Story
Quick Facts Name: Ogok Age: 1.5 years old Gender: Male Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Chihuahua Mix Color: Black & Brown & White Weight: 3.9kg All About Me Hi, I’m Ogok! I’m a lively and affectionate one-and-a-half-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighing 3.9kg (8.6lb). I may be small, but I have a big personality and an even bigger heart. I love meeting new people and dogs, and I’m always excited for my next adventure. I’m looking for a home where I can get plenty of love, playtime, and care as I prepare for an important step in my health journey. My Personality I’m incredibly friendly and social—I love being around people and will happily come up for pets and cuddles, even if we’ve just met. I enjoy being the center of attention and will lean in for affection whenever I get the chance. My playful and curious nature makes me a joy to be around, and I’m always eager to make new friends. Social Skills With other dogs, I’m just as outgoing as I am with people. I love greeting both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and will often invite them to play. I haven’t been around cats before, so I’m not sure how I’d react to them. When it comes to food, I don’t mind people being near my meals, but if another dog gets too close while I’m eating, I might give a little growl to let them know I’d like my space. Energy and Activities I have a high energy level and need plenty of exercise and playtime to stay happy. Running, playing, and going on walks are some of my favorite things. Once I’ve had enough activity, I can settle down and relax, but I thrive in a home that can keep up with my enthusiasm for life. I’m great on a leash and don’t pull, making me a fun and easy walking companion. Health and Special Considerations I was recently diagnosed with Grade 3 patellar luxation in both knees, and I will be undergoing surgery soon. My future family should be prepared to help me through my recovery and ensure I get the care I need to stay comfortable and active. My Ideal Home  I would love a home where I get plenty of attention and engagement. Since I love both people and dogs, I’d be happy in a household with another friendly pup, but I can also thrive as the only dog as long as I get lots of love and playtime. My ideal family would be patient and understanding as I go through my surgery and recovery, helping me regain my strength so I can continue being the energetic and happy dog I was born to be. Special Notes I have a huge personality packed into a tiny body! I love people, enjoy making dog friends, and have a zest for life that makes me a joy to be around. With my upcoming surgery, I’ll need a bit of extra care, but once I recover, I’ll be ready to run, play, and love with all my heart. If you’re looking for a small dog with a big spirit, I might be the perfect match for you. I can’t wait to find a family that will love me as much as I’ll love them! ##2308670##

Story
Meet Denver – The Ultimate Cuddle Bug! Denver is the kind of dog who makes you fall in love instantly—just ask his foster mom in Mexico, who knew right away that he was a total sweetheart. Now in Canada, he’s proving to be just as lovable! This little guy is all about the snuggles and will gladly accept all the pats, belly rubs, and cozy naps you have to offer. He’s a champ on the leash, walking calmly like a seasoned pro (as long as there are no puddles—those are clearly suspicious). Snow, on the other hand? No problem! Denver gets along just fine with other dogs socially but would prefer to be the only pet in the house. He also has strong opinions about squirrels, though we suspect the squirrels started it. Cats are also a little too much like squirrels so woios not be good in his home. While he’s mostly a laid-back kind of guy, Denver does have occasional bursts of excitement—think joyful zoomies and some enthusiastic pant-leg nibbling. He’s still figuring out this whole "toys" thing, but he’s discovered the joy of chewing on a small bone, so we’re making progress. As for house training, well… let’s just say Denver needs a bit of a schedule. He knows outside is an option, but sometimes those small rugs just look so inviting. With consistency, he’ll get the hang of it. At bedtime, Denver is all about the cuddles and prefers to be very close to his person. He might even insist on spooning. Personal space? Never heard of it. Denver would do well in a home with or without other pets, as he’s easygoing and doesn’t cause any drama. His foster family will keep an eye on him for any new quirks, but so far, he’s proving to be an absolute gem. Denver is currently accepting applications, that his foster family will review. If you’re looking for a snuggly, slightly quirky, and totally lovable companion, he just might be your guy! Denver is being fostered in Richmond Hill. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet Howie! Since arriving in Canada, Howie has shown that he is a total sweetheart—gentle, a little shy, and full of potential! While he’s still figuring things out, his playful and curious side is starting to peek through. Like any good chihuahua, he loves burrowing into a pile of blankets or snuggling up with his humans on the couch. He’s got a great appetite and has a special fondness for liver treats! Howie is still adjusting to the chilly March weather—one minute he’s happily trotting along, and the next, he decides he’s had enough and needs a royal escort .His adopters will need to help him build confidence on walks and keep a close eye on his little nose, as he’s quite the scavenger. He’ll also need to bundle up in cozy sweaters and jackets until he gets used to Toronto’s colder climate. Since he’s a delicate little guy, he prefers a harness over a collar for walks. So far, Howie seems to be potty trained! He’s had only one small accident and isn’t in a rush to get up in the mornings—perfect for someone who loves to sleep in! He has been happily