Story
Lucky’s year has been anything but lucky. Picked up as a stray, he found himself in a local shelter. For reasons past understanding, his family didn’t come to get him. His luck changed a bit when he was rescued by Animal Advocacy and began his search for a new forever home. Lucky is a Chihuahua/Pug mix, about 10 years old. Don’t think he’s too old to be a mischievous little guy. He loves to counter and table-surf, so make sure your chairs are tucked in! Lucky loves to play with toys and snuggle under cozy blankets. He’s a very affectionate little dog and loves to get attention. Lucky would do best in a quiet home with a couple or a single person (no children, please). Lucky is learning a new skill at his foster home – using a doggie door to go outside. He’s doing very well. He would benefit from some training and consistent rules to help him reach his full potential. He hates being told “No.” If you have a little bit of room, some patience and a desire for a cuddly buddy, you really should meet Lucky. Lucky has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Lucky and Maisie please complete our adoption application at uaaf.org. For more information, please text Maryjo at 801-809-0602 or email: maryjokorb@gmail.com.

Story
Take a minute to get to know Chloe. This sweet little dog recently lost her home because of a death in the family and she is still grieving. In her previous home, she was a devoted cuddle bug, happily curling up by her mom’s legs each night, enjoying a deep bond in a loving, multi-dog family. Now, she finds herself in a new environment where she’s still adjusting. Chloe appreciates having boundaries. She’s content sleeping on her cozy floor bed, feeling secure and at ease. When it comes to walks, Chloe does well on a leash and enjoys exploring. With a little encouragement, she will surely thrive in an outdoor adventure! While she gets along well with the canine companions in her foster home, Chloe prefers older, more laid-back dogs who respect her space. She enjoys roaming the yard alongside them, but gently shies away when younger, more boisterous pups try to snuggle in too close or lick her face. She would do best in a home without small children. Chloe’s health is a priority. She is on a weight loss journey that has already shown remarkable progress. Her new family will need to continue this journey with her, ensuring she maintains a healthy diet and regular exercise—rewarding her with the love and care she deserves. Chloe will also need regular dental check-ups, as her teeth require monitoring, but with the right care, she will continue to shine. She is working on learning house training in her foster home and is doing well. With patience and a loving touch, Chloe will flourish in a quiet home where she can feel safe and adored. If you’re looking for a companion who embodies sweetness and gentleness, Chloe is ready to fill your heart and ho me with love. Is your family the one to help Chloe really shine?l Chloe is spayed, current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Story
Topi was a tiny puppy in our program, listed as a Chiweenie and was adopted 3 years ago. Currently he weighs about 25 pounds. His family has had health problems and could no longer care for him so he came back to Animal Advocacy to find a new forever home. Topi was well loved and cared for by his former family, to the point of being spoiled. He comes with his crate, bed, and lots of accessories. Topi is a high energy guy and needs an active family, with lots of walks and playtime. He is trained, knows many commands and is eager to learn more. Topi can be nervous initially and can get overly excited. He is ok with older cats but likes to chase and bark at kittens when they race and jump around. He is great with medium to smaller dogs and nonaggressive large dogs. Topi is very trainable and has adjusted well to being in a foster home with many dogs, cats and small kids. Because Topi can be nervous and get excited, he might jump or knock over small children, so only children over 8, please. He is still young and mischievous and can get into things he shouldn’t, including getting the squeaker out of a toy. Fortunately, he does know what “No” means. Topi is crate trained and housebroken. Ask him if he needs to go potty or outside and he spins in a circle. Topi is an easy dog and eager to please. He will be a wonderful companion to the right active family. Topi has been neutered, is current on vaccinations, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org). Meet Topi, the spunky little Chiweenie bursting with personality and ready to bring joy to your home! This energetic pup, adopted three years ago, is now on the lookout for his new forever family due to some health challenges faced by his previous owners. But don’t worry—Topi comes with all the essentials, including his cozy crate, soft bed, and adorable accessories, making it easy for him to settle in! With a heart full of love and a playful spirit, Topi is always on the move, looking for adventures and fun. He’s well-trained and knows a variety of commands, plus he’s always eager to learn even more! While he may be a tad nervous at first, just give him a little time, and you’ll find a loyal and playful companion who will keep you entertained with his antics. Topi is a fantastic little alarm system—just wait until someone knocks at the door; his vocal playfulness will surely catch your attention! Topi gets along famously with medium-sized to smaller dogs and older cats, though those playful kittens might stir up a little too much excitement for him! He thrives in an environment with large, respectful dogs and has adapted beautifully to his foster home, where he enjoys the company of other pets and kids alike. A bit mischievous and full of curiosity, Topi is easy to train and eager to please his family. Just keep a watchful eye on him around small children—his bubbly energy can lead to some accidental chaos! All in all, Topi is a delightful, spirited pup who will make a perfect addition to any active and loving household, ready to share his sunshine and love with you! Topi has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org). This little guy is full of love and looking for his forever best friend to cuddle and shower with kisses! With a spring in his step and a charming little prance, Max is sure to steal your heart. He adores his people and enjoys snuggling up for cozy moments. Max is friendly with other dogs and loves to wrestle and run around the yard with his foster doggie siblings. He hasn’t been tested around cats yet. Treats are the way to his heart, and he’s already picking up new routines, including using the doggie door! Max sleeps in his kennel at night and often chooses the bed in his crate for daytime naps. Max was found as a stray and is still adjusting to new environments. He can be nervous around men and is sensitive to loud noises and harsh voices. A patient and gentle home will help him build confidence. Story
