Story
Hi everyone! My name is Snoopy and I am a Chihuahua, Miniature Australian Shepherd mix. I'm a 14 pound ball of energy! My perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. I'm always up for an adventure in nature! I love jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards we can relax and snuggle on the couch. I'm very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, we can play fetch or tug of war with my favorite squeaker toy. We can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. I dislike walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for me and makes me prefer the safety of home. I'm also sensitive to certain noises and will alert bark. I've been wearing a remote controlled citronella collar to help when I get overwhelmed with barking. I'm protective of my home, especially with strangers. Once they walk through the door , I will bark, growl, and nip at them. What helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. Sometimes, I can be reactive towards other people or dogs while on walks, but it's mostly because I am fearful. A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: Experienced dog owners that can work with my reactivity and can get me the necessary training No young children A home located on a quiet street away from heavy traffic A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses I'm shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect my boundaries. However, I can be comfortable with them over time. ##1867517##

Lars 505-999-8036She loves to be pet and is very calm normally. She does take a while to warm up to people. She seems to have a little trust issues probably as a result of where she was rescued from. She had since opened up a lot and is friendly but will go on guard when new people come around.

Story
Meet Dolce – the sweet and sassy little princess who's ready to find her forever home! At 4 years old, Dolce is as sweet as her name, with a gentle and affectionate nature that will melt your heart. Whether she’s snuggling under a cozy blanket to escape the chill or enjoying belly rubs, Dolce knows how to live the good life. Though she’s got a calm demeanor, don’t let that fool you – when she’s with her dog pals, she loves to let loose with some zoomies and roughhousing, followed by a well-earned nap. She’s a confident girl who can stand her ground when needed, especially with bigger dogs, but is overall friendly and loves to be around people. Dolce is potty pad trained (and very faithful to them), but she’ll also venture outside if the weather’s just right (no cold, wind, or rain for her!).Dolce’s perfect home would be one where she’s not left alone for long stretches. She’s a loyal companion who wants to be near her humans or, ideally, have a small dog buddy to keep her company. A home with older, dog-savvy kids would be a good fit since she’s mindful of her size and has a bit of a sensitive back. This little lady has no problem showing affection – and she expects the same in return! If you’re ready for a cuddly, gentle soul who knows how to enjoy life at a slower pace, Dolce just might be the perfect match for you. Story
Meet Popcorn Shy sweetheart with a heart of goldPopcorn is a small, low-energy pup who’s come a long way from a rough start in life. At just 10 pounds, this 7-year-old Chihuahua is the perfect size for cozy cuddles—and cuddle he will! Rescued from an abusive situation, Popcorn has spent the past year learning to feel safe and loved, and he’s blossomed into a deeply affectionate and loyal companion.Once Popcorn decides you’re his person, he’s all in—snuggled up beside you on the couch, keeping you company while you work, or happily trotting after you during play. He’s crate trained, house trained, and perfectly content free-roaming while you’re out during the day. He stays calm when left alone and doesn’t have any separation anxiety.Popcorn currently lives with several other dogs and does well with them, though he prefers slow introductions and a bit of space at first. He also loves cats—he’d happily be best friends with a feline buddy. He’s not a high-energy pup: a short walk and a little playtime are plenty for him. He doesn’t chew or dig, only barks when someone passes by the window, and walks nicely on leash. He’s polite and easygoing with guests once he’s had a chance to warm up.Because of his rough beginnings, Popcorn was very sensitive to fast movements and unfamiliar handling when first rescued, and he did react fearfully in those early days. With gentle care, consistency, and trust-building, he hasn’t shown any concerning behaviors in over a year. He just needs a little patience to feel secure.Popcorn would do best in a quieter home with adults or older kids who understand how to give a shy dog the space and kindness he needs to open up. He doesn’t need a yard and is perfectly happy in an apartment. His favorite thing? Being close to you. If you let him, he’ll happily nap on your head just to be near. If you’re looking for a loyal little buddy who will reward your patience with deep, unconditional love, Popcorn just might be your perfect match.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Hi! I'm Lucky, and you would be very lucky indeed to have me as your forever dog.I'm an approximately one and a half year old spayed female pug, maybe? mixed with adorable cuteness.I'm completely house trained and I know how to use a dog door, and I rarely bark.I love to chase cats, so unless your cat is super confident and won't run from me, it might be best if I don't live with cats.I love to play and play and play some more. I need another dog that can keep up with me and that appreciates my rough and tumble approach to playing.I also need to live with older, dog savvy children. To meet Lucky, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application.
