Story
Meet Sandy, a delightful 4-year-old chihuahua mix who’s ready to fill your life with warmth and joy! Weighing in at just 12 pounds, this little sweetheart has faced some challenges, but her spirit shines brighter than ever. Sandy once had a wonderful home filled with love, and although her journey has been a bit bumpy since then, she’s now found her happy place in a cozy foster home. Sandy has a heart full of love and just wants to be close to her people. She adores going for walks and feels the wind in her fur during car rides. Playtime is her favorite—whether it’s fetching with her human pals or having fun with her doggy friends. A little caution is needed, though; if startled, she might get a tad nippy, so she’d prefer a home without cats and kids under 12. This precious girl is also quite protective of her loved ones, taking her role as a little guard dog seriously. While she may greet new faces with a bit of sass, a gentle introduction along with some tasty treats will help her warm up. Like many small pups, she’s a bit nervous during thunder or fireworks, but a tiny dose of trazodone will help her feel safe and sound. Sandy is quite the explorer! She’s clever and curious, so a securely fenced yard is essential for her adventurous spirit. And get ready for some giggles—watching her zoom around with her foster siblings will surely bring a smile to your face! With her food-driven motivation, Sandy quickly mastered the dog door in just 30 seconds, showing how eager she is to embrace her new environment. At the end of the day, all Sandy truly wants is a forever home filled with love—a family of her own where she can give and receive affection. With her sweet nature and loving heart, Sandy is ready to be your perfect companion, bringing joy and snuggles to your life. Will you be the special family she’s been waiting for? Sandy has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Story
Meet Deno, our delightful senior Chihuahua, who is nothing short of a little bundle of joy! With his sweet disposition, he fits right in with both cats and dogs, and his love for people is boundless. Deno thrives on companionship and adores being by your side, whether it’s snuggling up for a cozy nap or following you around the house, always eager to join your adventures. This little fellow (6 lbs.) has a big heart, and although he has a heart murmur, it doesn’t require any medication at this time. With a bit of medication, he’s living his best life and takes his seizure meds like a complete champ—just pop them in a pill pocket, and he’ll think he’s getting a tasty treat! Deno is not just a loyal companion; he’s also a quiet and gentle soul, who rarely barks. He enjoys his food but would thrive on a controlled feeding routine to keep him healthy and happy. His age, size and health wouldn’t mix well with young kids. His ideal home would be with a single person or couple. If you’re looking for a loving buddy to share your life with, Deno is your perfect match! He’s ready to fill your days with warmth and affection—don’t miss the chance to make him part of your family! Deno has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Deno, please complete an adoption application on our website -(uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Tammy, 801-230-9789 or email Tammygustaveson624@gmail.com.

Story
Hello there, future family! My name is Bruno and if you’re looking for an adorable 6-pound Chihuahua, you could just be my new furever family! I came from a life of love and affection, but my person got very sick and could not take care of me. Fortunately, UAAF was willing to take me in and look for just the right new home for me. You can tell by my photos that I’ve been on a few trips around the sun but for a 9-year old I am in great shape! I do take time to warm up to new folks, so I will need a family that is patient and understands that I may ignore them for a while. If you’re willing to give me a chance, I do get very snuggly once we are acquainted. I am easily startled and there is a chance I will snap at you if you try to grab me unexpectedly. I don’t want to hurt you but to a little guy like me, you are like giants! Once you get to know me, trust me, you’ll love me! I’m sweet and cuddly and so little! I’m not much trouble. I know how to use a dog door. And I get along well with other dogs but cats are a mystery to me. Will you be my best friend? Bruno has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and has been microchipped. Story
Meet Bambi! This tiny 7-lb. Chihuahua, about 3 years old, is a sweet girl who has so much love to give! Between her big ears, red and white coat, and gentle demeanor, it’s surprising how deer-like she really is. Bambi loves everyone, especially her people! She’s also good with dogs and kids (hasn’t been tested around cats). Even though it took her a little longer to warm up to her male foster, they have become great friends over just a few short weeks. Bambi’s chihuahua nervousness shines through when meeting new friends, but she quickly warms up and just wants affection and a lap to sit on. Though a little rambunctious during greetings, she soon settles in and just wants to snuggle in a blanket near her people. She’s getting used to the concept of personal space — all she wants is to smother you in love and kisses. Bambi has spent the last few weeks with her BFF, Tinkebell. Though not an officially bonded pair, being together gives them confidence and they are a great support to each other. They can be adopted together or separately. If they don’t stay together, Bambi would do best in a home with another dog. It has helped to have a friend to keep her company when her humans are away. Bambi doesn’t know a lot of commands like sit and shake but has fairly good recall and is eager to please. It is unknown how Tink does in a kennel solo, but she is content kenneled alongside her new bestie, with only occasional whining. Like all new pups, Bambi will need to be shown where to go potty, but after a couple of initial accidents at her foster home, her housetraining has been spot on! Bambi deserves all the love in the world. Her gentle sweetness might just be the secret ingredient your home needs! Check her out on Instagram @bambi_tinkerbell_the_fosters. Bambi has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Meet Tinkerbell or “Tink”! This tiny 7-lb. chihuahua, about 4 years old, is a spunky sweet girl who has so much love to give! Story
This little lady is Edith. Edith is a 10-ish Chihuahua, but don't let the age fool you. She is full of spunk and attitude. She weighs roughly 7 lbs., but she doesn't realize how little she is. Edith is not afraid of anything or anyone. She will tell you exactly how she feels or what she wants (she is very vocal). Edith will be the first to greet you and insist you pick her up and give her loves. She is such a cuddle bug. If you are winding down for the day, she will crawl into your arms and gaze into your eyes, letting you know she's happy and comfortable. When it's time for bed, Edith will climb under the covers and won't move until it's time to wake up. Edith loves walks, loves her toys and treats. Edith did have a dental and had several teeth extracted, so soft food is best for her. She has a heart murmur and needs to take a pill every day and needs to be on a special cardiac food. The good news is you do not have to hide her heart medicine in cheese or a pill pocket because she thinks you are giving her a treat and will take it right from your hand. Edith is getting the hang of potty training and she is potty pad trained as well. She really needs a home with bigger dogs or a home without other pets. She hasn’t been cat tested, but she is little jealous of smaller dogs and tries to put them in their place. Edith would be a great companion for a single person or couple who works from home or is retired. You couldn’t possibly ask for a more loyal and affectionate little buddy. Edith has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped.
