Story
Voltaire is a 1 year old dog who weighs 86 pounds. He came to the Sacramento SPCA from Pasadena Humane Society, so their shelter could have space for animals affected by the fires. He’s a big boy that is a total athlete in the making. If having an Olympian by your side sounds like your thing, Voltaire would be more than happy to oblige. He`s named after the philosopher because he`s not just brawn.. but brains to boot! Strength, speed, and smarts too; with the right trainer this guy would definitely shine!Voltaire recently went on FURlough where they reported he is affectionate, concerned about his people (which includes strangers), and eager to please! If you fall down, Voltaire will be there to make sure you get up! He was polite on leash, loved meeting new people and quickly became attached to them. He truly is a gentle giant. Voltaire is excellent at fetch and knows how to drop the ball when he brings it back.My adoption fee has been sponsored by a loving fan!I don’t have a history with dogs. I may do well with a slow introduction to new dogs.I don’t have a history with cats. I may do well with them with a slow introduction.I don’t have a history with children but I may do well with them.If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. We recommend coming in as early as possible, as adoptions are first-come, first-served.
