FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Hubble... yes, we know, Chihuahua Rottweiler - we are just as confused and giggling a bit, to us he looks like a Labrador mix. He and his brother Orson were pulled from a high kill shelter as a stray so we don't have much information on him. He's currently in a foster home and doing great. Like any new situation - Hubble took a few days to settle in, but is so loving and sweet. He's doing well in his crate, and great with the dogs. He recently met chickens (behind fencing) and goats - both were new to him and a little scary. But we were happy that he was more concerned than interested. His foster said: "Sooo Hubs is pretty awesome!" She thinks he is housebroken, other than the first day, no accidents and he is using doggy door. He's crate trained. Hubble is pretty chill and his breed make up has a little confused as to his final size, at just under 8 months old, he just weighed in a 40# - we are guessing he might be about 50# when fully grown. He's working on leash training. He loves other dogs and think he needs to be in a home with another friendly dog. With the recent snow - you'd think this boy was part husky.... he LOVED the snow, running and playing with his foster sister Rosie. Hubs would love a family willing to take him on adventures. He loves to use his nose, and run run run when playing with his dog friends. We think older children would be a better fit, 8 and older, because he's an active boy. He's a good car companion. This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He is heart worm negative. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking reminders, he is housebroken, but a new home could set that back - thus crate training. He's using a doggy door too. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Marysville / Arlington. Adoption fee is $475. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Story
Bruno takes a bit to warm up to new people. He is described as protective (really, what Chi isn`t?), active, playful and vocal. He has been outside most of his life, but really would like to learn the finer things in life. He does enjoy the occasional good car chase and will chase small critters, so leash work will be a positive. This guy will need some refinement, but he will be a fantastic companion.

Story
This cute little Jack-Chi is macho, opinionated and full of a good time. He takes a bit to warm up, but once he does, he gives tons of kisses and hops in his person`s lap. He enjoys sprinting in the grass, sassing big dogs and guarding and protecting. He has been with children and other small dogs.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there, I'm Popcorn, your friendly, goofy, gentle, curious, brave, mellow, funny, smart, playful, energetic, loyal, and a bit shy canine buddy. My journey to the shelter is quite a hilarious tale. You see, I was on a mission to dig to China from my backyard. I dug and dug until I popped up in the neighbor's yard. They were having a barbeque, and I thought, 'Why not join?' Turns out, they weren't as welcoming as I'd hoped. So, here I am, ready for new adventures with you. I'm a great listener, a superb comedian, and I promise to be the most loyal friend you'll ever have. Adopt me and let's make our own fun stories together! I'm a very outgoing boy and love playing with my kennel mates and friends. I am a little hesitant when I first meet people because I'm not sure if I can trust them. I need a quiet home where I can take my time to build confidence and trust. As you can see, I have a cherry eye. It doesn't bother me and can be surgically fixed.   To adopt this dog, please fillout an application at www.adoggie4you.org.  He was born around 12/01/2018 and weighs 21 pounds.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 12:09 pm
