Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet El Nina! This sweet little girl was found pregnant and was never claimed by anyone. We don’t know her history, but we’ve learned a lot about her in the past few months. This little girl just wants to be loved. She is very territorial and needs work being around people and other dogs who she doesn't count as her family. She needs a very good introduction to other dogs and will resource guard her people and space. She is looking for a home that will provide her with safety and security, but who will also teach her impulse control and will socialize her. She would likely be happiest as an only dog. A warm lap where she can be cuddled and loved is all she really wants. She is so sweet with her family members, but has a hard time with strangers, so a quiet home without many visitors would be great for her.   Apply to meet me at https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 4:51 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello! I’m Remus Lupin, but my nickname is Lu :) My foster mom thought I looked like a cute baby werewolf since I have long limbs, wavy hair, and a big ole silly smile with my little teeth. I am a 9 month old, male chihuahua mix. What mix, you may ask? I say adorable, my foster family thinks maybe mini Aussie mixed with Pekingese/Chihuahua. I am still a puppy, so maybe my fur will relax some but I think it makes me extra cute! Whatever I am, I am full of spunk and sweetness. I just want to be with you and play! I like playing with my foster family including the humans and foster fur siblings. I had a hard start to life, so I am extra grateful to know there are kind and loving humans! Sometimes men and boys make me nervous, but once I can tell you’re safe I am all good and ready to party! I am a pup of many talents - including walking on my back legs, playing keep away from my fur friends, sliding under baby gates, running like I’m a kangaroo, and making all sorts of funny facial expressions. I am good in my crate when my foster family is gone, and I am so excited when they come back! It’s great to be able to be free to go in and out of their dog door whenever I want. Otherwise, being let out every few hours would work for me. I love to walk and exercise, but I won’t be sad you if I don’t get it everyday as long as I get play time and love. There’s nothing better than a nice snuggle session on the couch after a fun day of playing and running. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My name is Maddie Poppins and I am a 1 year old chihuahua mix. I weigh in at 15lbs and people say my tri color coat is just fabulous. I am a timid little girl…new things make me quite nervous, as do loud things, fast things, small children things, etc. I could use some confidence building, which will start with a safe home and lots of love! I have done very well with my foster mom. She helps me feel safe and I have really started to blossom! We guess it’s time for me to find my own permanent mommy to love now. Like most scared pups, I do great in my kennel. I might submissive pee a little when I get scared of new things, but I am doing great with potty training. I am also good with other doggies of all sizes and would thrive with a confident dog friend in my forever home. I will not do great with kids under about 12, since they are so fast and noisy. I haven’t met a cat, but I would probably be fine with one. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there! I’m Princess Pixi, an adorable, 1.5-year-old female Chihuahua with the silkiest fur you’ll ever feel. Weighing in at just 10 pounds, I might be small, but I’ve got a big personality packed into my little frame! I’m a bit shy around new people, but once I warm up, I absolutely love my humans. I’m crate-trained and working hard on my potty training, too! I get along well with other dogs and kids, but I’d prefer a home with kids ages 12 and up. People often compare me to a squirrel because I love to zip around the yard like a little ball of energy! And I have a serious obsession with collecting things for my “den.” Yep, I’m a bit of a thief. Don’t be surprised if you find socks, pens, coasters, toys, straws, or even matchbooks tucked away in my crate—I’m not picky about my treasures! I’ll need a patient and understanding home that can help me come out of my shell. With some time and love, I’ll be your loyal, quirky companion. Can’t wait to meet you! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Temor! Hi! I’m Temor—and if you know French, you know that means fear. I’m a scared little guy that’s had a rough few months. I was found as a skinny stray and brought to Rescue Rovers, where I’ve been learning to trust again. But let’s be honest, that’s hard. While I am fearful, I am very gentle and not aggressive. I’m a male that’s almost 3 years old. I love other dogs and having one in my future home to help me feel comfortable and safe is kind of a big deal.  I love to play with my dog friends and with toys as well. I’m extremely food-motivated. You can probably win me over that way. Since I was starving before I was found, I don’t have much self-control and will get to food any way I can, whether by tipping over the garbage can or jumping in the cat room to eat their food. I use the doggy door like a champion, but my foster mom says I don’t know why I’m using it. Could you help me figure out this potty-training thing? I’d probably do best with no kids or older, dog-savvy kids who know how to give me time to adjust. I think I’m making myself sound like a lot of work, but I know I’m worth it! I’d happily snuggle with you through this long winter and for life! Story
Meet Sandy, a delightful 4-year-old chihuahua mix who’s ready to fill your life with warmth and joy! Weighing in at just 12 pounds, this little sweetheart has faced some challenges, but her spirit shines brighter than ever. Sandy once had a wonderful home filled with love, and although her journey has been a bit bumpy since then, she’s now found her happy place in a cozy foster home. Sandy has a heart full of love and just wants to be close to her people. She adores going for walks and feels the wind in her fur during car rides. Playtime is her favorite—whether it’s fetching with her human pals or having fun with her doggy friends. A little caution is needed, though; if startled, she might get a tad nippy, so she’d prefer a home without cats and kids under 12. This precious girl is also quite protective of her loved ones, taking her role as a little guard dog seriously. While she may greet new faces with a bit of sass, a gentle introduction along with some tasty treats will help her warm up. Like many small pups, she’s a bit nervous during thunder or fireworks, but a tiny dose of trazodone will help her feel safe and sound. Sandy is quite the explorer! She’s clever and curious, so a securely fenced yard is essential for her adventurous spirit. And get ready for some giggles—watching her zoom around with her foster siblings will surely bring a smile to your face! With her food-driven motivation, Sandy quickly mastered the dog door in just 30 seconds, showing how eager she is to embrace her new environment. At the end of the day, all Sandy truly wants is a forever home filled with love—a family of her own where she can give and receive affection. With her sweet nature and loving heart, Sandy is ready to be your perfect companion, bringing joy and snuggles to your life. Will you be the special family she’s been waiting for? Sandy has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Sandy, please complete an adoption application on our website (uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Cathy at 801-598-0771 or email cv-sandy@hotmail.com.