Hi! I’m Candy! Freshly arrived from New Mexico just in time to be your Valentine. I love to sleep in a doughnut bed, or a fluffy blankie next to you on the couch. I’m happy to follow you around the house, sit in the corner and wait for you to go to the next room, and hope for a pet along the way. It takes a bit for me to warm up to new places and things, so small children would be difficult to share space with. I share space well with my two medium size foster brothers, and learned the day’s routines easily through following their lead. When it comes to affection, I will squeeze into the prime petting position no matter who I have to crowd out. Between fight or flight, I choose the latter; so while we get used to each other, a leash is essential for walks and time outside if your yard is not enclosed. I’ve learned to give cats space, but their food bowls are another story (I can be quite stealthy and acrobatic if necessary). I have a “Clean Plate Club” membership. I’ve shown a bit of my playful and energetic side to the humans I live with, but the cat gets so grumpy I have yet to show the full extent of my enthusiasm. When I get a chance to live out of a cat’s disapproving gaze, who knows what heights I might climb to for your love. Will you be my Valentine and let me Candy-coat your life?Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Story
This long-legged beauty is Ellie! Ellie is a 1 year old Chihuahua mix who is just as sweet as can be. She is super shy at first, but when she gets to know you, she wants loves and pets and cuddles. Ellie's foster mom has not heard her bark and thinks she would be great in an apartment setting. Ellie is a playful gal with her foster fur siblings and loves to play with toys. She steers clear of the cat in her home as she doesn't know what to make of him. Ellie is crate trained and prefers to chill in it sometimes. She loves the 12 year old in her home and was smitten with her from the beginning when she was still nervous of the adults. She is still learning house training and is let outside often. Sweet, adorable and affectionate! Dogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. Story
Lacy is a 12-year 9.3 pound eloquent and majestic long leg beauty Chihuahua mix, all white with a little tan on her ears. Lacy came to be a CAWS dog after she was abandoned in a shelter, so sad at this time of her life but she is safe now for the rest of her days. These majestic long legs make her weeble and wobble a bit or better known as ataxic in the rear limbs (an awkward gait, uncoordinated walking pattern that is characterized by an irregular foot placement and a wide base, which may have a tendency to fall). But it is this walk that makes her unique and precious, it is more of a dainty and expressive pace. She also has some back pain, just a frail little old lady but such a magnificent little old gal, unique as can be. She is totally house and crate trained, if you don’t get her out she looks at you and gives a whine to let you know it is time to be let out. She gets along with all the other dogs in her foster home, male and female, big and small. She is a little on the slender side so we are trying to put a pound or two on her. Lacy had a dental with 18 teeth extracted. The anesthesia was really hard on our little lady but she put on her big girl panties and astoundingly pulled through this ordeal like an awesome trooper! She had a couple wart type things between her eyes removed while she was under too. She does a loud yelp when she needs your attention or to let you know she must get back in the house. For this loud yelp Lacy has to go to a house with a yard and 2-legged people who work from home or can take her to work with them or retired so she is not alone. She does okay in a crate but we do not want her to live in a crate now at this time of her life. She does like to cuddle on the couch and sleep with her 2-legged people, but she is okay with a bed on the floor too some of the time. She gives the softest, gentlest kisses, so dang sweet. Due to her age she should go to a family with no kids or older. If you can give this superb little lady a safe and secure home with unconditional love for the rest of whatever time she may have left, please fill out an application for a meet and greet. Lacy could most surely have many many years ahead of her, and we believe with all our heart she has a very precious long life ahead of her, she oozes pure sweetness and joy. Lacy should have never ended up in a shelter but she crossed our path and so now will find her furever lasting home that she is so deserving of. She takes your breath away.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Story
There's nothing 2nd class about Clarence! This 8 year old, 8lb adorable chihuahua mix is nothing but love. He wants nothing but to be right next to his person. If you are looking for a constant lap warmer, Clarence is your guy. If you want a bed cuddler, if you want a constant shadow, this is your little dude. He gets along well with other dogs in the house but he is pretty protective of his person and is not the best at sharing. He doesn't need wings to show you what an angel he is, and at the same time, he's a good guard dog. He's usually quiet, but if there's something to alert him, he will vocally let you and everyone know! So he probably won't do well in an apartment or a place with shared walls. Overall, he's a sweet calm man, and just wants to live out his golden years with all the cuddles you can handle. He's also house trained and crate trained. Meet Felix! Felix is a 5-year-old Chihuahua with a big personality packed into his 10-pound frame! While he may be a little shy at first, once he warms up, he’s the life of the party—outgoing, affectionate, and always ready to play. He absolutely loves running around with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. This energetic little guy has plenty of zoomies to burn, so regular playtime and walks are a must. While he’s great on a leash, he isn’t a fan of being crated for long periods and will let you know about it. But don’t worry—Felix is house-trained and ready to be your loyal little shadow. He has a low grade heart murmur that needs to be monitored but he doesn't need any medication for it at this time. He also a little bit or arthritis that he takes daily pain meds for. But neither one of these slow him a bit down!Felix is fantastic with other dogs and kids, though his thoughts on cats are still a mystery. He’d do well in an apartment as long as he gets enough exercise and attention. His ideal family would have another playful pup to keep him company and people who appreciate his affectionate, soulful gaze—one look into those eyes, and you’ll be smitten! If you’re looking for a loving, energetic companion who will shower you with attention and tail wags, Felix is your guy! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
