Story
If sweetness had a face, it would belong to 2-year-old Pongo! The 42-pound tan and white beauty is a beguiling blend of affectionate and active as she swiftly settles into her foster home. She loves snuggling with her foster parents, resting her head on them and having her belly rubbed as much as she loves hugging them and sleeping in bed with them at night. Known for doing a cute little spin when she’s happy, Pongo does that same little spin when she’s about to play, wrestle and run around the yard with one of her equally playful doggy foster friends -- the more the merrier for this most playful miss. Agile, athletic and at work on her leash skills, Pongo especially enjoys going for long walks, runs and hikes, and since she’s adaptable to any situation, her calm and easygoing nature also makes her an ideal brewery dog because she loves everyone she meets. In fact, when she recently met a 6-year-old girl, she treated her so sweetly and so gently, and even gave her a little kiss on the nose! Comfortable on car rides and around the resident cats, motivated mainly by love, Pongo presently knows “sit,” prefers tiny dog biscuits, is well behaved when uncrated and is diligently at work on her house-training. Now she’s eager to do a cute little spin for active and adoring adopters, preferably with a playful canine companion, who will complete her training, including her commands, and ensure that she’s kept content, mentally and physically, fur-ever. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375.
