Story
Clifford is mostly Chow. He weighs around 60 pounds and we estimate he is around 2 years old. He was dumped on the side of a rural road with a litter of puppies and was rescued by good Samaritans. Clifford is a super wonderful dog. He is sweet, gentle, and good-natured. He especially loves puppies and gentle children. We do not know how he would do with cats. Clifford is a very good boy. He is crate-trained, sits on command, and walks well on a leash. Texas is extremely hot, and Clifford is happy to be in his crate inside the air-conditioned house. We are working on housetraining and he could probably use other gentle obedience training. Clifford rides well in a vehicle but is a bit nervous about getting into the vehicle. He is shy with new people (especially men) and takes some time to trust. Clifford is sensitive and scared of mean voices, rough treatment, and dogs that are mean to him. We are sure he was not treated well by whoever had him before. Clifford needs to be treated gently so he will trust you. Once he trusts you or another dog, he becomes happy and playful. Clifford deserves a wonderful home. He must be in the house as a loved member of the family. He must be walked on a leash and have a fenced yard to run and play. Clifford is neutered, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Clifford has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-free. He gets monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Clifford is ready to change his zip code. He is located in Texas but can be transported after he is adopted. Clifford's adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Vancouver WA. MEET LUTHER! Luther is a handsome and shy 2-year-old German Shepherd-Chow Chow mix in need of a foster or forever home. He was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter, along with his brother, and both were very scared there. He has since come out of his shell. Luther seems fine around other dogs, and would likely do best in a home with another female (though not necessarily). He can be playful. Luther is a friendly and affectionate fellow after he gets to know you, though is a little shy at first. He is loyal and loving to his person or people, and is a gentle soul. He's incredibly smart and attentive and curious, and is quick to learn commands. Luther is also a quiet boy, and loves a good couch! He also loves treats and is food-motivated. Luther would do well in a quiet home with a person, couple or family with teenage kids. He weighs approximately 60-65 lbs. Please email for an application.
