Story
Meet Dolly! Dolly is an 11-year-old sweetheart with a heart full of love and a tail that still wags like a pup’s. This happy, chill girl has experience living with older adults and another small dog, and she brings a gentle, calming presence to any home. She’s a true sun-chaser who would love a yard to lounge in, and when she’s not basking in the sunshine, she’s happiest curled up on your lap or snuggled on the couch. Dolly would do well in a quiet home—whether with a small, calm family or older adults—and she’s open to sharing her space with other friendly dogs. Dolly is low-key, loving, and just grateful to be near you. If you're looking for a mellow companion with lots of love to give, Dolly might be your perfect match. We travel to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA  or Brattleboro, VT for the eastern Canadian border)! Our pups travel in comfort with 24/7 care on our USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans. You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,200 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Story
Hi, I'm Prancer, a best friend, beloved family member kinda guy.. I am 7 years old, 8.5 pound of happy, adorable long legged little Chihuahua guy. I am a fun. loving boy that love cuddles, walks, exploring the yard and lying on the couch. I am equal parts snooze and cruise. Prancer is fostered in Cascadia, OR, about an hour from Eugene, Corvallis, Salem, Sisters. 1.5 from Bend and about 2 hours from Portland and Newport. We will meet you part way if you come from afar, if we are able to. He is an all time rescue favorite. Just the sweetest guy. This little man is house trained and knows several training cues. He is off leash recall trained. He walks off leash by your side in safe places. He gets along with other small dogs and loves dog friendly cats. He cannot be around children even as visitors as a child was allowed to mistreat him. Prancer is neutered, has had two dentals in his life. He is vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed, and is on flea and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $400. A great home and his must haves include: 1. An owned or stable renter home with a securely fenced yard. 2. Adopters who are not gone long hours. Prancer has had enough of long hours alone and too much crate time. We seek a home that will not crate him. 3. Folks who will treat him as a family member and who will include him in their fun activities. If you meet all above criteria, we welcome an inquiry or an application from you. To inquire, please email: awoofovermyhead@gmail.com with "Prancer" in the subject line. Please include some information about yourselves and how Prancer will fit into your life. Please leave a phone number where you can be reached. To apply, please complete the following application on a tablet or computer: https://forms.gle/74EQE3QKWv18bygw6 Non-cigarette smokers only, please. Thank you.

Story
Meet Sandy Cheeks! This sweet girl is a gentle soul. She is an angel, getting along well with her foster siblings- feline & canine! She loves rubbed toys, especially her rubber ball. She is learning fetch, she loves to get the ball, and she will let you take it from her. Her favorite activity is hanging outside, stopping to sniff the roses, listen to the birds chirp, and watching cars pass by. We can see her hanging out on the porch watching her favorite people play in the backyard, garden, or have a backyard BBQ! Could her favorite people be you & your family? Watch Sandy here: https://youtu.be/m13MltGP2z8?si=ZoSG78T1rerDcoQd Her foster says one of the funniest things about her is the zoomies she gets in the backyard. She tucks her tail and goes flying! She plays with her foster sibling, who is a 45lb male. She tends to ignore her kitty siblings, which is a good thing! Sandy has even done really well around the neighborhood kiddos— ages 6 & 8! Sandy sleeps in her crate at night like a champ. She also eats in her crate! Her favorite toys are the ones that make crinkle sounds fun enough! Tug-of-war is the game of choice for Sandy right now. She loves to sunbathe when she’s not zooming or sniffing around in the yard. Sandy is a big snuggle bug and would snuggle all day if you let her. Sandy is still a little nervous about new people and guests, but she just keeps to herself, and has never had a negative encounter. Just give her some time to warm up and see her beautiful personality bloom! Adopt Sandy here: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/67ceed476baa771127012f28 Questions?
