Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $250 plus taxMeet Finn Finn is an 8-year-old, 50-lb mellow guy who loves napping, short walks, and hanging out near his people. He enjoys toys (especially if treats are involved!), can be cuddly, and also appreciates his personal space. Finn is anxious around loud noises and reactive when he sees other dogs, so he’s looking for a quiet home where he can be the only pet. He hasn’t lived with cats but has ignored chickens. He greets people calmly outside the home and politely “announces” visitors with a bark. He does best with a predictable routine and would thrive in a home where someone is around more often—his current home’s 12-hour shifts are just too hard on him. Respectful children are fine. Finn is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and eats a prescription urinary diet. If you’re looking for a loyal, laid-back companion, Finn is ready to meet you.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
Hi! My name is Henry Waternoose, and I am from Arkansas! From his foster: Puppies don’t get much better than Henry Waternoose. He’s well behaved, easy going, and gentle. He sleeps through the night, happily greets strangers, and is highly food motivated which makes training easier. Need a buddy for the kids? Henry thinks tiny humans are great! Have a dog already? Henry loves to play! Although his name is from Monster’s Inc, his mission is not to collect screams but rather lots and lots of snuggles. Henry doesn’t like to snuggle up next to you. Henry likes to snuggle on you. If you think Henry sounds like he’s a good fit for your home it’s because he probably is.

Story
Location: Woodbury, MN Meet Shadow 🖤 (Professional Observer. Selective Snuggler. Equal-Opportunity Cuddler.) Shadow is the kind of dog who watches the room before entering it. He’s thoughtful, intelligent, and takes his job as “emotional barometer” very seriously. Once he decides you’re safe, he’ll reward you with quiet companionship, soulful looks, and the occasional dramatic sigh. He’s affectionate—but in a low-key, meaningful way. Shadow isn’t here to sit on your face or steal your snacks. He prefers leaning against you, settling nearby, and choosing closeness rather than demanding attention. Once comfortable, he happily shares his affection with the people he trusts — including curling up for a snuggle when the mood is right. Shadow is kennel trained, house-trained, and highly tuned in to his surroundings. He thrives with predictability, clear boundaries, and humans who speak fluent Dog Body Language™. Because he’s sensitive and perceptive, he does best with older kids or teens, and with younger kids only if introductions are slow and respectful. Energy-wise, Shadow is solidly medium. He enjoys walks, toys, and short play sessions—but he’s equally talented at napping. He walks nicely on leash, appreciates calm “sniff and stroll” walks, and does not require a fenced yard. Bonus fun fact: his recall is quite good when expectations are clear (he likes rules—don’t tell the other dogs). Shadow can live in a multi-dog household, especially with calm, socially appropriate dogs and humans who manage shared resources like food, chews, and prime nap spots. With the right setup, he’s capable of peaceful co-existence and selective play—but he’s not into chaos, drama, or free-for-alls. Shadow bonds deeply but not possessively. He’s not a one-person-only dog — once he feels safe, he’s happy to snuggle with trusted humans and settle in wherever the vibes are calm. If you’re looking for a smart, soulful dog who will quietly choose you (and then maybe your partner too), Shadow might just be the perfect addition to your home. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). She's got the perfect amount of puppy energy combined with superb cuddling skills. Juno is housetrained and is quickly learning new commands like "sit" and "down". She gets along well with her resident dogs and loves toys. Juno is working on gaining weight as she came into the rescue underweight, but she loves eating so will quickly get back to an ideal weight. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Jaxx, a true firecracker! He came into rescue scared and unsure but he’s been bravely settling in and letting his personality shine. This energetic little pup is always on the move, curious and ready for adventure. Snuggles aren’t his first priority as playtime and zoomies come first! Jaxx does have typical herding breed “nippy” tendencies so he will do best in a home with older considerate children who understand puppy behavior. Jaxx will do best with  a medium to large dog buddy to match his energy. He is reactive to small dogs and cats so a home without them is a must. A lot of mental and physical stimulation is a must for this guy, since he's an active herding mix who needs room to run and explore. He’s still learning about the world and can be nervous with new people and loud noises.  Potty training is underway  and he has been doing great peeing outside but still is working on pooping outside.  Crate training is a work in progress as he is getting used to the routine and improving each day. Jaxx can be vocal as many herding mixes are, so a home that doesn’t mind some puppy chatter is ideal.  With patience, consistency and training then Jaxx will be your loyal companion. He will thrive in a home with someone who understands herding breeds.  Jaxx is from a local impound. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
