Story
Buffy is perhaps the cutest, super buff little lady ever! She was a bodybuilder in her past life for sure. She loves other dogs and is currently fostering with multiple pups and humans too. Buffy was VERY shy of humans and would hide away, but now she likes to hang around and even sleep in a human bed. She is ready to start receiving affection soon but has been hands off for the most part. Buffy needs a patient savior to be her roommate and eventually her BFF! She is spayed and vaccinated. If you are interested in Buffy and would like to give her a try, please contact colleen@startrescue.org Her adopter will need immediate access to a secure yard straight from their back door, AND another dog to help show Buffy the way! Buffy is 1.5 years old.

Story
Meet Nacho! Nacho is a 3 year old, tiny, bundle of love (4 lbs) searching for the perfect family! Like many dogs, Nacho grew up on the streets of Mexico. He is also insanely adorable and bursting with a big silly personality. Nacho loves making and playing with new dog friends and playing with his toys too. He LOVES to be warm and comfortable, and he is potty trained too! He's an adventurous explorer, always discovering new things around the house and backyard with keen curiosity. He doesnt need walks and he simply loves being in a safe house with a yard. He’s still learning to express his affection with humans and we know from experience that with time, he WILL eventually allow himself to be loved, pet, and snuggled. For now, it is hands off and encouragement with treats and kindness. Nacho is looking for a home where his people will give him time, and let him come to them when he is ready! He is neutered, vaccinated, and ready to begin his new life. Please do not apply unless you understand that he needs TIME. By that, we mean weeks or even months. Some take longer than others...some tame up real fast! If you are interested, please contact colleen@startrescue.org

Story
Dodger came into our lives in January of 2024 from a Mexican rehab organization. He is a shy guy but very loving once he warms up. We have two kids, so he is used to chaos. He’s very loyal to his family, but takes a long time to warm up to strangers. His only defense is to growl at people he doesn’t know. He has never bitten anyone and is otherwise very gentle. We are too busy to give Dodger what he needs. He needs several walks a day to ensure he goes to the bathroom outside. He isn’t great at letting you know, so just stay on it and it will be fine. He is a sweet boy and I hope we can find him a home that he can thrive in.

Story
Looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who loves both humans and cats? Meet Zoey: A Sweet and Loyal Companion Zoey is a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighing around 25 pounds. Shes been a cherished member of our family since she was a puppy. Zoey is a homebody who loves cuddling, staying close to her humans, and playing with her favorite balls. She incredibly loyal and well-trained. Zoey thrives best in a home without children due to limited experience and past incident with another dog that attacked her. However, she absolutely loves cats! She grew up with a cat and knows how to peacefully coexist. Zoey doesn't bother cats behaves calmly around them, sometimes even acting like a cat herself. Zoey would do best in a loving, attentive household where she can enjoy daily walks, have a backyard or play space, and receive plenty of love and attention. She also enjoys sleeping in bed with her humans but not necessary and will be happiest in a dog and child-free environment.

Story
Prepare to have your heart melted! Meet Tostada “Toasty” McNugget, a charming and resilient 10 pound, approx 4-month-old puppy. Toasty is pure joy with a sweet, snuggly personality. His huge, expressive ears are captivating, and his sparse fur and bare belly suggest he may be part Mexican Hairless in addition to his obvious adorable Chihuahua, the shelter thought he may be part Doxie too! The shelter he was brought to as a stray thought the scarring on his muzzle was from his fellow liter mates as often will happen when there is a scarcity of food. It doesn’t bother him at all, and we think his scars give this handsome boy a ton of character—think Harrison Ford or Jason Mamoa. Toasty is a confident boy, unfazed by most things! He is calm when meeting new people, is totally chill riding shotgun on errands, shopping, or exploring new terrain – even the torrential rain hasn’t dampened his spirits! Toasty plays exceptionally well with both dogs and cats, and he would love to join a home with another animal or two! He's obsessed with squeaker toys, loves fetch, and is extremely food-motivated. Toasty is ready to bring endless love and laughter to his forever home! Whether you’re relaxing at home or adventuring out-of-doors, this pup is ready to fill your life with endless giggles and undying affection!  Whomever adopts this lovely pup is going to be one lucky adopter! The other details: Puppies will be spayed/neutered at the approropiate time at one of our contracted Veternary Clinics. They will be microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives. Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $450 and covers on going vaccines and spay/neuter.  Toasty is being fostered in Longview, WA. You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at  https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog  .
