Cookie is one of seven pups we've welcomed from a foster's family in California. Aged between five and six months, they're a bit timid, with varying degrees of shyness, yet each has begun to blossom as they grow more accustomed to their surroundings. They would all thrive in a home that has another dog for companionship. Adoption fee is $400 www.mainstreetmuttrescue.com

Story
Hi, My name is St Patty, a 2-3 year old Chi-Weiner. I came from an abusive hoarding situation and have PTSD. The local rescue groups have given up on me saying I'm unadoptable because I am not a social dog and they want to euthanize me but my foster parents won't let that happen but they can't keep me. I'm a happy little guy and am always happy to see you when you get home but I'm not the come pet me cuddly type. You will be able to pet me if and when I want to be petted. My favorite place to sleep is under a blanket on the couch. I'm mostly quite unless there is a real reason to bark, like knocks on the door or if somebody new comes in the house. I will hide from strangers but if they come over often enough I will take treats from them. Please be patient with me. I don't trust humans very much. Do not try and adopt this little guy and expect him to be your best friend right away. You MUST have dedication and patience to build your relationship with him.

Story
Is this cold weather getting you down? My name is Max and there is nothing I love more than to be close to my person; so let me hop on up and keep you warm. I’m a 4-year old, 12 pound male Chihuahua mix and I’m still getting used to all of the new things happening in my life: meeting new people, exploring new houses, making new dog friends, healing from my new neuter… It has been overwhelming at times, but don’t get me wrong- once I warm up to new things I’m super calm and totally down to adventure!  I’m pretty good on a leash and love following my foster brother around!  I am housebroken and I am crate trained, but it isn’t my favorite place to be. I cry for about 10 minutes when I go in there, but I’ll sleep there with no issues and settle down quickly if I have to. I sure would prefer sleeping with my new person or on my very own bed. I ride really well in the car too! Even better when I snag the doggie booster and can look out the windows!  Living with another dog would be great- I’ve been friendly with all dogs I’ve met so far, from 10 to 65 pounds, but I’d be ok as the center of attention, too. I do get nervous at first, especially with fast movements near me, so respectful dog-experienced kids are a must if I have to live with smaller people. I have not been around cats, but I don’t show much interest in squirrels when I go on walks, so I would probably be ok with cats with a proper introduction. I am house broken, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Once I’m used to a new place I’m pretty quiet unless someone knocks on the door or my foster brother gets me riled up, but that’s pretty rare.  Oooh! I want to meet you! I’m cute, I know my name, I think I’ll eventually learn to sit, even though I don’t see the point because I’m only 5” off the ground. And I’ll also do just about anything for a hot dog! If you want to meet me too, please fill out a statement of interest and mention Max! https://alternativehumanesociety.com/statement-of-interest-dog/ ##2285586##

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport.
