We don’t know her history, but we’ve learned a lot about her in the past few months. This little girl just wants to be loved. She is very territorial and needs work being around people and other dogs who she doesn't count as her family. She needs a very good introduction to other dogs and will resource guard her people and space. She is looking for a home that will provide her with safety and security, but who will also teach her impulse control and will socialize her. She would likely be happiest as an only dog. A warm lap where she can be cuddled and loved is all she really wants. She is so sweet with her family members, but has a hard time with strangers, so a quiet home without many visitors would be great for her. Weighing in at just 10 pounds, I might be small, but I’ve got a big personality packed into my little frame! I’m a bit shy around new people, but once I warm up, I absolutely love my humans. I’m crate-trained and working hard on my potty training, too! I get along well with other dogs and kids, but I’d prefer a home with kids ages 12 and up. If you have met any chihuahuas before you know that’s pretty typical. When I warm up to people I’m a real gentleman! I love my people. I want to be with them all the time. I love sleeping and snuggling with them under cozy covers. I am great with other dogs, at least dogs my size. I haven’t been around any big ones. But I think if they’re gentle with me, we could be friends for sure. I get along with cats too! Sometimes I try playing with them but I’ve never managed to get them to play back. I love toys, chewing on bones, and sleeping. When I trust that everything is okay and I won’t get hurt, I’m basically a mellow guy who likes to chill 24/7. Like I said earlier, I can be a little shy. I’ve never ever been aggressive, but younger kids might scare me a bit. I’m looking for a house with no kids or older kids. I do go outside to potty, but my foster mom still puts a belly band on me. I like food, the occasional walk/sprint in the backyard, and a nice cozy blanket. If someone is snuggled with me in the blanket, that is even better! I take a minute to feel comfortable with people, but once I warm up, I think I’m pretty easy. Older kids would be better for me since I can be a little jumpy. I’m really good with other dogs but I don’t love cats. I sleep in my crate at night like a champion and sometimes during the day when my foster parents are at work. I know how to use a doggy door, but my foster mom says I need a potty-training schedule so that I don’t have accidents. Maybe she just doesn’t understand my cues yet. I blame her. I am 15 months old. I weigh 13lbs. I am listed as a chihuahua mix and foster mama thinks the “mix” part is pug. She says “have you ever met a pug? He has a pug personality!” I don’t know any pugs myself. Unless I am one, I guess. But if they are fun and energetic and playful like me, I’m IN! Let me tell you about myself. I’ll just do a quick lap around the yard first! Okay anyway. I have a good amount of energy. Like, I’m not going to drag you on marathons or anything, but let’s GO! Let’s do something! Let’s play, let’s walk, let’s bark at squirrels! I’ll go anywhere with you and I’ll be a good boy, too! I love all the humans I’ve ever met. I like doggos, too! Big ones, little ones, I’m happy to meet all of them! Not all of them are happy to meet me…probably an energy thing. I’m good in my crate for the most part, but if people are around or dogs are playing I’m *definitely* going to have FOMO. I’m working on potty training. I’m doing a good job. I wear a belly band in the house to keep me from having accidents. I’m small but I’m wiggly and I have better things to do than sit still while you dress me! My foster mom says I have to wear a coat outside. It takes 2 people to put my coat on because YOU GUYS I DON’T NEED IT! Altho it nice to run around the snow in a nice warm coat. I love to give kisses and I’m actually REALLY good at snuggles, but I might need to take a break from snuggling to run around. Playtime > snuggle time. Unless I’m sleepy, of course.
