Story
Animal Profile: Midge is a tiny cutie that is looking for a new home here in Seattle.  Midge is a happy, good-natured girl that is friendly with dogs and easy to handle. She is estimated to be 3 years old and weighs just 5 pounds. Midge is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW! Foster Update: Miss Midge says you can keep your long walks on the beach, your mountain hikes, and your Sunday mornings at the Farmer’s Market. You can also save your tennis balls and squeaky toys for a dog that cares. Midge is a card-carrying introvert and the first two words in her love language are Warm and Safe. This gentle and quiet soul chooses to spend most of the day napping in her heated she-shed (crate). If you want to woo this sweet girl, you’d be wise to invest in warm blankets, heating pads and tiny winter sweaters. She gets COLD! Tiny Midge was plucked from the toasty desert SW, and she does not appreciate our beautiful, crisp fall weather. I haven’t told her about winter yet. Don’t get me wrong, Midge isn’t standoffish. Once she feels safe, she will greet you with the most adorable wiggles and kisses. However, she is very sensitive and would do best in a nurturing, serene, adult-only household. She is polite with our small resident dog but doesn’t seek out his attention. Having a dog companion would be fine with her, or not. Bonus – Midge sleeps through the night like a champ, and she likes to sleep late!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is arriving from San Bernadino via Wiggle Butts Transport on Sunday 10/20/2024. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area. December 13, 2024, 5:23 pm

Story
Animal Profile:  Cricket is a very petite cutie that is looking for a new home here in Seattle.  She is estimated to be 5 year old, and weighs only 5.5 pounds! Cricket   is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW!  Foster Update: A true cuddle-bug at heart, Cricket is the definition of a "velcro dog." She loves nothing more than to be held close, nestled in your arms, curled up on your lap, or snuggled up in her little bed next to you on the couch. She's a champion sleeper and will happily snooze the day away by your side. Don't be surprised if she tries to climb into your coat or sweater for maximum snuggles! We like to call her the pocket-sized pup with a big personality. This little lady has a big personality packed into a tiny frame. She loves to prance around and be the center of attention. Cricket enjoys car rides and errands, always ready to be your stylish copilot. While Cricket is friendly with our small resident dog, she's not overly interested in playing with him. She'll cutely scrabble around the floor chasing a toy of choice, but really prefers to spend her time cuddling. She's a quiet girl who is also crate-trained and sleeps great through the night. She has done pretty well with her potty training, but will still need a consistent routine to get the hang of things.  Cricket would enjoy an adult-only home where she can be an active member of the family. She'll make an awesome companion while you work; glad to be burrowed in a warm blanket nearby. True to her chihuahua nature, she loves a good sunbathing opportunity and she thrives with leadership. She is loyal, and bonds quick & hard. She'll thrive with a family that can be the confident leader in the household, where she can follow the lead rather than feel the need to take on the role as pack leader.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Story
Animal Profile: Oliver is a petite chihuahua mix who is estimated to be around 13 years old and weighs only 6lbs. He was confiscated from a home with 41 other dogs, many of whom were seniors. Oliver has received his dental, vaccines, and blood work and is now Seattle-bound. He was rescued from Moreno Valley Animal Shelter in CA.  Foster Update: Meet Oliver! Do not let this boy's estimated age fool you - he has the spunk and stamina of a 2 year old pup. He doesn't fully appreciate his senior status, as he considers himself a munch younger fellow, and he proves it with the pep in his step as he prances around his foster home or out on his walks. Oliver is convinced that any bag can easily be converted to a dog bed with the right approach, and he is determined to show the world that senior dogs can have a blast too. Oliver is good with other dogs and cats, and he just adores his humans. We hope you're ready for a pup that melts your heart, because this boy knows how to lean into your chest and gaze into your soul. He'll gladly curl up on your side, and he is very accepting of pets and belly rubs. He is working on his crate training, and he is great about doing his business outside. His mobility is pretty good and he has the energy for long walks (check out his video!), but he can be a little wobbly/uncertain on stairs and struggles at times with his spacial awareness. Oliver received a full dental prior to his arrival in Seattle, along with all of his vetting and bloodwork. He is now officially ready to find his forever home in Seattle. He just wants to know, who is the lucky family that will welcome Oliver in? Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Story