snoozing in bed with his foster family, all wrapped up in cozy blankets. Loud city noises (like big trucks and sirens) can startle him a little, and he’s still deciding how he feels about bigger dogs. While he coexists well with his foster's small pup, he hasn’t initiated play yet. Toys also don’t seem to be on his radar just yet, but with time and encouragement, that may change! So far, Howie hasn’t barked at all, and the only little grumble he’s made was when he was snuggled up with his foster and their dog got a bit too close—he just loves his people and wants to keep his cuddle spot safe! Through his entire journey from Mexico to Canada, Howie was a perfect travel companion—quiet, calm, and easygoing. He is going to make a wonderful addition to a patient and loving family who will help him grow in confidence, shower him with warmth (both emotional and literal!), and enjoy every adorable moment with him. Howie is currently being fostered in Toronto and is waiting for his perfect match! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Layla has been with me ever since I rescued and bottle feed her as an abandoned 5 week old puppy. She is 7 now and as difficult as it is, she needs a new home. Life has taken unexpected turns for me leading me to move to the city for the first time in Layla's life. She has always been a generally anxious baby (queue in chihuahua energy). In the suburbs and in rural areas where I lived over the past decade she dealt well, only being troublesome around children and vacuum cleaners. These days she is insurmountably stressed. I have tried CBD and various types of behavioral/ reactive training to ease her anxiety about all city things but to no effect. She has prescription anxiety medication which she very rarely needed to take when her environment was peaceful. With that, I am looking for an experience dog human who lives in a calm place to offer her a forever home. I would love for her to be the only dog but she has done well with other dogs that are peaceful.

Story
Quick Facts Name: Pporami Age: 4 years old (born January 2021)  Gender: Female Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Pomeranian   Color: White & Beige Weight: 4.2kg My Personality Hello, future family! I’m Pporami, a small but mighty bundle of love and sweetness. At first, I can be a little shy, but give me just a moment, and I’ll be snuggling up to you in no time! I love to be close to my humans—just knowing you’re nearby makes my little heart feel safe and warm. If you pick me up, I’ll happily settle into your arms and enjoy every second of it. I’m a gentle and affectionate girl who enjoys both quiet moments and fun adventures. I may not always be the first to approach new friends, but once I feel comfortable, I’ll follow you around like your tiny, devoted shadow. My Social Life •   With People: I love my humans and feel most at ease when they’re around. I might whimper a little when you leave, but as long as I know you’ll be back, I’ll be okay. I warm up quickly and love gentle pets and snuggles. •   With Other Dogs: I’m polite and friendly when meeting other dogs, though I prefer to observe rather than jump into play. I don’t mind sharing my space and get along well with my furry friends. •   With Cats: I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them! On My Walks I’m a wonderful little walking buddy! I don’t pull on my leash and love to walk right beside my human. Exploring the world outside is exciting, but I also know how to stay calm and enjoy the moment. Whether it’s a short stroll or a longer adventure, I’m happy just being with you. Life at Home I’m a well-mannered girl who loves spending time with my humans. I feel safest when I can see you nearby—your presence makes me feel calm and secure. When riding in a car, I prefer to be held in loving arms rather than in a kennel. I might make a few little noises if I’m alone in my crate, but with time and patience, I’ll learn that it’s a cozy and safe space for me. I’m a good eater and never cause any trouble with my furry friends. I’m a true little angel who simply wants to be loved and cherished! My Ideal Home I’m looking for a loving family who will adore me just as much as I’ll adore them! My perfect home would have: •   A Caring Companion: I love being close to my humans, so a family that enjoys snuggling and spending time together would be wonderful for me. •   Patience & Understanding: I may need a little time to fully open up, but once I do, I’ll be your most loyal and affectionate friend. •   A Gentle Routine: Whether it’s quiet evenings on the couch or peaceful walks in the park, I thrive in a calm and loving environment. Special Notes If you’re looking for a tiny, sweet, and loving companion to brighten your days, I might just be the perfect match for you. I can’t wait to find my forever home and share all the love I have to give! ##2311599##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Riya  Age: 5 years old (born January 2020)  Gender: Female Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Pomeranian   Color: White  Weight: 4.65kg All About Me Hi, I’m Riya! I’m a five-year-old Pomeranian with a fluffy white coat and a big personality packed into my tiny frame. Weighing 4.65kg (10.2lb), I’m full of love, energy, and charm. I adore people, enjoy making new friends, and love being the center of attention. Now, I’m looking for a forever home where I can be spoiled with love while continuing to learn good manners. My Personality I am incredibly affectionate and love meeting new people. Whether I’ve known you forever or we’ve just met, I’ll happily trot over, lean in for pets, and even roll over to show my belly. I enjoy being held and will gladly snuggle into your arms. I haven’t had much experience with young children, but since I love attention, I’d likely enjoy their company with proper introductions. I am a true lap dog and crave human companionship. I love being close to my people and