Poor innocent, sweet & forgotten about Gapy, was ready to be euthanized in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He had zero public interest & zero rescue interest on social media. An email went out for help & this beautiful boy was on that list. Yes, it appears at the age of 3 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable. We rescued this beautiful boy & 2 other sweet baby dolls out of that same kill shelter from that very same kill list all at once. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Gapy who is now looking for his very own forever home who will never give up on him again & love him just as his foster mum & we do. After we got Gapy all his care with his amazing foster mum he will be bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find his loving forever home. We truly believe that Gapy was originally someone’s dog & they just did not want him anymore from his mannerisms & his behavior of knowing certain things. All this boy wants is to be loved & have a home to call his own. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we got him out of the shelter his nails were so extremely long & his nails were clipped by our vets but will need to be & regularly dremeled to get them to a good place. Gapy at times can have a big personality & knows what he wants. He isn’t the biggest cuddler but enjoys being patted & being loved. He is a independent little man. That being said, Gapy is a good eater, he loves to eat & he is making up for lost time & put on weight instantly in his foster home. Gapy’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard. He also enjoys sunning himself in the backyard & also sitting on the couch & looking out the window, he really enjoys taking in the sites. But he will also do his own thing. Gapy has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. Gapy rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. But has done amazing in his foster home. We are looking for a forever home for Gapy where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them & there must be another dog in the home for him to thrive. Gapy loves other dogs & needs another dog in the home to play with. This is mandatory for his new home. This boy enjoys going into a crate sometimes so that tells us that someone used to call him to go into a crate. In his foster home he sleeps in the bed with his foster mum or will sleep on the dog bed. Gapy is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Gapy has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. It’s mandatory for him to be in a home with a playful dog. Gapy is roughly just over 6 years old & 21 lbs & is perhaps a dachshund & chihuahua mix, (chiweenie), male. He had a dental & polish & we got him neutered. Gapy is, microchipped, heart worm negative, up to date on his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. We are currently treating Gapy for a bad skin infection. We have spent far more on Gapy, with all of his medical care getting him well thank his adoption fee comes close to covering with, neuter, paying his shelter fee to get him out of the shelter, shots, flea meds, dewormer, boarding, dental scale & polish etc. Gapy has been around cats since being in the rescue & did well with the cat in his foster home but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. Just because he got along fine with the cat in the foster home doesn’t mean he will get along with all cats. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Gapy was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Gapy’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Bernie was rescued in the nick of time from a shelter in Los Angeles mere hours before being euthanized. After being fostered for a month in LA he came to Renton. In only 3 months with us Bernie has shown us despite weighing 14 pounds he has a larger than life lovable and strong personality. Bernie is estimated to be about 8 years old and was neutered before coming to Seattle in December. He’s house trained and does well on a leash. He loves to play fetch and frisbee and can tag along for long walks no problem. Once he gets to know you, He loves to be in your lap and will spend as much time with you as he can. He loves pets, belly rubs, and playing tug-of-war with toys. Sadly we don’t know much about the first 8 years of Bernie’s life, but it’s clear he has a wariness of new people and feels protective of his spaces. Bernie would do best with an adult only home, possibly with other small dogs to help show him how to be at ease. Recommended behavioral training or experienced owners.

Is getting rehab, but long walks or exercise should be adjusted based on his condition. 2⃣ Rescue Story * Miracle was brought to the Gimje Shelter with fractures in both hind legs and spine. Due to overcrowding, he couldn’t receive the care he needed at the shelter. Adogs rescued him, and he received orthopedic surgery and continuous treatment. 3⃣ Personality and Behavior • With People: Likes people and adjusts well! May be shy at first and after some time to sniff and explore, gets to be familiar to them. Once comfortable, he’ll wag his tail and approach for pets. • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. Is calm in nature, and prefers quietly watching others rather than rough play. * With Cats: Does not mind cats and has no issue. • Separation Anxiety: Unknown due to the group living at the center. May need training at the home environment. • Potty Training: Has ccasional potty accidents. When getting surprised or getting up after sleep, accidental potty is on the cushion. • Grooming: Very well-behaved during baths. Tries to avoid being touched on feet during toenail trimming. • Walks: Walks nicely without pulling on the leash. • Car Rides: Rides comfortably without motion sickness. * Nip: Has never nipped before. * Bark: May bark at strangers. * Like: Loves treats. * Dislike: Dislikes to get his feet touched probably due to getting hurt on them before. Cherokee is a sweet yet shy girl. She gets very attached to her person and likes to follow around, sleep and cuddle with them. She has a very Doxie personality; smart, opinionated, LOVES to eat and sometimes be vocal. She does not like to share her house with other dogs regardless of temperament, so she needs to be an only dog OR with a human that is very dog pack savvy. She is long and low, with the typical Doxie body, so all the normal Doxie long back protection steps should be taken. Not too fat, ramps, steps and such to prevent her from jumping down from high places. She grows crazy long toenails too, so be prepared to clip and snip regularly! She lets you know when she has to go outside. If you like a dog that likes to get dressed up, she's your gal! Bring on the dresses and sweaters! She does not necessarily need a fenced yard but would love to go for walks and probably no kids under 10. Meet Gravis 💛 Gravis is a 2-year-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) weighing about 15 pounds — the perfect compact companion with a huge heart. In December, six dogs were heartbreakingly abandoned in a cemetery. Only four were found alive — Tombey, Lillith, Wednesday, and sweet Gravis — and thankfully they made their way to safety. Gravis hasn’t let his rough start dim his joyful spirit one bit. Gravis is an adorable blend of playful puppy energy and devoted lap dog. He’s happiest when he’s: Wrestling with another playful pup Tossing around (and proudly de-stuffing!) his beloved toys Going for walks or zooming around the yard Sunbathing like a tiny king Snoozing peacefully in your lap at the end of the day He still has some charming puppy habits — like “helping” with gardening by digging small holes, collecting socks for safekeeping in his bed, and bravely alerting you to suspicious birds. On the bright side, he’s an excellent kitchen floor cleaner (no crumb left behind), a loyal bathroom security guard, and a dedicated playmate who will happily tire himself — and his doggy sibling — out. Gravis bonds especially closely with the woman in the home and may be timid around men at first. He does not have a mean bone in his body. He is potty trained, incredibly sweet, and keeps us laughing every single day.
