Story
A25623 Foghorn is a tan with white and black colored, approximately 2-year-old, 80-pound, neutered male, Akita / German Shepherd mix. He entered the shelter as a stray on 02-11-2025 and was altered by our medical staff. Foghorn is a friendly, happy and easy to handle boy here at the shelter. Our staff describes him as a big handsome boy who is friendly and confident. True to the Akita breed he is sometimes more curious about his surroundings than paying attention to you. He is easy to handle and eager to get out of the kennel. He was easy to leash and excited to go for a walk. He pulls moderately exploring and smelling everything during his walks. He will need some training as he does not respond to any commands. Our staff says he would be great with an active family looking for a playmate. He showed no interest in other dogs here. Foghorn will be a fun-loving family member in his new forever home.

Story
Taru is a 2 year-old spayed female Alaskan Malamute who was surrendered due to the owners moving. Taru weighs in at a whopping 188 pounds with an ideal weight around 80 pounds. It takes her time to get up and walk around due to her size. She will need a balanced diet and regular activity to help her get down to a healthy weight. At the shelter she is growly with other dogs so a meet and greet is recommended if you have other dogs in the home. Taru knows sit, but it takes her a minute due to her size. She is nervous in the shelter environment and due to her size making it difficult to get around we recommend no small children in the home since their fast movements might make her uncomfortable. If you are looking for a pet to kick start your fitness journey with Taru is your girl!
