Story
Minnie is approximately eight years old and a tiny 4.6 pounds. She does have a birth defect in her left eye. Aside from sometimes just needing to be cleaned with a little wipe this does not bother her and does not need any medication. Unfortunately, she also does not see that great out of her good eye. Minnie is not blind but we are assuming she will be within a couple years. She does see out of her right eye however you can tell she does not see well out of it. Minnie is a very capable girl. She still has a lot of life in her and does not act like an old lady, even if she looks a little like an old lady. She is very alert and mentally aware, smart, attention and treat motivated, adores being held, cuddled, loved on and will absolutely let you dress her up or carry her in a purse 🙂. So she is a great dog for someone who may travel a lot or would just like to take their doggie into the office with them . Great with other animals, and well mannered older children. No toddlers please due to her size, age and impaired vision. Minnie is such a doll! Rescued from Kirby animal shelter. She is just full of love and life! Story
Hunter is a little mix apx 4-8 months and apx 3.6 pounds. We are not sure what he is mixed mixed. We are going to assume Chihuahua mix. Maybe Chi/boston terrier based on color pattern . Hunter and his two siblings came as baby orphans from a south Texas shelter. Since we do not know, mom or dad and all three babies look very different. It is extremely hard to tell or what he is going to look like full grown and what his size she will be. We are going to assume 12-15 pounds fully grown. He is so social and smart , sweet and adorable. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
Tato -Special Needs She is apx 4-8 months and has two deformed from limbs confirmed as a birth defect. She is apx 4 pounds and we are guessing she will be 7-8 pounds fully grown. Tato does NOT know she is a special needs pup so if you are looking for a quiet , little baby to carry around in a sling and she will just lay there gazing into your eyes, YOU GOT THE WRONG GAL! Tato is hyper, silly, full of energy, a bit of a picky eater, chatty, literally will try to climb a baby gate with nubbie wings for arms, plays with all the dogs, chases your feet, flies through the house on her carpet runs, uses the dog door and pee pads pretty well. She wants to be a puppy, not a project. Tato is ready for her family, for adventure and love and best friends. We are looking for a family with a fenced yard preferably as she loves outside play time. Someone capable to attend to her needs weather that may be wheels in her future, non slip carpet runs to play on in the house, strollers , etc . Special needs babies will change your life and your way of thinking, Tato will humble you at her resilience to not be kept down by the cards she had been dealt. She is an adorable and spunky girl ready for her new start and her happily ever after. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
Buzz. Apx 3 years old and 9.8 pounds. We are looking for an experienced adopter. Buzz is a really sweet boy but bad at first impressions. He has a gorgeous brindle coat and once he gets to know you, he is an extremely loving dog that gets very attached to his people. He was an owner surrender, and all he ever knew was the house he was in since he was born. So Buzz is very scared of all these new people and new places. He is never aggressive and never bites. he will growl and bark at strangers and dart around, he will run away from people he does not know. So he will need to stay on a leash and harness even inside of the house for a few days until he gets used to you. A VERY SECURED backyard is a must for him . He is a gentle boy. He is just afraid and lacks confidence and socialization. Great with cats and dogs, no small children please. He will need to use a belly band for the first week or two while he learns his good indoor potty manners. It was a rough couple days when Buzz first got here, he needs time to decompress, but after about a week he was just a happy typically lap baby. He needs some work but he is so loving once he bonds with you, he is worth the effort. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. To get approved please visit our website www.texaschihuahuarescuecanada.org to fill in an application to adopt.

Story
File #25-036Current Foster Location: Seeley's Bay, ON *Please note that we do not typically adopt outside of a 2 hour radius from the foster dogs current location* Please note that Hope is on seizure medication (Phenobarbital) and will need to continue on it once adopted. Let me just start by saying: Im ridiculously sweet. Like, kiss-you-right-on-the-nose-before-youve-had-coffee sweet. I came with a little tiger toy, and guess what? Were in a relationship. I carry him everywhere. Dont judgeweve been through a lot together. My typical day? Breakfast, meds, and a solid hour of playtime (Im small, but I party like a toddler on a juice box). Then its nap oclock. After lunch, Im zoomin around with the dogs, the cats, or whatever's moving. We nap again, obviouslybeauty sleep is essential. Then, after the kids go to bed, its dinner, meds, and snuggle city. I love other dogsbig, small, whatever. Ive got no fear. Another dog in the house would be awesome, but not required. I even play with the cats, and we chase each other around. Im fully housetrained, and I dont mind the crate at allespecially when youre working. When you leave, Ill do a tiny dramatic howl, like oh noooo, but then I chill out. Apartment living might be okay, depending on how you feel about a little goodbye serenade. Walks are not my thing. Im a chihuahua, not a sled dog. Ill strut a few houses down the street and look amazing doing it, but cold weather? Hard pass. Please admire me from the heated indoors, thank you very much. Im a shadowyour shadow. Wherever you go, I go. And at night? We cuddle. Its non-negotiable. Now, about my health: I take seizure medication twice a day, no biggie. Ive never had a seizure while in foster care, but its important you learn what to do, just in case. Also important? You being okay giving me my meds because I need them like I need squeaky toys and love. So if you want a tiny snuggle goblin with endless energy, killer toy loyalty, and the worlds cutest nose kisses hope has arrived. Literally. Its me. Im Hope.