Animal Profile: Mikko is an adorable chihuahua mix who is estimated to be around 2 years old and roughly 10lbs. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in CA and has now safely arrived to his foster home in Seattle.  Foster Update: Meet Mikko! His foster family shares, “ Mikko is super sweet and friendly with all people. He loves to cuddle, will gladly hop into your lap if you let him, and happy to say hello to everyone he meets. He’ll greet you with the cutest little kisses to say hi.  Mikko sleeps great through the night in his crate, though we are still working on his crate training during the daytime. He is on the younger side, with good energy. He thrives with engagement and mental/physical stimulation. Mikko would benefit from some ongoing basic training, along with an enriching lifestyle to help meet his needs. He has shown some interest in wanting to play with the household cat, and would do best with either a canine companion. He may do okay in a home with a cat, so long as the cat is comfortable with a pup that wants to interact.” Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. Meet Milton WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Milton - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey all you fabulous folks out there, I'm here in search of a home, a family...one I can say is ALL mine!! I am so ready for Christmas, is Santa coming to grant my wish? Since you're reading this, maybe you could tell him I'd love that family to be with YOU!! I am around 8 years old and came from a hoarding situation of 96 dogs all in a small house, yes 96 dogs, where our living situation wasn't very good. I am so appreciative of all the little things that most dogs take for granted. A kind word, a gentle pet, a soft bed, some tasty treats!! I am so very loving, coming for some pets every chance I get and my favorites are ear scratches and belly rubs. I would probably do best in a quieter home where my person(s) work from home or are retired.! I do great with people once I get to know them but would probably do best in a home with just older kiddos. I do wonderfully with the other dogs in my foster home from big to smaller and also the resident kitty. I am crate trained but will need some continued work on housetraining. My chill easy going personality will make a great companion pup for your family. I'd even be great for a first time pet parent!! I get so excited to see you when you get home even if it was just to get the mail!! I don't really play too much with toys but I do love snuggling on a soft blanket! I will also be your lil shadow, following wherever you go...that lil heartbeat at your feet! If you would like a BFF to help you with your errand runs, a constant in your life to share in your joys and sorrows...oh my, I AM your boy!!!! I come in at about 15lbs of pure love ready to unleash it ALL on you. If you think we could be a perfect match please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application. You can find it at haydudeequine.org

Story
Animal Profile: Jackie is a 1 year old, 10lb chihuahua that has been through it in her short life.Jackie was dumped in a graveyard in Texas with her brother, covered in mange. Once she received treatment and was healthy, she made her way to the PNW, with kennel cough. She recovered from that in foster care, and was adopted. Long story short due to a horrible accident in surgery for a potential obstruction, Jackie lost 75% of her small intestines. Her owner was unable to provide the care she needed during her recovery, and since she was suffering from short bowel syndrome she needed round the clock care. Jackie was returned to the rescue and put in the care of the Assistant Director. Medication and prescription food weren’t working to address her symptoms, so we attacked it from the nutrition side. With lots of patience and a quality diet of Honest Kitchen, dehydrated carrots, and a high dose of digestive herbs and enzymes, Jackie has normal, solid, pick upable poops!!  She did so well at an event with 75+ people, she can be shy but girl doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She loves other dogs, big and small, and even plays with cats! She is healthy and ready to find her forever home. Foster Update: Jackie is incredibly curious and goes with the flow. She's got lots of spunk and knows how to go go go, but also has a nice off switch when it comes to snuggling. She loves to play with the resident dogs in her foster home, and would do well with a canine companion or two but it isn't a requirement. Jackie is good in her crate and has good leash manners. She loves attention and is very affectionate. Basically anytime I have taken her out of the crate she jumps up to try and snuggle(we are working on curbing the jumping up part). She is very comfortable being carried and held and will be a wonderful addition to one lucky family! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from Animal Advocacy & Rescue our partner in Del Rio Texas and arriving via Paws Up Rescue on 04/15/2024 to the Seattle area. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. December 12, 2024, 2:50 am