Story
Meet Bambi! This tiny 7-lb. Chihuahua, about 3 years old, is a sweet girl who has so much love to give! Between her big ears, red and white coat, and gentle demeanor, it’s surprising how deer-like she really is. Bambi loves everyone, especially her people! She’s also good with dogs and kids (hasn’t been tested around cats). Even though it took her a little longer to warm up to her male foster, they have become great friends over just a few short weeks. Bambi’s chihuahua nervousness shines through when meeting new friends, but she quickly warms up and just wants affection and a lap to sit on. Though a little rambunctious during greetings, she soon settles in and just wants to snuggle in a blanket near her people. She’s getting used to the concept of personal space — all she wants is to smother you in love and kisses. Bambi has spent the last few weeks with her BFF, Tinkebell. Though not an officially bonded pair, being together gives them confidence and they are a great support to each other. They can be adopted together or separately. If they don’t stay together, Bambi would do best in a home with another dog. It has helped to have a friend to keep her company when her humans are away. Bambi doesn’t know a lot of commands like sit and shake but has fairly good recall and is eager to please. It is unknown how Tink does in a kennel solo, but she is content kenneled alongside her new bestie, with only occasional whining. Like all new pups, Bambi will need to be shown where to go potty, but after a couple of initial accidents at her foster home, her housetraining has been spot on! Bambi deserves all the love in the world. Her gentle sweetness might just be the secret ingredient your home needs! Check her out on Instagram @bambi_tinkerbell_the_fosters. Bambi has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. Meet Tinkerbell or “Tink”! This tiny 7-lb. chihuahua, about 4 years old, is a spunky sweet girl who has so much love to give! Story
This little lady is Edith. Edith is a 10-ish Chihuahua, but don't let the age fool you. She is full of spunk and attitude. She weighs roughly 7 lbs., but she doesn't realize how little she is. Edith is not afraid of anything or anyone. She will tell you exactly how she feels or what she wants (she is very vocal). Edith will be the first to greet you and insist you pick her up and give her loves. She is such a cuddle bug. If you are winding down for the day, she will crawl into your arms and gaze into your eyes, letting you know she's happy and comfortable. When it's time for bed, Edith will climb under the covers and won't move until it's time to wake up. Edith loves walks, loves her toys and treats. Edith did have a dental and had several teeth extracted, so soft food is best for her. She has a heart murmur and needs to take a pill every day and needs to be on a special cardiac food. The good news is you do not have to hide her heart medicine in cheese or a pill pocket because she thinks you are giving her a treat and will take it right from your hand. Edith is getting the hang of potty training and she is potty pad trained as well. She really needs a home with bigger dogs or a home without other pets. She hasn’t been cat tested, but she is little jealous of smaller dogs and tries to put them in their place. Edith would be a great companion for a single person or couple who works from home or is retired. You couldn’t possibly ask for a more loyal and affectionate little buddy. Edith has been spayed, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our online adoption application at www.uaaf.org. For more information call/text Cathy at (801) 598-0771 or email cv-sandy@hotmail.com.

Story
Hey there, future family! I’m Gilly, (some call me Golden Gilley) and I’m on the hunt for my furever home, which I’m told I may just find this pawliday season. If quirky is your thing, I have a strange aversion to hard floors. My dream in to live in a home with carpet or rugs so I don’t have anxiety walking through the house. I used to be a stray, and when I ended up at the shelter, my previous humans didn’t stick around. But hey, that’s your golden opportunity to be my new best friend and give me the love and patience I deserve. I’m still figuring things out and taking my time to warm up to new faces. Give me a bit more time, and I’ll be your snuggly sidekick in no time! I have learned to LOVE sleeping in my foster mom’s bed. I did have a little eye surgery recently to fix a wound from my stray days. It left a small bulge on my eye, but it doesn’t hurt, and I can still see—there is some vision impairment, but I do well getting around. I get along with other dogs, cats, and respectful kids. So if you’re looking for a laid-back buddy who won’t overwhelm you with kisses but will surely warm your heart, I might be just the guy for you. Let’s start our adventure together! Gilly has been neutered, is current on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Gilly, please complete an application on our website (uaaf.org). For more information, call/text Randee at 801-232-8157 or email randeekrichardson@gmail.com.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi my name is Fauxy, I’m a very handsome 9 year old, 11lb. Pomeranian mix. I’m a very easy-going, sweet companion. Some of my favorite things include going for walks, laying in the sun and taking naps. I’m crate trained and house trained as long as I get consistent potty breaks. It does take me some time to be comfortable with new people but, once I’m comfortable I do really well. Because of my age I would be better with older dog say kids. I’m good with other dogs although, I prefer a home without cats.
