Story
**ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE A HOME VISIT, YOU MUST LIVE IN BROWARD & PALM BEACH COUNTIES** Meet Cam – The Resilient Little Lover Boy Cam’s journey hasn’t been easy, but this 6-month-old Chinese Crested is ready for a fresh start, filled with love and care. Cam began life as an outdoor breeder dog on the west coast of Florida, where he and his family survived not one, but two hurricanes. Despite his rough start, this little guy’s heart is wide open for the right home, and he's eager to grow stronger every day. Cam is learning the ropes of potty training, and he’s already showing progress! Right after mealtime is his prime potty time, and he enjoys having someone by his side to cheer him on and ensure he’s getting it just right. His sense of humor will warm your heart! Thanks to proper nutrition, clean water, and a safe environment, Cam is becoming healthier and stronger. He is currently free from any ailments but will need time to rebuild his body. Cam is a "hairy hairless" Chinese Crested, meaning he has some patches of fur, not completely bald. His skin and coat are already showing signs of improvement! Due to his difficult upbringing outdoors, Cam does have some separation anxiety and thrives when he has space to feel safe and secure. A home where someone is around often would be ideal, not only for his comfort but also to help him with his frequent potty breaks as he continues his training. If you’re ready to welcome a special puppy into your life and have the time, patience, and love to offer, please consider giving Cam the forever home he deserves. He may have had a rough start, but his future is as bright as can be – especially if it’s with you!  This dog's adoption fee is $600 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested please fill out the adoption application For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page.   *All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. They don't live in cages or crates (unless there is a medical reason to do so.) They are treated as family pets while in our care. * All dogs in our care are fed premium brand holistic food as well as supplements and vitamins specific to each dog's needs. We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble, our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health. .*All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, such as full cardiac workups, and ophthalmologist visits, all suspicious lumps, and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises. ##2210132##

Story
**ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE A HOME VISIT, YOU MUST LIVE NEAR BROWARD & PALM BEACH COUNTIES** Meet Ciara – The Elegant, Resilient Lady Ready for a Fresh Start Ciara is a beautiful and gentle young Chinese Crested who has already faced more challenges than most but she remains a bright and joyful spirit. Rescued from an outdoor breeder, Ciara survived two hurricanes, showing a level of resilience that is nothing short of inspiring. Now on her journey to healing and happiness. Ciara was diagnosed with heartworm disease because she was not on Heartworm Prevention before. Heartworm is a mosquito-borne disease, but with the right care, it is treatable. She has started the recommended protocol and is on the road to a healthy future. If you'd like to learn more about heartworm and it's treatment, The American Heartworm Society is an excellent resource. Her treatment will continue at our Broward County vet over the next few months, and she’ll need a loving home to cheer her on every step of the way. Ciara is looking for a dedicated forever family to support her through her heartworm treatment and beyond. Get A Life Pet Rescue will cover her treatments at our vet. The adopter will administer her medications in her food. Affectionate and undeniably joyful, Ciara has a playful side that will melt your heart. She loves to zoom around the yard, her gentle spirit shining through as she plays like a puppy. As a "hairy hairless" Chinese Crested, she has a unique coat that requires regular skin moisturizer—a treat she absolutely adores! Ciara closes her eyes in bliss during her spa treatments, making it clear that she appreciates the pampering she deserves. Once Ciara reaches her full, healthy weight, she will likely be around 10-12 pounds. This lovely 2-3 year old, girl is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter filled with love, security, and joy. If you're searching for a loyal and loving companion who embodies resilience and grace, Ciara could be the perfect match. Are you ready to give Ciara the forever home she deserves? She’s waiting to bring joy, loyalty, and a touch of elegance into your life.  This dog's adoption fee is $600 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). Story
Chacha is a bouncy little girl who came from a difficult situation, in a home with over 100 other little dogs.  She seems so happy to be getting attention and wags her tail whenever she hears her name!  Loves to snuggle. She is an excellent jumper and might have a future in agility. Chacha is working on her leash skills, but seems to be housebroken.  She is about 10 pounds (though she could stand to gain a little weight), about 2 years old and cute as can be!  She is now up to date on all her vaccinations and has been spayed.  Chacha does best with female humans! Applications for Chacha are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions.  We background and vet check all applicants and are looking for stable homes.November 7, 2024, 8:51 am

Story
LOOKING FOR IMMEDIATE FOSTER OR ADOPTER Stitch is a 9 pound chihuahua mix boy who we think is about 15 months old. He came in with his sister, Lilo. He makes the best goofy faces! Stitch is outgoing but has anxiety around new people and other dogs (whether he sees them or just hears them), so he needs someone that is familiar either with Chihuahuas or dogs with anxiety. He is a barker when scared. He does love to run to his humans for comfort and likes to be held and babied. He is a playful little guy when he feels comfortable. Making good progress with housebreaking. He can be adopted with Lilo or separately. Foster applications are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/fostering Adoption applications are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions We background and vet check all applicants. Story
LOOKING FOR AN IMMEDIATE FOSTER OR ADOPTER   Lilo is a little pipsqueak- 5 pound chihuahua mix girl.  She came in as a stray with her brother, Stitch.  We think they are about 15 months old and seem to have a love-hate relationship.  She treats him like an annoying little brother.  They can be adopted or fostered together or separately.  She was being fostered in a home with children and would be fine with gentle, older, kids.  She loves to be held and babied.  We have brought her up to date on vaccines and testing.   Lilo has been diagnosed with a heart murmur (a ventricular septic defect), but the cardiologist feels that it will not impact her quality or length of life.  She does not require medication or any special treatment and now that we have a diagnosis, she will be spayed. Lilo needs someone with some patience, and preferably some experience with Chihuahuas as she has anxiety about meeting/seeing/hearing people or dogs she doesn't know. Foster applications are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/fostering Adoption applications are available at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions We background and vet check all applicants.November 10, 2024, 4:32 pm