can get anxious when left alone for too long, so I need a family who understands that I may need time and training to feel comfortable when separated. Social Skills I’m just as friendly with dogs as I am with people. I love greeting other dogs and enjoy playful interactions. However, when it comes to food, I prefer to eat in peace. If another dog tries to take my food, I might give a little growl to let them know I want to eat my meal undisturbed. To avoid conflicts, it’s best if I’m fed separately in a multi-dog household. I haven’t met cats before, so my reaction to them is unknown. Energy and Activities I have a moderate energy level—I love outdoor activities, but once I’ve had my fun, I’m happy to relax and rest. I enjoy my walks and like to explore, though I do pull on the leash sometimes when I’m excited. A little leash training will help me improve my walking manners. I have an impressive ability to jump, so my new home should have high gates or barriers to keep me safe. Training and Habits I have a strong appetite and will try to snatch food if given the chance, so structured feeding and portion control will help me maintain a healthy diet. I may also try to steal food from other dogs, so mealtime supervision or separate feeding areas are recommended. When I want something—whether it’s attention, treats, or to go outside—I can be quite vocal. I might bark or whine to express my desires, but with patience and training, I can learn to communicate in a calmer way. I am mostly house-trained and prefer going potty outside, but I also know how to use pee pads when necessary. I am crate-trained and settle down well when inside my kennel. My Ideal Home I would thrive in a home where I get plenty of attention and companionship. Since I struggle with separation anxiety, a family that can gradually help me feel secure when left alone would be ideal. A household with another friendly dog could be a good match for me, but structured mealtimes and supervision will be important to ensure peaceful coexistence. I need a secure environment with high fences or gates due to my jumping ability. My future family should also be mindful of my strong food motivation and be prepared to guide me toward healthy eating habits. Special Notes I’m a sweet, affectionate, and lively companion who loves being around people. While I do have a bit of a stubborn streak when it comes to food and attention, I am eager to please and can improve with the right training. If you’re looking for a lovable lap dog who will shower you with affection, I might be the perfect match for you. I can’t wait to find a home where I’ll be cherished forever! ##2311595##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Sweety  Age: 2 years old (born January 2023)  Gender: Female Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Parti Pomeranian   Color: Soft Gray & White  Weight: 3kg  All About Me Hi, I’m Sweety! I’m a one-year-old Parti Pomeranian with a soft gray and white coat and a heart that belongs entirely to my people. Weighing just 3kg (6.6lb), I may be tiny, but my love for humans is enormous. I come from a breeding facility where I was given special treatment, but now, I am looking for a home where I can finally be loved for who I am, not just for my appearance. My Personality I am incredibly affectionate and people-oriented. Whether it’s cuddling, being carried, or just resting in your lap, I am happiest when I’m close to my person. If I feel like I’m not getting enough attention, I will let you know with a little demand barking—but once I’m in your arms, I settle down and often drift off to sleep.Unlike many small dogs, I am not particularly curious or adventurous. I prefer sticking close to my trusted human and don’t feel the need to explore too much. Social Skills I don’t have any aggression toward other dogs, but I also don’t care much about them. I may politely say hello to new dogs, but I won’t engage in play, and I generally keep to myself. If I’m being held and another dog comes too close, I may let out a little growl to protect my space. I have lived with cats before and don’t react to them. I am indifferent to their presence, so I could likely live in a home with a cat, as long as they respect my space. Energy and Activities I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy going on walks and getting fresh air, but once I’ve had my exercise, I am perfectly content to relax and nap. My small size makes me easy to carry if needed, and while I may pull on the leash a little, I generally follow my person well. Since I come from a breeding facility, I sleep a lot more than the average dog. Whether it’s in your lap, in a cozy bed, or snuggled up in a blanket, I love my rest time. Training and Habits I am fully house-trained and can use both pee pads and outdoor spaces for bathroom breaks. I also settle well in a kennel when needed, making me an easy travel companion. I don’t guard my food or toys from people or other dogs. However, I do prefer not to share attention—if another dog comes too close while I’m being held, I may growl to remind them that I want my human all to myself. My Ideal Home I am looking for a quiet and loving home where I can be the center of attention. Since I am so deeply bonded to my people, a home where I won’t be left alone too often would be ideal. If you want a lap dog who loves to cuddle and shower you with affection, I am the perfect match. While I can live with other dogs, I prefer to be the only pet or in a home with calm companions who won’t invade my space too much. A home where I can get one-on-one attention would make me happiest. Special Notes I am an incredibly gentle, affectionate, and beautiful little dog who thrives on human companionship. My small size and sweet nature make me a perfect lap dog, and I will bring endless love and warmth to my future family. If you’re looking for a tiny, loving, and devoted companion, I might be the perfect match for you. ##2319210##
