Story
Hi everyone! My name is Snoopy and I am a Chihuahua, Miniature Australian Shepherd mix. I'm a 14 pound ball of energy! My perfect day involves hiking through a forested trail or exploring a rocky beach. I'm always up for an adventure in nature! I love jumping over logs and walking through shallow creeks. Afterwards we can relax and snuggle on the couch. I'm very affectionate and love giving kisses! Post nap, we can play fetch or tug of war with my favorite squeaker toy. We can end the day with a peanut butter kong and some belly rubs. I dislike walking on streets with heavy traffic, especially when buses and unmuffled cars drive by. The noise is stressful for me and makes me prefer the safety of home. I'm also sensitive to certain noises and will alert bark. I've been wearing a remote controlled citronella collar to help when I get overwhelmed with barking. I'm protective of my home, especially with strangers. Once they walk through the door , I will bark, growl, and nip at them. What helps is meeting new people while on a leash. It shows me they are friendly and safe. Sometimes, I can be reactive towards other people or dogs while on walks, but it's mostly because I am fearful. A good trainer and dedicated adopter can help me overcome my fears.  I'm not crate trained but have used a pen. I'm working on the pen being my safe space. I do very well at the veterinary clinic and have gotten compliments for my sweet nature. I also do well getting my nails professionally trimmed.  I am neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. What I need: Experienced dog owners that can work with my reactivity and can get me the necessary training No young children A home located on a quiet street away from heavy traffic A gated backyard. I absolutely love running and can run for hours! My fast, agile body would be amazing at agility courses I'm shy and nervous around other dogs, especially if they don't respect my boundaries. However, I can be comfortable with them over time. ##1867517##

Story
Meet Popcorn A Tiny Dog with a Big PersonalityPopcorn is a 10-pound Chihuahua with a big heart and a soft spot for cats. At first glance, you'll notice how adorable he is – but this little guy is more than just a cute face. Popcorn is looking for a patient, experienced home that understands the unique needs of a senior pup who’s had to figure life out on his own terms.Popcorn has cataracts and limited vision, so he startles easily – especially if he's woken up abruptly. For this reason, he’s not a fit for homes with children or a home that has many visitors and will need a calm, quiet environment where he can feel safe. Once he trusts you (and that might take some time – think weeks or even months), he’ll allow gentle pets and might even sneak in a snuggle on his terms. He’s very food-motivated, which helps with building trust, but he’s also protective of his meals and treats, so he must be fed separately from other pets. Popcorn loves cats and would absolutely thrive in a feline-friendly home. He’s cautious with dogs but can coexist peacefully after a respectful introduction.Popcorn isn’t a social butterfly, but he does fine when visitors come over – as long as they don’t try to engage with him directly. His ideal adopter will be someone who respects his boundaries, moves at his pace, and is okay with earning his love slowly but surely. If you’re a cat-loving human with a quiet home and a heart big enough for a little dog who just needs time and understanding, Popcorn might just be your perfect match.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Story
Terra is a 7-year-old female Chihuahua mix full figure 19-pound little lady who loves to snuggle in your neck. She definitely needs to lose a few pounds so we are working on that, slow but sure. This little gal became a part of the CAWS family from an out of state shelter bursting at the seams with her time running out. She just got spayed and had a couple mammary tumors removed while she was under. Terra gets along wonderfully with everyone in the foster home, big and small, male and female. She is totally house and crate trained but her 2-legged people work from home so she does not have to be crated too often. She loves cuddling with her 2-legged people and 4 legged canines on the couch and sleep with them, but totally okay to sleep on the floor in a dog bed as well. She gives gentle kisses and hugs sitting in your lap up to your neck. This little lady is the most wonderful, precious, loving and sweet, adorable dog ever. She radiates sheer delight and gentleness. She's also pretty quiet. This angel has utterly turned out to be a little gem, dang near perfect. Terra needs to go to a home with a yard so she can meander and wonder, take her time to do her business. Terra just wants to find her forever family and be safe for the rest of her life. We do not know how she is with children but recommend she go to a home with older kids. If you are interested please reach out for a meet and greet. Terra will make the greatest most wonderful companion and be a keeper of your inner most secrets.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Hi there! My name is Nacho. I am a small chihuahua mix and true to my breed I am the perfect mixture of sassy and sweet. I can be a little timid with new humans but warm up quick with treats. I take pride in making my foster mom laugh every day with my antics. I get so excited when I see my people and will get zoomies all over the house. I enjoy a nice morning walk around the neighborhood and then I am quite content just hanging out around the house. I love to snuggle up on the couch too. I am indifferent to dogs my own size but big dogs make me incredibly nervous and cause me to be a little snappy. I bark a little at people coming and going but am otherwise a perfect little house guest. Crate trained and potty trained. So a home with only little dogs or no dogs is preferable. If you are looking for a little spice and laughter in your life, I am definitely your guy. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal.
