Story
Hi, I’m Sammy. I’m a collie beagle mix born approximately 3/17/21. I have the legs of a collie, but the beagle side of my personality is what comes out the most when it comes to sniffing. When I came to NDLB I was heartworm-positive and had a skin issue. I just finished my heartworm treatments and as you can tell from my pictures my fur has grown back beautifully. I get complimented on my coloring a lot when out for walks. Once I decide you’re my human I will stick to you like glue. I do well with my foster parent's dogs but sometimes if they are playing, I will mistake it for aggression and growl. I quickly stop if told no. Other than that, I get along great with them. I would be a great only dog since I love my humans. I go to the office with my foster mom and do well with all the customers that come in and the pesky office cats I just ignore. I’m quiet as far as barking unless I see deer or other critters on my walk. I sleep well all night on a dog bed in my foster parent's bedroom. I prefer not to be in a crate.  I do have separation issues when my foster mom leaves me at home and I have escaped from the house twice but as soon as she pulled up, I was right there by the car. This might be because I go to the office with her every day but it is something that needs to be considered. My foster parents think I’m super smart and maybe training and longer daily walks or a fenced-in yard would help with the separation issues.  I’m a very happy girl and love my walks but also don’t mind a good snuggle on the couch or right by your feet. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $395.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:33 pm

Story
Hi, I'm Amina. I'm a happy-go-lucky year-old Collie mix puppy. I need a fenced in yard to play in and kids or an active person to play with. I enjoy very long walks and runs and lots of playtime. I'm very smart. I am willing to learn new tricks. My mommy lives in a small house with a small yard. She is a senior citizen and a disabled veteran. She is unable to give me the long walks and playtime that I really need. I play great with other dogs. I just have too much energy for my disabled mommy to keep up with me. I'd be perfect for a family! I come with a kennel, food, dishes, clothes, and lots & lots of toys.

Story
Meet Maverick! Maverick is just a baby who is still learning what being a dog is all about and is catching on very quickly. Whether it’s cats or dogs, if it’s got fur and it moves, Maverick automatically wants to play with it. This can be frustrating for senior dogs, while younger dogs will think that it’s great. Maverick likes to play with toys but gets easily distracted by the brand new world that is waiting for him to explore. Because Maverick is still learning manners, he would fit best in a home with older children. While he does well with not jumping on his foster mom, it is possible that he could accidentally knock a smaller child down. Overall, Maverick is pretty gentle and likes to snuggle with his foster mom from time to time. His crate training is coming along nicely and he can currently go for about five hours before needing to be let out. If Maverick sounds like your dog, complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Hi! My name is Gibson and I'm from Arkansas. Gibson has been such a good boy! He's still got a puppy personality even though he's just over a year old - "Gibby" loves to climb in your lap, wash your face with kisses, and wants all the attention you'll give him. But he's also house broken and quiet all night in his kennel! He didn't know how to sit or really any commands when he arrived a week ago, and is already learning sit, down, and wait super-fast...he's clearly a very smart dog. While he'll be getting heartworm treatment for a while, he LOVES to walk and might also be a good running companion at some point. He is friendly to everyone he meets but we haven't tested him with other dogs yet...I have a feeling he'd be good with them though. I think Gibby would also enjoy respectful kids - but they would have to protect themselves from a dog who wants to kiss them constantly! More to come as we get to know this cute guy! I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family.

Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD This here is Brantley (but prefers the name Max). He is very sweet, playful and loves to cuddle. Completely potty trained but still not a fan of his kennel. He does have some anxiety when his humans are away, and this is still being worked on. He is a sweet boy but will need an understanding and patient home. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application! This puppy sensation may not be from Memphis, but he's got the moves and the charm to rival the King himself. With soulful eyes that’ll melt your heart and a wiggle in his step that screams, “Love Me Tender,” Ronny is here to steal the show—and your affection! The Looks:A dashing little crooner with a coat as smooth as his serenades, Ronny’s style is classic yet electric, much like his namesake. You’ll fall for his perky ears and the unmistakable swagger that says, “Thank you, thank you very much!” The Personality:Ronny is a lover, not a fighter. He adores belly rubs, long strolls in the spotlight (or the park), and snuggling up for encore cuddles. He’s great with kids, other pups, and anyone who appreciates a good tail wag. The Talent:Whether it’s learning new tricks, dazzling with his polite manners, or simply being the star of your heart, Ronny is ready for his big break—a forever home where he can be the King of your castle! So, if you’re looking for a little less conversation and a lot more furry companionship, swipe right on Ronny, aka Elvis, and let him sing his way into your life!  * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxGracie is the happiest and sweetest girl with a pinch of sass and goofiness (and she's the cutest). Her tail is always wagging and she loves to be around people. She loves looking out the window and watching cars drive by, neighbors walking their dogs, and keeping an eye on those pesky squirrels. She also likes to look out the window to keep track of us leaving and waits for us to come home. It’s the cutest thing to see her sitting in the window. She spends most of the day looking out the window so she would love it if her forever family had a spot for her to watch the world go by. She finished her heartworm treatment at the end of January, but she is still on restricted exercise until the end of March when she can slowly be eased back into exercising. Once she’s able to exercise again, she would love to have a fenced in yard so she can run, chase squirrels and rabbits, and lay in the sunshine. She would also like to go for daily walks. She does well on a leash but will pull if she sees a squirrel or other small animal. She is a cuddle bug, especially in the morning so she would love if her forever family spent time in the mornings recharging her cuddle battery. She does not like the kennel, she gets very stressed, but she does well having the run of the house. As long food and trash are put away, she doesn't get into anything. She’s also not a fan of the car, but that could probably get better with positive reinforcement training. She is very smart and picks things up quickly. She hasn’t met any cats or dogs yet living with us so I can’t speak to how she reacts to new furry friends, but she has met kids and does well with them. If you’re looking for someone to go for walks with, play in the yard with, and then sit on the couch with, Gracie is your girl. And look at those ears!     If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption.
