Meet Ciara – The Elegant, Resilient Lady Ready for a Fresh Start
Ciara is a beautiful and gentle young Chinese Crested who has already faced more challenges than most but she remains a bright and joyful spirit. Rescued from an outdoor breeder, Ciara survived two hurricanes, showing a level of resilience that is nothing short of inspiring. Now on her journey to healing and happiness.
Ciara was diagnosed with heartworm disease because she was not on Heartworm Prevention before. Heartworm is a mosquito-borne disease, but with the right care, it is treatable. She has started the recommended protocol and is on the road to a healthy future. If you'd like to learn more about heartworm and it's treatment, The American Heartworm Society is an excellent resource. Her treatment will continue at our Broward County vet over the next few months, and she’ll need a loving home to cheer her on every step of the way. Ciara is looking for a dedicated forever family to support her through her heartworm treatment and beyond. Get A Life Pet Rescue will cover her treatments at our vet. The adopter will administer her medications in her food.
Affectionate and undeniably joyful, Ciara has a playful side that will melt your heart. She loves to zoom around the yard, her gentle spirit shining through as she plays like a puppy. As a "hairy hairless" Chinese Crested, she has a unique coat that requires regular skin moisturizer—a treat she absolutely adores! Ciara closes her eyes in bliss during her spa treatments, making it clear that she appreciates the pampering she deserves.
Once Ciara reaches her full, healthy weight, she will likely be around 10-12 pounds. This lovely 2-3 year old, girl is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter filled with love, security, and joy. This dog's adoption fee is $600 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble, our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health. .*All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, such as full cardiac workups, and ophthalmologist visits, all suspicious lumps, and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises.
