Story
Name: Baily Age: 1 year Gender: Female Breed: Collie/Terrier mix Weight: 45 lbs Dog friendly:  yes Cat friendly: no cats, please   Child friendly:  yes House trained:  yes Crate trained:  yes Energy level:  Moderate Temperament:  playful, intelligent, outgoing, social Requirement: Not apartment appropriate but could be in a townhome or duplex  Adoption Fee: $375+tax To adopt, go to:   www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family:  Baily is a sweet pup that you must meet!  She came up from Alabama where she was rescued off the street along with her mom and sibling. Although cautious at first, she quickly warms up to new people.  We would say she's a very friendly gal!  She enjoys ear scratches and belly rubs and she loves to play!!  She plays well with our two resident dogs and the resident 14-year-old human in the house. She is extremely intelligent and has learned several commands.  She knows "sit", "stay", "lay down", "drop it", and "come" to name a few.  She is kennel trained and goes in her kennel on command.  She is completely house trained and urgently alerts us when she needs to get outside!  Overall, she is a people-pleasing dog.  She is playful, yet very chill.  If you feel like being lazy, she'll happily hang out with you on the couch or entertain herself with a toy.  But when you're ready for an outing, she'll be your sidekick!  Baily loves to go for walks!  Currently she is working on leash manners and to walk without pulling.  The cold Minnesota temps do not deter this girl from being outside!  Even in below zero temps, this girl zooms around the yard and enjoys her time playing with the toys in the yard. We think she's a really easy dog and would be a happy addition to someone's family.   About Me:  First let me say, my bio pics don't do me justice!  I have the sweetest face, the most soulful black eyes, the most beautiful markings and velvety ears for rubbing. My foster mom tells me this, so I know it must be true!  I am playful, funny and love to engage with dogs and humans alike. My favorite hobbies include following my foster mom around the house, watching the neighborhood from the living room window, and playing fetch.  Another favorite activity is to wake up the children in the morning by jumping in their beds and looking for them under the covers!   I am still looking for a family to love and call my own.  Please reach out to meet me! Story
Meet Buddy, a gentle, lovable 8-year-old Collie/Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his fluffy coat! Buddy’s life on a working farm has shaped him into a loyal, well-mannered companion who’s learning to navigate his new life off the farm. Weighing around 80 pounds, he’s a large dog with a soft, tri-color sable coat that will require daily grooming to prevent matting and keep him looking his best.Buddy is a peaceful soul who cherishes time with his people, whether it’s going for leisurely walks, exploring a fenced yard, or curling up on the couch. He has a calm energy most of the time but occasionally bursts into puppy-like playfulness, bouncing around with his favorite bouncy toy or pouncing at his plush toys. While he gets along with other dogs after a slow introduction, he prefers calm, respectful dogs who aren’t too pushy or high-energy. Buddy is also great with kids, though he appreciates gentle handling and a calm environment when he’s ready to relax.Though Buddy is crate-trained, he’s never been confined in one before and may need time to adjust. He’s vocal and isn’t shy about expressing himself—especially when he wants to join you in a room he doesn’t have access to, or when he spots animals outside that spark his protective instincts. Due to his love for the outdoors and his protective nature, a fenced yard is essential, allowing him the freedom to move and explore in a safe space without being tied out.Buddy’s medical needs include daily grooming, regular nail trims, and joint supplements to keep him comfortable and healthy. He tested positive for anaplasmosis (a tick-borne infection) and is on a course of antibiotics. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts calm and playful, Buddy could be your perfect match! To learn more about Buddy and if he’s a good fit for you, fill out an application using the link below!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They get along with strangers, kids and other dogs. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures. They are in a puppy teething mode so beware of fingers!! They are in need of all basic puppy training and just loads of love! A wonderful addition to any family. She is currently being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
