Story
Hi, I’m Sammy. I’m a collie beagle mix born approximately 3/17/21. I have the legs of a collie, but the beagle side of my personality is what comes out the most when it comes to sniffing. When I came to NDLB I was heartworm-positive and had a skin issue. I just finished my heartworm treatments and as you can tell from my pictures my fur has grown back beautifully. I get complimented on my coloring a lot when out for walks. Once I decide you’re my human I will stick to you like glue. I do well with my foster parent's dogs but sometimes if they are playing, I will mistake it for aggression and growl. I quickly stop if told no. Other than that, I get along great with them. I would be a great only dog since I love my humans. I go to the office with my foster mom and do well with all the customers that come in and the pesky office cats I just ignore. I’m quiet as far as barking unless I see deer or other critters on my walk. I sleep well all night on a dog bed in my foster parent's bedroom. I prefer not to be in a crate.  I do have separation issues when my foster mom leaves me at home and I have escaped from the house twice but as soon as she pulled up, I was right there by the car. This might be because I go to the office with her every day but it is something that needs to be considered. My foster parents think I’m super smart and maybe training and longer daily walks or a fenced-in yard would help with the separation issues.  I’m a very happy girl and love my walks but also don’t mind a good snuggle on the couch or right by your feet. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $395.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:33 pm

These babies were brought to us after a lady’s neighbor left the pregnant mama. She kept the mom but could not keep her babies. This is a fun group of pups! They get along with strangers, kids and other dogs. They do well in a crate, usually just go to sleep. They would do well on hikes or other outside adventures. They are in a puppy teething mode so beware of fingers!! They are in need of all basic puppy training and just loads of love! A wonderful addition to any family. She is currently being fostered in TN but we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Meet Maverick! Maverick is just a baby who is still learning what being a dog is all about and is catching on very quickly. Whether it’s cats or dogs, if it’s got fur and it moves, Maverick automatically wants to play with it. This can be frustrating for senior dogs, while younger dogs will think that it’s great. Maverick likes to play with toys but gets easily distracted by the brand new world that is waiting for him to explore. Because Maverick is still learning manners, he would fit best in a home with older children. While he does well with not jumping on his foster mom, it is possible that he could accidentally knock a smaller child down. Overall, Maverick is pretty gentle and likes to snuggle with his foster mom from time to time. His crate training is coming along nicely and he can currently go for about five hours before needing to be let out. If Maverick sounds like your dog, complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Meet Buddy, a gentle, lovable 8-year-old Collie/Great Pyrenees mix with a heart as big as his fluffy coat! Buddy’s life on a working farm has shaped him into a loyal, well-mannered companion who’s learning to navigate his new life off the farm. Weighing around 80 pounds, he’s a large dog with a soft, tri-color sable coat that will require daily grooming to prevent matting and keep him looking his best.Buddy is a peaceful soul who cherishes time with his people, whether it’s going for leisurely walks, exploring a fenced yard, or curling up on the couch. He has a calm energy most of the time but occasionally bursts into puppy-like playfulness, bouncing around with his favorite bouncy toy or pouncing at his plush toys. While he gets along with other dogs after a slow introduction, he prefers calm, respectful dogs who aren’t too pushy or high-energy. Buddy is also great with kids, though he appreciates gentle handling and a calm environment when he’s ready to relax.Though Buddy is crate-trained, he’s never been confined in one before and may need time to adjust. He’s vocal and isn’t shy about expressing himself—especially when he wants to join you in a room he doesn’t have access to, or when he spots animals outside that spark his protective instincts. Due to his love for the outdoors and his protective nature, a fenced yard is essential, allowing him the freedom to move and explore in a safe space without being tied out.Buddy’s medical needs include daily grooming, regular nail trims, and joint supplements to keep him comfortable and healthy. He tested positive for anaplasmosis (a tick-borne infection) and is on a course of antibiotics. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s equal parts calm and playful, Buddy could be your perfect match! To learn more about Buddy and if he’s a good fit for you, fill out an application using the link below!https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD This here is Brantley (but prefers the name Max). He is very sweet, playful and loves to cuddle. Completely potty trained but still not a fan of his kennel. He does have some anxiety when his humans are away, and this is still being worked on. He is a sweet boy but will need an understanding and patient home. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application! It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Unfortunately, her foster has some upcoming obligations and cannot keep her long term, so we need someone who is willing to take her the distance. Katie will do best in a home with a four legged sibling to continue to help her grow and shine.  She loves walks and to run so would be a great running partner for someone. She enjoys toys and cuddles with the people she trusts.  If you are new to her, give her a few minutes to let her check you out.  Once she feels safe, she is yours for life. House Broken Kennel trained Walks great on a leash Good with Dogs and cats Older children over 12 are fine.  Very young kids move too much and too fast. Chin Scratches are the best Katie is a teenager who’s mastering the ropes of being a family dog, so she is still learning to just be okay no matter what sounds might be scary or that new people are just people and nothing to worry about. The perfect home for Katie will understand that a little bit of patience goes a long way, and they will find joy in seeing her personality blossom.  The right environment will see her flourish into a perfect member of the family, and her rescue community can’t wait to see her succeed. Potential fosters or adopters should be willing to invest time in building a strong bond with Katie. A gradual introduction to new experiences and people, along with positive reinforcement training. Having a confident dog in her new home would be a great benefit to her as she can learn from them to trust the humans around her. Story
Hi! I’m Spankie, a Cattle Dog mix who's almost a year old .  I came to Minnesota from Arkansas and am really loving meeting new friends while looking for my new home.  I’m a happy dog who loves the company of my humans. My favorite thing is cuddling on the couch in the evenings.  I’m curious and playful and love to play with other dogs. I'm energetic and a big player but will listen to other dogs once I get to know them and they tell me to cool it. I'm still working on some of my house manners like not jumping, counter surfing or finding other things to play with then my own toys. I default to being submissive, flopping on the ground to show my belly, but am becoming more comfortable the longer I'm in good care. I've loved having human foster siblings (9 & 11) for a bit while I've been in Minnesota and I have been around cats previously and don’t have any issues with them.  I understand basic commands such as sit, down, kennel and coming when called (if I’m not distracted by excitement) and am eager to learn more every day with the help of yummy treats! I’m potty trained and will let you know in the morning when I need to go out.    I'm very comfortable sleeping in my crate and am quiet throughout the night. I also stay in there while my foster family is gone and may whine a bit at first but calm down with time.  I love going for walks and have been doing well walking on a leash, although still working on not pulling when I see something exciting.  When I'm not following you around I like to entertain myself by playing with my toys and romping around in my yard. My personality is a good mix of independent and affectionate. I'd do great in a home with another dog or an active family.  I’m a fun and lovable boy who is so excited to meet my forever family! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
