Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Sully! He is a 10-year-old Chihuahua (maybe some corgi) mix who weighs 15 lbs. He was in a previous rescue in CA but was sent to us as they thought his chances were better here in WA. He can be snuggly but also high-strung. He’s friendly and seeks out attention but he can give warning if he doesn’t know you and he feels you’re being more friendly than he wants you to be .The last rescue described him as a grumbly old man. He just needs need some room to make up his mind about trusting you. What’s great about Sully is he’s fun, goofy and energetic and loves to go for walks. He is neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations. His fee is $200.

Story
Marzipan is a 5-year-old female Chihuahua mix weighing about 12lb. Marzi is sweet as sugar and a wonderful companion for her new human! She is very polite and will ask before she jumps onto furniture or moves into unfamiliar territory. She is great on a leash. She can be demanding attention and will need lots of reassurance and love from her new owner. She is very affectionate and loves snuggling with her human. She knows how to sit and shake hands. She is a terrific guard dog. She can be unsure of other dogs and will warn them away. She doesn’t always like to play and will decline familiar dog invites with a firm “no.” Marzi is a lady with a strong will that stands up for herself. Marzi is in foster care and is bonded with Benny. We are looking to adopt them out together. She is up to date on shots, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.

Story
Benny is a 7-year-old, 12lb Chihuahua/Terrier mix looking for his forever home. He is extremely strong-willed and loaded with personality. He wants to be in control and needs a strong alpha owner. Once he bonds to his person, he is a lover! Benny is a velcro dog. He keeps tabs on his human and likes to be near them and protective. He is very aware of his surroundings. He is territorial, but with consistent socialization, he has overcome much of his aggression. His forever home will need to continue socializing him, his behavior will continue to improve. He is a funny little guy that thinks he is a cat - he likes to stand on your shoulders or crawl on top of things to explore. Benny has a very strong prey drive and will chase cats, rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc. He is not an excessive barker and is quick to recognize recurring noises and adjust his behavior. He is extremely smart and learns fast. He is also a talker and he will talk until you figure out what he wants (humans are so slow). When he is not snuggling, he is very independent and does his own thing. He does not like to be disturbed when he is busy or sleeping. He knows how to sit and shake hands. He will guard resources at first, but not once he feels safe. He does not exhibit separation anxiety and is not destructive. He can react when his harness is put on or removed and seems sensitive about his tummy. He also reacts to entrances and exits as he does not like change. His forever home will need to give him lots of patience and support so he feels secure and can relax. Benny is good with calm female small dogs and some large dogs, he has very strong preferences in everything. His behavior will alter depending on his doggy friend. NOTE: Benny is fearful and untrusting with men. It's our recommendation that he be in a female household with no kids or cats. Households should have rescue or fearful dog experience. He will be aggressive when meeting for the first time. Benny is in foster care and is bonded with Marzi. We are looking to adopt them out together. Benny is UTD on shots, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Scotch! He is a 3-year-old, 15lb Chihuahua mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. Scotch is timid and shy and will need a patient adopter to help him learn to trust again. He is very uncertain in new situations and will need patience in allowing him to open up and feel comfortable. Once he trusts, he loves to sit on your lap and watch the world go by. He LOVES other dogs and we are looking for another playful dog in the home as they give him confidence. We are recommending no small children as sudden moves make him nervous. Scotch is UTD vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Bandit. He is a 2-year-old, 10 lb Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA and is looking for his forever home. He is currently living in a foster home in Edmonds, WA. Bandit is a sweet, shy boy who lacks confidence and will need to go to a home with another dog in it as they give him confidence. While he gets along with all dogs, he would do best with a calm dog as high energy, exuberant dogs may be too much for him. He tends to follow the other dogs lead. He can be quite the cuddler loves to be held once he warms up. He also loves to lounge in his dog bed which has a heated surface. He is looking for a quiet home with a patient adopter. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Animal Profile:  Pumpkin Pie is a bite-sized cutie that is looking for a new home here in Seattle. She was returned to the shelter with her pack-mate Apple Pie when her previous adopter found themselves in the hospital and unable to care for the two Chihuahuas. Pumpkin Pie is  a happy, well-natured girl that is friendly with dogs big and small, and she is easy to handle. She is estimated to be 2-years-old and weighs in at less than 6 pounds! Pumpkin Pie  is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW!  Foster Update:   Pumpkin Pie's name is really apt because she is the sweetest! She's a super easygoing, go with the flow kind of girl. But she's got a fun and playful side! She enjoys zoomies on the hardwood floors, soft beds, cuddling in front of the TV, dinner, and her crate. She's fully house trained. She does well with our other small dogs, but isn't overly interested in them. She'd be fine with other dogs but also probably great as an only pup. No separation anxiety at all but she prefers to be near people. She did great in the car.  Adoption Info:  Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History:  This dog is arriving from Bossier Parish Animal Shelter in Shreveport Louisiana via Tail Lights Rescue Project on 10/13/24. She will be available for adoption in the Seattle area. November 15, 2024, 11:39 pm