Petey is a 30-lb Border Collie mix—or a small dog with a big personality! At 2-years-old, he's a sassy younger sibling to his foster brother Max, always riling Max up in a hilarious way. Petey loves to taunt his brother with his hilariously cute "tough guy" growl when they play, making sure Max knows it's out of love, so they can end up in a classic cuddle puddle. Petey is house-trained and always eager to please. He lets you know when it’s time to go outside and is full of energy and fun. He is crate-trained, but does not enjoy being in the kennel alone. While he’s still learning some manners, he’s as sweet and good-natured as they come.Petey gets along wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely loves having a canine buddy to play and wrestle with—his foster brother has been a huge help in bringing out his confidence and playful side. He gets excited when seeing other dogs on walks, always ready to make a new friend. He’s also good with kids, but since he can be a jumper when he’s excited, a proper introduction is recommended first. Petey cannot live with cats.Petey’s favorite things in life are walks, playing fetch, and wrestling with his dog friends. Squeaky toys and plushies get destroyed with him! He’s happiest when he’s active, so Petey will thrive in a home with a fenced yard or a family committed to giving him plenty of daily exercise in other ways. Story
Meet Finn, the sweetest boy with the brightest smile! Finn is a friendly, playful Border Collie who’s ready to bring joy and energy into his forever home. He’s fantastic with other dogs and would love a canine buddy to romp around with—but he’s just as happy being your one-and-only adventure pal. This smart guy is fully housetrained, eager to please, and quick to settle in once he knows he’s safe. Finn adores walks, follows along beautifully, and lights up when it’s time to play with toys—tug, fetch, squeaky toys… he’s not picky, he loves them all. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a sweet heart and a happy-go-lucky spirit, Finn is your dog. He’s ready to explore the world with you, snuggle after a good play session, and become the best friend you’ve been hoping for. Finn recently met a couple of cats and did really well. He was curious, respectful and then quickly interested in other things! He also does well with older kids (age 12+) and loves to get lots of attention and snuggle. Finn is waiting to meet you—come say hello! Snapshot of Gordy: Size? Medium-Large (48 lbs) Activity Level? High -he is a border collie mix, after all! ;) Noise Level? Low Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Likely, but no children in foster home. Good with Strangers? Yes Potty Trained? Yes, with appropriate supervision and a schedule. Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Medium About Gordy: Hi, my name is Gordy! I also respond to Gordo, Gordito, Sir Gordon, and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I am an adorable border collie/lab mix who wants nothing more than a home to call my own--and, preferably, a ball to call my own as well. I LOVE to chase balls, and if no balls are around, I'll make do with chasing anything you throw for me--stuffies, sticks, ropes... the options are endless. My foster mom says that I'm amazingly well adjusted given my relatively rough history. I was 1 of 16 (!!) dogs rescued from a local home, and I haven't had the best care before now. For example, you might notice that I have a bit of a limp due to a wonky front foot. The vet says that this is likely caused by a ruptured tendon that didn't heal right. Fortunately, it doesn't slow me down at all! I also recently had 8 front teeth removed, including 3 of my canines, which were all fractured, likely from biting at the bars of a crate. Still, nothing can bring down my happy-go-lucky personality (except, of course, when my foster mom puts away my ball for the night). Something else you should know about me is that I tested positive for two tick-borne diseases, Anaplasmosis and Lyme. I received treatment and I don’t have any signs of chronic Lyme infection - which is AMAZING news! I will likely continue to test positive for both of these for the rest of my life due to chronic antibodies. It is possible that I could develop side effects from Lyme later in my life but for now I’m a happy and healthy boy! Here's a bit more from my foster mom: An ideal home for Gordy would be one that can give him lots of mental and physical stimulation. He really enjoys chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing tug with toys, and playing fetch. He's also a smart boy and has picked up on sit, lay down, and crate up very quickly. We're working on some new commands for him to show off! I think he'd do great with someone who enjoys having a dog that can be a companion to them on a variety of adventures! Gordy is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age.
