My story is both heart-warming and heartbreaking, but I'm glad I found my way back to the rescue organization that can help me find the forever home I deserve. I can be a gentle and loyal companion who simply craves the love and attention that every dog deserves. Despite the neglect I experienced in my previous home,I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue. My shyness and caution around men is understandable, but with the right patience and care, I'm confident I will blossom into a wonderful family member. Here are a few key points about you that stand out: I am a loyal and humble companion who appreciates the simple things in life, like gentle pats and a calm voice. I may be a bit shy at first, but will warm up to people and become the heart of the home. I would do best in a quiet, loving environment, and would make a great match for older children or a veteran looking for a furry friend. Despite the neglect in my past, I have adjusted well since being returned to the rescue.  I truly believe that with the right forever family who is willing to give me the time, patience, and love I deserve, I will flourish. Meet Aspen – A Sweet, High-Energy Love Bug! This adorable pup is looking for a loving forever home where he can grow, learn, and bring endless joy. Friendly and affectionate, he loves to cuddle up with you on chilly days and play in the sunshine with his sister. He’s ready to thrive in a home that can provide plenty of love, patience, and playtime. His Highlights New People: Loves making new friends! Children: Unknown but shows a friendly demeanor. Food Removal: No food aggression—good manners. Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Cats & Other Pets: Unknown, but he’s eager to meet everyone. Personality: Friendly but a little shy at first. Once he warms up, he’s a true cuddle bug who loves attention and affection. Energy Level: High – he’s always ready for an adventure or a fun game of fetch! Potty Training: Work in progress—he’s doing great with pee pads and learning fast. Leash Manners: Can be a bit of a puller but is eager to learn with guidance and practice. A Little More About Him This sweet pup is learning the ropes of home life and making great progress! He’s already showing potential with commands like “sit” (especially when treats are involved) and is responsive to learning. He’s still mastering his name but responds most of the time. With some consistent training, he’ll be a superstar in no time. He does well with baths and taking medicine (a slice of hotdog with a hidden pill does the trick!). Chew toys and rawhides are a must to keep him entertained and away from furniture chewing. Crate training is also in progress—he may whine initially but settles down quickly. Rocky, blue heeler / red heeler mix, 8 yo, neutered male, 42 lb Rocky is very calm, sweet and seems to always be in a good mood, happy to join any activity or just be around. He has unique fuzzy heeler coloring, mostly silver wit a little bit of red. He is loving and dog friendly, wags his tail when meets a new dog. Loves to run and investigate outside, you can see joy and anticipation on his face. Was surrendered due to owner moving. Rocky would make a great companion to someone who prefers moderately active and mellow dog.  Adoption fee $325.