Story
Animal Profile:   Chico is a 1-year-old, 6lb male Chihuahua that was rescued from the side of the road in southern California. Unfortunately, this is all too common, and when no one came to claim him our rescue partners asked if we could help. Of course we said yes! Chico is heading to the PNW for greener pastures and can't wait to find his family. He is friendly with people and other dogs, and will make a wonderful companion. Foster Update:  Tiny Chico is so sweet and bursting with personality. He loves snuggling and being together. He is a great walker and wants to meet every dog he sees on the walk. He is an easy-going dog but also playful and fun. He is a good eater and isn't picky. He sleeps in his crate at night with no problems, but he would prefer to be sleeping together. He is house trained with regular bathroom breaks. He loves attention from people and being included; he will really bond with his chosen people. He is so cute, and he will look darling in some winter coats and sweaters! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health  certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.  Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued by our partners Angels of Rawley. Arriving  to Seattle area foster care on 10/06/24. He will be available for adoption once evaluated in foster care. November 8, 2024, 12:24 am

Story
Animal Profile:  Brisket is a bite-sized cutie that is looking for a new home here in Seattle.  Brisket is a happy, well-natured boy that is friendly with dogs and easy to handle. He is estimated to be 8-years-old, and will need a foster who will help him continue his weight loss journey from almost 13 pounds down to his vet recommended weight of 8 pounds! Brisket   is bound to find a lucky family here in the PNW!  Foster Update:  Brisket is a happy, hearty 8 year old chihuahua boy who loves to snuggle, go for walks, and be your shadow. He enjoys being outside and is up for long walks and short hikes. Brisket is easy to handle and very friendly. He is shockingly soft. He is wonderfully neutral with other dogs, and tolerates but does not engage with the pesky teenage dog in his foster home. Brisket has not had an accident in his foster home and is crate trained. He is generally quiet but makes a variety of gerbil-like noises when separated from his humans, though he settles nicely. Brisket's ideal home would have humans who are home more often than not. We haven't seen Brisket around cats yet but suspect he would be cat suitable. Brisket is down to about 10.5 lbs but still has more progress to go to his healthy weight of 8 lbs. We are looking for a forever home for Brisket who will remain committed to his health and weight loss.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, and microchip with registration. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Milton - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey all you fabulous folks out there, I'm here in search of a home, a family...one I can say is ALL mine!! Since you're reading this, I'm hoping it could be with YOU!! I am around 8 years old and came from a hoarding situation (100 dogs all in a small house) with some other pups where our living situation wasn't very good. I am so appreciative of all the little things that most dogs take for granted. A kind word, a gentle pet, a soft bed, some tasty treats!! I am so very loving, coming for some pets every chance I get and my favorites are ear scratches and belly rubs. I would probably do best in a quieter home where my person(s) work from home or are retired.! I do great with people once I get to know them but would probably do best in a home with just older kiddos. I do wonderfully with the other dogs in my foster home from big to smaller and also the resident kitty. I am crate trained but will need some continued work on housetraining. My chill easy going personality will make a great companion pup for your family. I'd even be great for a first time pet parent!! I get so excited to see you when you get home even if it was just to get the mail!! I don't really play too much with toys but I do love snuggling on a soft blanket! I will also be your lil shadow, following wherever you go...that lil heartbeat at your feet! If you would like a BFF to help you with your errand runs, a constant in your life to share in your joys and sorrows...oh my, I AM your boy!!!! I come in at about 15lbs of pure love ready to unleash it ALL on you. If you think we could be a perfect match please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application.
