Story
Hello World! My name is Fibi Dove and look at my BEAUTIFUL hair!! I mean look at it! It is all coming in and getting longer and longer!! And I love it!! It may seem a little weird that I am so happy to have hair, but it has been a long-time coming in. Let me tell you, my story. It was a dark and stormy night in a little town in Texas.... Well, I don't really know if it was dark or stormy, but it was in Texas. Anyhow, I was picked up by the dog police in a little town and I was very naked with infected itchy skin that made me nuts. I didn't have very much hair on my body and from my looks of me, it had been that way for a long time. The rescue pulled me from the dog place, and I started on my journey to get well. They tried this med and that antibiotic and this itchy treatment and that shampoo, but nothing worked until they figured out that I am probably allergic to beef and chicken, and who knows what else. My beautiful hair started to come back in when I started eating Salmon and lentil food and getting medicine for allergies from the vet. Finally, the itches were going away!! Yay!! I also was found to have the dreaded heartworms which I have undergone the slow kill treatment for, and I am all finished with that as well. Heartworm medications will be sent with me to continue my treatment routine for a year. During my many vet visits, it was found that I have a 5/6 heart murmur that is being treated with a pet heart medicine for life. I didn't have any symptoms, but they wanted to keep my heart strong, so the medicine was ordered. Because I was on the street for who knows how long, I am a little possessive of my food bowl at feeding time. I live with 3 other chihuahuas and we all eat out of separate bowls in the same room. I will growl at the others if they finish before I do and come to look in my bowl for more. But at 7.5 pounds, I am not much of a threat to anyone, but they listen to me and back off. I also live with cats and several other non-chihuahua dogs, one is 97# and I get along with them all. Personality wise, I am very sweet to people. I love to share you bed or lap and now that my skin is healed up, it is a lot comfier for me and for you to put me there. I do know how to go in and out the doggie door and when that isn't available to me, I have been known to use the potty pads that are out for the 18-year-old chihuahua that lives here with foster mom. Because of my medical history, I will need an adopter who understands my needs and is willing to follow through with my medical routine. If you think you can put up with giving me the pills, which I love in canned cheese on top of my kibble and green beans, then please fill out an application and let's talk! I will be waiting and growing more beautiful hair! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

I.am.LEGGO!! No, not the kind you step on in the middle of the night with many expletives!! I am the GOOD kind of Leggo :) No foot pain, all love and cuddles! I am a great boy, I came from a sad situation and I am so so glad my "mom" saved me! I was left at my foster home's gate in my crate, after her neighbor fled her abusive marriage. Apparently all of my friends (4 other dogs) were killed by the abusive husband :( and I was saved..... So, let me tell you.. I LOVE my FOSTER MOM and her DOGS and KITTIES!! And GLORY is my FAVORITE friend! We are kind of bonded and we want to be adopted into a non abusive home with a really really nice family! Glory came from a neglectful situation so she loves having me around to play with and to cuddle with and I give her confidence that she needs. We are an adorable couple and we are ready for YOU! So PLEASE adopt us!! Local adoption- together- is $400 (in TX) Out of state adoption- together- is $800 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Mouse is my handle, and I love my name! Now, my foster mom calls me Mouse turd sometimes....but she doesn't really mean it! She loves me, even when I act like a turd 😀 I am only about 4# right now and was found only about 1#! Just a teeny boy with a cute mug and plenty of swagger.... I am such a good boy, I love my doggy friends and keep them busy playing. But don't get me wrong, I sleep plenty! And I eat plenty and repeat..... I am likely going to be a medium sized dog full grown. Maybe 20-25#?? I came from a place where my mother was not spayed, so she was pregnant all the time :( However, the day I was saved, my mama was spayed!!! So, no more "accidental " litters, just a quiet life for my mama. I am almost ready for my forever family!! I will wait for you to find me, so hurry up!!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Ace is a 13-lb mix breed pup. He probably some chihuahua, maybe a little Boston terrier or pug in there. He has the cutest snoot and will give you a smooch after he gets to know you. He came to POOCH from Marion County Dog Services after being picked up as a stray. He was very shut down in the county shelter but he quickly came out of his shell at the quieter POOCH kennel. He warms up to people quickly. He loves other small dogs and could do well with bigger dogs given a slow introduction. He is building his confidence and sometimes uses his voice when he wants attention when in his separate space or when he sees something strange and new to him in the distance. He is very food motivated and is learning how to check in with his people when he is feeling nervous. Ace seems to be house broken (although we can never say this with 100% certainty in a kennel environment) and it took him 3 weeks to learn he can jump on the couch at POOCH. The youth have taught him to love his harness, sit, go to bed, and are currently working towards comfort in his crate. Ace’s favorite activity is snuggling up next to his human friends. He will take a nap in a fluffy warm bed or entertain himself with a small soft stuffy. Ace has really blossomed at POOCH and showed us his sweet personality. Characteristics: Loves other dogs his size. Could do well with larger dogs with slow introductions Friendly but shy at first Learning about the big world and working on his confidence Great on leash Enjoys relaxing in laps and will playing with soft toys Not a fan of stainless steel bowls, does better with plastic or less shiny bowls THINGS TO BE AWARE OF Can be a little shy at first Can be reactive with unknown things on leash. Easy to redirect and to reassure. If you are interested in Ace Domino, go here to learn more and put in an application. https://www.pooch.org/acedomino

Story
Adoption Fee: $400Weight: 10.2 lbsArrival date: 12/18/2024Microchip ID # AwaitingMeet Bandit! This sweet boy came in with two other small dogs after their owner passed away. We don`t know much about their life prior to arriving to the shelter, but it doesn`t appear that they had much of a chance to explore outside of their home. Bandit was very scared in the shelter so we found a loving foster home that is working with him to become more confident and comfortable. If you are looking for a little dog who needs a lot of love ask to meet Bandit- he`d really appreciate it! If you would like to meet Bandit please email fostercare@safehavenhumane.com!
