers that come in and the pesky office cats I just ignore. I’m quiet as far as barking unless I see deer or other critters on my walk. I sleep well all night on a dog bed in my foster parent's bedroom. I prefer not to be in a crate.  I do have separation issues when my foster mom leaves me at home and I have escaped from the house twice but as soon as she pulled up, I was right there by the car. This might be because I go to the office with her every day but it is something that needs to be considered. My foster parents think I’m super smart and maybe training and longer daily walks or a fenced-in yard would help with the separation issues.  I’m a very happy girl and love my walks but also don’t mind a good snuggle on the couch or right by your feet. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $395.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:33 pm

Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD This here is Brantley (but prefers the name Max). He is very sweet, playful and loves to cuddle. Completely potty trained but still not a fan of his kennel. He does have some anxiety when his humans are away, and this is still being worked on. He is a sweet boy but will need an understanding and patient home. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
This 2-year-old mutt brightens every room he enters! Nitro is all about his humans, offering endless loyalty, snuggles, and wet kisses. At 55 pounds, he’s still a true lap dog at heart, and will always find a way to settle in close and rest his head in your hands. Even though he spent six long months at the shelter, Nitro has an unwavering trust in people. He is house-trained and quick to pick up on rules, so he settled into his foster home with ease. He has come a long way with his crate training. When his foster humans go to work, he settles into his crate nicely with a benebone and a peanut butter kong toy. At night, he goes right to bed now that his crate is next to other resident dogs’ crates. He's making great progress on his confidence and his attachment, so his future family just needs to have patience and consistency in mind. Nitro picks up new manners and skills VERY quickly. We have been working on teaching the “wait” command to build door manners and he’s made significant strides with this, especially when it comes to duration. We are able to put him in a “sit / wait” while placing his meal on the floor and before going through any doors, and he waits several seconds for a release command. He already knows all basic commands and would be a great candidate for continued training in obedience or a sport!Originally believed to be a Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix, Nitro has traits of Black Mouth Cur as well. He’s high-energy and thrives on long daily walks and plenty of activity, but he’s equally content to relax indoors as long as he’s near his people. As long as he gets his daily exercise in, he has no issues with behavior or house manners. He could easily be left out to free roam in the house should his future family choose. He’s proven to be a social and playful dog, doing well with dogs of all sizes. Nitro’s playful side comes alive when he’s chasing toys or playing games of keep-away with his foster brother, always with a big smile on his face. While he hasn’t been around cats yet, his gentle demeanor suggests he could adjust with proper introductions. Nitro has also done really well with small children (3 and 4). In fact, he would probably love to be in a family with kids. He gave them lots of kisses and took treats gently. When they were playing and running around, he wanted to be right in the middle of the play. He even let our nephew stack toys on his back and played tug with him.Whether you’re heading out for a walk or curling up on the couch, Nitro is ready to be your loyal and loving friend! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Loki is a 2-year-old male Border Collie mix is the sweetest boy ever. Weighing 60 pounds, he’s a big snuggler who thinks he’s a lap dog, always ready to climb onto his humans for cuddles. He loves to give hugs, and will put both paws on your shoulders and nuzzle into them. This quirky pup also likes to lay down to eat his food (kind of like the rest of us who eat on the couch!). Loki has made great strides in house training and does well with potty breaks every 3-4 hours. At night, he might have an accident, but he adapts well to pee pads if needed. He isn’t crate-trained but does well sleeping in a separate room, where he’s calm, quiet, and non-destructive. Loki is pretty quiet overall, and while he loves being close to his humans, he settles well when left alone for a few hours. While he’s curious and playful with other dogs during slow introductions, he may need to be an only dog or live in a home with an experienced owner willing to work through some resource-guarding behavior. He is okay meeting other dogs if they are outside together, but inside gets a little bit trickier, so he has his own room that he seems very happy with. When it comes to cats, Loki shows curiosity without aggression and could likely share a home with feline friends. He loves all people, and has done well with older children, but his excitement and tendency to jump might be too strong for very young children. Loki is moderate-energy—content with lounging around but also enjoying bursts of playtime, especially fetch with tennis balls or toys. Loki is so smart and playful—he is happy to toss his toys around to himself and pounce on them, or bring a toy to you if you can't reach! He is affectionate, smart, and eager to please, making him a great addition to any family. A fenced yard is recommended so that Loki can explore outside, then after his adventure he's happy to return to his favorite place—right next to his people. If you’re looking for a loving, goofy, and deeply affectionate companion, Loki is ready to fill your life with hugs!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Meet Frank, a 1 year-old Border Collie/Labrador mix. Frank is a spirited and lovable boy bursting with energy and affection! He’s the perfect balance of playful and cuddly—whether he is chasing his favorite ball or curling up for snuggles he is happy.Frank can be a little shy and nervous at first, especially when meeting new people or hearing loud noises, but once he warms up, he’s a bundle of fun and energy. He’s incredibly intelligent and absolutely adores puzzle and enrichment games, which keep his curious mind engaged. When he’s feeling comfortable, Frank can entertain himself with a ball for hours, showing off his playful and independent side. While he’s still getting used to walks and the sights and sounds of the outside world, Frank is great on a leash. He’s learning to build his confidence and will benefit from a patient and understanding adopter who can help him navigate his fears.Frank thrives on companionship and prefers to be around people and other dogs. Though he does okay in his own space when needed, he’s happiest when he’s part of the action. He’s also making great strides in training, quickly learning commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” Frank responds well to “no” and “down.” He’s still learning which furniture is ok to be on and which isn’t, so he’d do best with someone willing to continue guiding him in this area. He is eager to learn and he’s a fast learner, so with guidance, he’ll master it in no time. Fully potty trained, Frank is a dream when it comes to house manners.Frank’s favorite thing in the world? Snuggling up in your lap for belly rubs. He’s the ultimate cuddle buddy and loves to share affection. He’s good with cats and other dogs, but we’re not sure how he feels about kids yet. A quieter home would likely be best for him, as loud noises and yelling make him nervous. The only things Frank isn’t a fan of are car rides and being in a crate—he finds cars pretty scary and will need some time and patience to get used to traveling. While he’s not a fan of crates, he’s been a very good boy staying in a bedroom when his foster parents are away.If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s smart, playful, and full of potential, Frank might just be the perfect match for you!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450.
