Story
Cicely is such a lovely puppy. Very cuddly & sweet. Great with other dogs and all people. She is going to be someone’s best dog ever! This 14 week old puppy is small & mighty. There’s nothing she loves more than snuggling with her people. But, if she can’t do that she is happy to wrestle with the other dogs. Cicely came into rescue after being found in New Mexico. The shelter there put her straight into a foster home and then transported her (&her brother) straight to us. She has had 3 of her 4 required puppy vaccines so far. And will be spayed, & vaccinated against rabies when the time is right. She’s still a baby after all. She is microchipped, dewormed, and ready for a family all of her very own. Are you ready for unlimited love & adoration? Looking for a puppy that will follow you any and everywhere? Then Cicely is your girl. Don’t let her get snatched up by someone else.

Story
Meet Kernel (aka Max), your soon-to-be best buddy! Hi there! My name is Kernel, but my foster mom affectionately calls me Max—and I kind of like it. I might come off a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and you'll find me curled up in your lap, handing out kisses like it’s my full-time job. I get along great with the other pups in my foster home (they're all around 35 lbs. and under), and I’ve even had some fun with the neighbor kids! Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so the jury’s still out. I walk nicely on a leash—though sometimes I get a little excited and try to lead the way. A secure yard where I can zoom and sniff would be ideal, and I’d love a doggy sibling to hang out with while you’re out. Snuggle time is very high on my list of favorite things, so don’t be surprised if I sneak into your arms for a cuddle session. I’m potty trained, and while the doggie door is still a bit of a mystery to me, I’m getting the hang of it with practice! Life’s giving me a fresh start, and I’m ready to soak it all in—especially if it involves adventures, soft blankets, and someone to love. Bonus: my ears are ridiculously cute. Come meet me—I have a feeling we’re meant to be! Please email ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to schedule a meet & greet.

Story
Hi! I’m Coal—I was whelped on 10/14/2025 and it’s been estimated that when I’m grown up, I’m going to weigh between 25 & 30 lbs. I’m a handsome little guy with a big heart and an even bigger curiosity about the world. I’m already showing off my calm confidence. I love to snuggle up close when it’s time to relax, but don’t be fooled—I’m also playful and always ready to explore something new. New sounds? New toys? New friends? I’m in. My foster mom says I have a gentle, steady vibe. I’m curious without being wild, confident without being bossy, and I really enjoy being around my humans. Whether it’s quiet cuddle time or a fun play session, I’m happiest when I’m included. If I don’t say so myself, I’m also quite smart. I already know how to sit (see the pic of me with my littermates) and I’m working really hard on my house training! If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly puppy who’s equal parts calm companion and playful explorer, I might just be your perfect match.

IMPORTANT!! Due to time and staffing constraints, ALL inquiries/questions MUST BE accompanied by your completed Adoption Application (Matchmaking Questionnaire). See above for the link to the form. Any inquiries/questions sent without the completed form will NOT receive a response. Thank You for understanding. Affectionate "special needs" Ginger is 4 years old and in search of a loving home that is as special as she is. Ginger had a rough start in life and for the first year of her puppyhood she was strictly confined in a tiny crate with only a few potty breaks. As a result, she suffers from claustrophobia and is terrified of leashes. Despite all this, Ginger is a loving and friendly girl who likes nothing better than to jump up on your lap for a tummy rub, or sit beside you on the couch watching TV. She also loves sleeping in bed with you. She likes toys and chew bones and running around out in the back yard. Ginger is good with other pets and us perfectly potty trained. She uses the doggie door and never makes a mess. Ginger would be the ideal companion for someone who doesn't take their dog for a walk and just wants a friendly and loving pet to be their best friend. Her adoption fee is $125 and includes her spay and all shots.

Story
Buttercup is a sassy little chihuahua mix who is approx. 6-7 years young and 14 lbs. This sassy but adorable girl is searching for her perfect person. Background: For several months, Buttercup and her pals were living on the streets and being fed by people in the neighborhood. As a result, she gets nervous around new people and it takes a while for her to trust you. Personality: Buttercup takes a while to warm up to people. Once she selects you as her person, her excitement to see you begins to show through tail and body wags, talking to you, jumping on you, but will shy away when you try to pet her. She is wary of new people, but we are working on her socialization skills and she is making progress. Once you break through and earn her trust, which may take up to 6 months, Buttercup will reluctantly allow you to do short back and butt scratches, will shadow you, and sleep near you. Buttercup is food motivated and enjoys treats (although she doesn't like fruits or vegetables). In her free time, Buttercup enjoys going for walks, sunning herself in the backyard, and hanging out with other household dogs. Health: Buttercup is up to date on all vaccines, spayed, and microchipped. She does have seasonal allergies and is on medicine. Training: Buttercup is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. She does not use a dog door. She knows the commands: come, crate, and leave it. Ideal Home: Buttercup requires a special home with love, patience, and a family who will continue to work on her confidence-building. Since she tends to snap when she is scared, Buttercup would thrive in a child-free home with a confident female owner who will be patient and help her break out of her comfort zone. She is used to being around other dogs in her foster home, and does best with calm small to medium size dogs. Buttercup likes someone to accompany her when she goes outside. A secure, fenced-in yard is essential to ensure her safety. She learns from other dogs and would benefit in a home with another dog that will allow her to cuddle and share their crate. Adoption Requirements : Buttercup’s adoption fee is $350. If you think Buttercup is the dog for you please review the following adoption requirements.   Must live in the Phoenix metro area Must have a securely fenced yard Ideally have a dog companion for Buttercup to bond with.  If you are interested in Buttercup please complete an adoption application*: helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application .  *Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up.  September 7, 2025, 12:04 pm
