Story
Hi everyone! My name is Snoopy and I am a Chihuahua, Miniature Australian Shepherd mix. I'm a 14 pound ball of energy! My perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. I'm always up for an adventure in nature! I love jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards we can relax and snuggle on the couch. I'm very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, we can play fetch or tug of war with my favorite squeaker toy. We can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. I dislike walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for me and makes me prefer the safety of home. I'm also sensitive to certain noises and will alert bark. I've been wearing a remote controlled citronella collar to help when I get overwhelmed with barking. I'm protective of my home, especially with strangers. Once they walk through the door , I will bark, growl, and nip at them. What helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. Sometimes, I can be reactive towards other people or dogs while on walks, but it's mostly because I am fearful. A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: Experienced dog owners that can work with my reactivity and can get me the necessary training No young children A home located on a quiet street away from heavy traffic A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses I'm shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect my boundaries. However, I can be comfortable with them over time. ##1867517##

Story
Meet Popcorn A Tiny Dog with a Big PersonalityPopcorn is a 10-pound Chihuahua with a big heart and a soft spot for cats. At first glance, you'll notice how adorable he is – but this little guy is more than just a cute face. Popcorn is looking for a patient, experienced home that understands the unique needs of a senior pup who’s had to figure life out on his own terms.Popcorn has cataracts and limited vision, so he startles easily – especially if he's woken up abruptly. For this reason, he’s not a fit for homes with children or a home that has many visitors and will need a calm, quiet environment where he can feel safe. Once he trusts you (and that might take some time – think weeks or even months), he’ll allow gentle pets and might even sneak in a snuggle on his terms. He’s very food-motivated, which helps with building trust, but he’s also protective of his meals and treats, so he must be fed separately from other pets. Popcorn loves cats and would absolutely thrive in a feline-friendly home. He’s cautious with dogs but can coexist peacefully after a respectful introduction.Popcorn isn’t a social butterfly, but he does fine when visitors come over – as long as they don’t try to engage with him directly. His ideal adopter will be someone who respects his boundaries, moves at his pace, and is okay with earning his love slowly but surely. If you’re a cat-loving human with a quiet home and a heart big enough for a little dog who just needs time and understanding, Popcorn might just be your perfect match.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Birdie is a 23-lb Chihuahua mix who made her way to Utah after landing on the euthanasia list at a crowded shelter in Texas. Now, she’s soaking up her second chance — and she’s ready to find her forever person.Birdie is as sweet and affectionate as they come. She absolutely adores people and will nuzzle right into you for pets and attention. She loves toys and chews, and she’s a natural on the trails — the perfect size for adventures and car rides. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and easy to live with. Birdie does prefer to have her space when it comes to food and would do best as the only dog in the home. Birdie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200. Applications are not first-come, first-served — we focus on the best match for each pet. Story
Hi there! My name is Nacho. I am a small chihuahua mix and true to my breed I am the perfect mixture of sassy and sweet. I can be a little timid with new humans but warm up quick with treats. I take pride in making my foster mom laugh every day with my antics. I get so excited when I see my people and will get zoomies all over the house. I enjoy a nice morning walk around the neighborhood and then I am quite content just hanging out around the house. I love to snuggle up on the couch too. I am indifferent to dogs my own size but big dogs make me incredibly nervous and cause me to be a little snappy. I bark a little at people coming and going but am otherwise a perfect little house guest. Crate trained and potty trained. So a home with only little dogs or no dogs is preferable. If you are looking for a little spice and laughter in your life, I am definitely your guy. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. ALL CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Meet Alfie – the confident, playful little guy who’s ready to charm his way into your heart! Alfie may not know exactly how old he is, but he sure knows how to have fun. With his puppy-like energy and bold personality, he’s always up for wrestling, chasing, and playing with his dog pals. Whether he’s zooming around the house or chewing on a bone (or anything else he can find!), Alfie brings a lot of spunk to the table. When he’s not having fun, you’ll find Alfie curled up in your lap or snuggled under the covers, soaking up all the warmth and affection he can get. Though he’s confident and friendly around people, Alfie can get a little bark-y when he feels like he’s being denied a treat, toy, or attention. He’s also a bit of a cheeky fellow, always on the lookout for something new to chew on – so keep an eye on the floor!Alfie is house-trained to use potty pads (he’s pretty good about it!) and has access to a dog door, though he’ll need some work on leash manners and possibly a bit more training on consistent potty habits. He’d do best in a home where he’s not left alone for long stretches, as he loves having a dog buddy to keep him company, especially if the humans are busy. He’s a dog that thrives on companionship, whether it’s playing with another dog or cuddling with you. His ideal home? A household with another dog to share the fun with, and people who are ready to shower him with love and attention. A home with older kids who can respect his small size would be great, too!Alfie’s playful energy, cuddly nature, and unique personality make him a little bundle of joy. If you’re looking for a sweet, confident companion who’s always up for playtime and snuggles, Alfie might just be the one for you!Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Meet Patches – A Sweet, Senior Gentleman Looking for His Cozy Forever HomePatches is a 14-year-old, 14-lb Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a wonderfully mellow vibe. He’s the definition of a laid-back companion — his favorite pastime is napping, whether it’s curled up on his pillow, his pet bed, or tucked into a cozy corner. He’s independent too, often trotting off to his crate or pillow throne when he’s ready to settle in for a snooze.Fully housetrained, Patches is great at letting you know when he needs something, usually with a single polite bark if he wants to go outside, or if he’s feeling hungry or thirsty. He absolutely loves being scratched and petted, especially under his chin, along his ears, and down his back — he’ll melt right into your hand.Patches is a peaceful little guy who gets along well with both dogs and cats. He’s calm and tolerant, even around dogs who may not be the best at socializing, though he’s not afraid to assert himself gently if needed. He enjoys hanging out in the yard with his foster sibling but isn’t too interested in toys — napping is definitely his top hobby! He’s happiest when his favorite person is nearby but is content to relax on his own without needing to follow you from room to room. Patches would thrive in a quiet, low-key home where he can spend his golden years soaking up love, lounging in comfort, and being your easygoing companion.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
