Hi my name is Lyle!I'm a sweet little guy, looking for my forever lap to lay in.I can be shy at first but do warm up and am very loving once I do.I am a typical little dog and can be very anxious in new situations so I need a home that will give me the time I need to thrive. The ideal home for me would be somewhere calm, where I can open up and show my true caring personality. If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 6pm (summer hours). If you'd like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets' profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Please follow the instructions on each pet profile.

Story
We welcome you to meet Howard the troll! He is an elusive creature, rarely seen unless you try to cross his bridge, or sit at the dining room table that he's living under. Much like a real troll Howard can be somewhat hostile towards humans. Howard would much prefer to be out in wilderness, he honestly could have been a feral cat living in a colony somewhere wild and free. Howard loves other dogs and is great with cats but, unless you are some kind of super human who really works for his love he's likely to avoid you. He’s also much like a teenager who doesn’t want anything to do with you, unless of course he wants something. Howard didn’t have the best start to life, he lived his first few years in a hoarding situation. That is why he feels most comfortable with other animals and thinks humans are jerks. I mean really, can you blame him? With the right super person the best of Howard will come out. Howard needs a home that understands that he may never fully come around, that he won't be their lap dog or snuggle buddy. He would love to just live in a corner of you house, spend time in your yard, play with your dogs and eat your food. If you are looking for an awkward roommate who you only see every now and again, Howard is the weird dude you're looking for!

Story
Sweet pumpkin girl had a really rough start to life which makes her not trust people right away. She so totally wants to be loved. Once she trusts you she will give you little kisses and come up to you. She does not like being picked up but will listen to commands like crate or go inside/out side. She really is a sweet girl. She is great with other dogs and cats. Kids are fine if they don’t chase her. She would love to just hang out with her people.

Hi I’m pickle! I may be small but boy am I mighty! If you are looking for a big dog in a little dog body, I’m your girl! My foster mom says I’m fearless! I love to play with all my foster siblings who range in size from small to large. Being small does not stop me. Whatever my people are doing I’m right there with them in the middle of it. I think everyone is my best friend. I’m working on potty training currently and doing pretty well for a young girl. I’m currently being fostered in California but transport is available. Just have your people call my people.

Great energetic small pup looking for a nice quiet family with another small dog! Please contact us to submit an application directly at Kzyrnr17@yahoo.com or info@dogdiggityrescue.com or https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HTX/Exotic/Other Thumper is a 4 mos (DOB 3 Jan 24) and 7.5 lbs Chi/Terrier mix. HEY!! YOU!! LOOK AT ME!! Have you ever seen anything cuter??? Listen, I need a home and you’re lookin’ for a pal so here we are! I’m the one! What are you waiting’ for??? Click on ADOPT and get with it!! I survived a hoarder situation with my 3 siblings, but I came out of it happy and cuddly and friendly. And playful and funny, and I’d love a little playmate pup but no kids cuz I’m scared of being picked up. I think I’m a chihuahua mixed with something bigger so maybe I’ll be about 15 lbs. I’ll be real shy at first, but give me steps and I’ll be up on your lap in no time. Might even sleep with you someday if you’ll let me. Courtesay post for the Helotes Humane Society. L & S Dog Diggity Rescue is headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate. Please contact us to ask about our adoption process and our adoption fees.

Story
Let me introduce you to Milo, an eight year old Chihuahua mix at 16.5 lbs, a bit over weight but he is walking more so it will be coming off. Milo loves walks above anything else, except food. He does well on a leash. He gets along well with all dogs I have seen, (although he often will bark at them), and my two cats. Milo is active and does some half jumps that might be too much for small children.Milo has been an easy going, cuddly, house trained dog. His expressive face goes from curious to hopeful to excited and joyful. It has been a real pleasure to have this guy around. He should be ok in a thick walled apartment, as long as he receives some walks everyday and is with people for most of the day, if he is alone he will howl. He does have some anxiety about being alone and has howled if no PERSON is there. He does have an odd leg (Luxating Patella) but it doesn't slow him down, He just lifts it up and runs around 3 legged. If you would like to meet Milo please fill out the application on OFOSA.ORG and his foster mom will contact you. By the way my adoption fee is $280 but I am all up to date, chipped and neutered.
