Story
Meet Karley! I'm a quiet little, 7lb adult chihuhua mix who loves to cuddle! I am dog friendly with other mellow pups (have not been cat tested) but prefer a mellow home that is free of young children and lots of activity. My most favorite thing to do is nap and then work on my chew toy when I wake up. Short walks are ok but sometimes the outside world can be a little scary. However, I do enjoy having a fenced in yard and love hanging out in the sunshine. I have been doing really well going potty outside when on a consistent schedule. Sometimes though I need a little help getting outside or some patience using potty pads inside if the outside is intimidating at the moment. My confident foster siblings help me feel safe and I take cues from them so other friendly small dogs are important for me. I'm a little gal looking for the perfect home where I can feel safe and blossom. Since I’m so tiny and sweet, I can find new things and loud noises a bit scary but I just need time to feel comfortable and more confident. I definitely prefer females and need a lot of time to warm up to men, so would need any men in the home to be extra patient with me. Once I’m familiar with the people and pets around me my real personality comes out. I need a family that will be patient and understanding and let me do this on my time and when I’m ready. I am a stubborn little girl and do not like to be pushed. Once I’m comfortable I can show you just how playful and sweet I can be. My foster mom says I am the easiest dog in the world to love. I know my ideal home is out there and looking for me too. Is that home yours?? *Karley is being fostered in Milwaukee, WI. Story
Meet Archie! Age: senior Weight: 10 pounds Good with: kids (I live with two small humans and get along just fine with them), dogs (I prefer smaller dogs, but only bark at bigger dogs so they know who the boss is), I haven't met any cats just yet. House trained: yes, but sometimes I mark, so I wear a belly band so I don't have any accidents, and I really don't mind it one bit. It's easy peasy! Crate trained: yes Hey folks, Archie here! I’m a peppy little frenchie-chi mix. Look at these ears! Adorable!! I’m a friendly little fella and always ready to meet new human friends. Feel free to pick me up! I’ll lick you in the face and snuggle on your lap. I enjoy sleeping on the couch (the top cushion please! I am the boss after all), going for walks and sniffing around the yard. One of my favorite things is chasing toys and ripping all the stuffing out of them! Grr, I’m tough! At night and when the humans are gone for a long time, I snooze in my crate and it's my cozy place. Now that it's getting a bit colder, you can find me under the blanket. I hardly bark, so would probably do fine in an apartment. I’m all ready to go to my new forever home now, so come meet sweet little me! I promise if you make me a part of your family I'll show you all of my love! *Archie is being fostered in Madison, WI. Story
Meet Chloe! Age: Golden Oldie Weight: 11lbs Breed: Chi/Terrier mix Good with: dogs of all sizes, cats and older kids House trained: Yes but needs frequent potty breaks Crate trained: Yes Special needs: Would prefer someone home often to let her out to potty, home with no or limited stairs (or willing to carry her up/down) Chloe is an independent, confident and bright golden oldie that enjoys daily walks around the neighborhood to show off her leash skills and meet new friends. Her absolute favorite time of the day is meal time/snack time and since she can’t tell time, she is always ready to chow down. Once her tummy is full she loves to be near her people on a cozy dog bed. While she’s cute and happy to be near her people, she is not a big cuddler, but perhaps she is waiting for the right family before she tries. While this curious and quiet girl has been a pleasure to host, her foster family reports that she is not a fan of her face being touched, so it’s recommended that she not live with small children. She’s still happy to be picked up and carried around, she’s great in the car and is happy to join you on adventures. Chloe has a luxating patella and some arthritis, which is typical for a dog this age, but neither seem to bother her on walks. She can do a limited number of stairs, but should be in a home with few/no stairs or a family willing to carry her. Chloe is as sweet and quiet as she is cute. This tiny lady is so deserving of a home of her own, could you be the family she is looking for? Story
Meet Kartwright! Age: senior Weight: 21 pounds Good with: Dogs, cats (kids unknown, since I don't live with them, but older kiddos I'm sure would be right up my alley!) House trained: yes Crate trained: no need for a crate, since I'm pretty perfect! Special needs: deaf and blind, but don't let that scare you away! I get around juuuust fine! I also take some thyroid meds, but that's easy breezy too, and it keeps me healthier! Hey there, I'm KartWright, but my foster mom calls me Kart, and my foster brother thinks I'm a Huckleberry. No big deal though, since I'm deaf and blind, so names are just names, right? Anyway, don't let my disabilities fool you, I'm still a total adventurer! I can find my way around the house in no time, and when I want something, you'll definitely know about it, because I'm not afraid to use my voice. Food, outside, attention - you name it, I want it! I'd prefer if my new human was home more often than not, so I can get all the things whenever I want! I'm an old guy now, and foster mom says I deserve to get all the things! Oh, and did I mention I love blankets and couches? Like, seriously love them. Sleeping next to you in bed would be paw-some. I'm also super chill with other dogs, like, any size, doesn't matter. I'm currently crashing with six of them, so I'm a pro at doggy playdates. I'm not too shabby with cats either, since I enjoy my alone time, so we can just hang out and do our own thing. I'm house-trained, as long as you stick to a schedule, and car rides are a breeze, but leashes, not so much. My foster mom says I'm a laid-back pup that just wants to be happy, so if you're looking for a chill buddy! *Kartwright is being fostered in Columbus, WI. Story
Meet Lily! Age: senior Weight: 10 pounds (I'm just an itty bitty!) Good with: adults House trained: I use potty pads, but still have accidents sometimes. I'm working on being the best girl I can! Crate trained: in my foster home I am gated in the kitchen if my foster parents go away. Special needs: I can't hear a dang thing from a lifetime of chronic ear infections, and my ticker isn't that great, so I can't have some procedures that are recommended. Let me give you a little back story about how I came into rescue. I was found left alone after my owner passed away. I was very scared and hungry! I'm working on trusting that people want the best for me. I'm still a bit timid and don't always understand that I'm not going to be hurt by humans, and they just want to love me. It takes me a bit to warm up, but foster mom says after months in foster care I'm really starting to enjoy butt scratches and car rides. I'm still not a fan of being picked up and my fear of it makes me a little snappy about it, but if you use a blanket to pick me up, I'm more comfortable with it. Foster mom says she can see my desire to be a loving pet! I have even started to show signs of wanting to play with her! I'd thrive in a home that is low key, where I can be the only pet, as I don't have many socialization skills with other pets. I'll need my forever people to help me understand that I'll always get fed, and work with me on some of my food guarding. I get super excited about meal times and will run in happy circles, but I also seem to think it might get taken from me. I'm absolutely going to need a lot of patience and understanding from my new family, but I promise that once I settle in, and we work together, I can be the best girl. I WANT to be the best version of myself for you! *Lily is being fostered in New Glarus, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.
