Story
CHARITY is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Meet Charity, apx 2 years young and 8 pounds. She is such a scared and nervous girl. Good with other dogs and cats. She bonds quickly with other dogs her size and has been around dogs from 5-25 pounds of all ages. She is nervous around large hyper dogs. We have never heard her bark and she has been here a month. She will not just come to you, but you can baby talk her. Once she is cornered or in her safe space or her favorite bed she will reluctantly allow pets and allow you to pick her up. She does not bite us, but I would not 110% say she would never bite, because she is so fearful I do think if she was cornered, especially by someone very intimidating or small young children that try to grab her very quickly, I can see her nipping possibly. That being said we have had her at the vet, we have done baths, vaccines, ears, nails, give her kisses, hold her, sing her songs, force our love upon her whether she appreciates it or not 🙂 and she has never tried to bite us. She is just scared, freezes and has eyes as big as saucers . She always tries to find a place to hide if she is uncomfortable. She has a sweet nature and soul, we can tell she will be a timid but loving companion with some time and trust. We really think in a home environment she will grow and blossom into a loving furbaby that sits on the couch with her humans and cuddles up in bed. It’s just going to take some time, love and patience. Charity may hold a lot of baggage from her past. She was found pregnant and gave birth at her finders home and all 5 babies died within 24 hours. Then she came to us. We are trying so hard to heal her broken heart and she has come a long way but she really needs a home and a family to reach her true potential and to really feel safe and like part of a family. No young children please and a fenced yard would be ideal. She is not ready to walk on leash and harness but I know one day she will try and probably follow her mama everywhere . Please give her a chance. ❤️ Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
Ellana. Apx 5 -6 years young and 12.5 pounds. She is a funny gal with some quirks , but is also very funny , lovable and silly . Ellana has her moments though and can be a tad on the bipolar side. She was rescued from ACS after being on the euthanasia list, before that being rescued from a hoarding situation in which the house caught fire and animal control confiscated the dogs that made it out alive. So this gal has been through it! She has an adorable waddle, a snaggle tooth, an interesting pomchi coat, and a personality to boot. She had a very large mammary mass removed that was cancerous. Ellana has a little bit of a “tick” sometimes we will call it bc we don’t actually know what it is and when she went to the vet she of course did not do it there. Once in a very great while she will do a funny thing with her mouth that looks like how a fish breaths out of water. She will do it once or twice and then not do it at all for days or weeks and then some days she may do it several times. She did it more when she first arrived so we are wondering if it is like a nervous thing 🤷‍♀️ of course I can also never get this on video so I’m sure my description does not do it justice, but this does not bother her. She hardly never does it and it appears to be just some sort of neurological a little tick. Ellana takes a minute to warm up to new people and she does bark at strangers and give them the side eye, however she is not a biter or an aggressive dog. That being said if Ellana felt really cornered or in danger , I would not completely put it past her to nip so we are definitely not going to put her in home with children. Ellana is VERY sweet and loving it just takes her a day or two to get used to new people and places . She did great at the vet, no issues. We can bathe her, do her nails etc. but if the handy man comes over or a stranger she will try and “protect you” and she puts her hackles up and barks and tries her best to act intimidating, but as soon as they get down and say hi and are there for a few minutes, she is fine and probably by lunch will be in their lap. Ellana gets along well with cats and dogs however she “moms” the dogs . She is a bit of the boss and alpha here but not in a way that she gets in fights and she never attacks dogs or anything but she is confident and a tad on the bossy side, she loves to play and has several friends here she is in a yard space with 9 other dogs . She loves to play with them but when she is done and ready for her nap she has no problem letting them know. She will also break up other dogs fights or if she thinks the other dogs are playing too rough she goes and “moms” them. She is the mama bear of the group for sure. She is a very good girl, she has been through a lot and she deserves to know what a real home, a real family is like. She is beautiful and so so soft. She also looks at you and pays attention to you like she is really listening to what you are saying lol. Ellana is a good catch, she just needs the right home. Story
TINK & TABITHA are currently being fostered in TEXAS Tabitha is the pointy earred Chihuahua. Apx 10 years and 7.8 pounds. She is a bit on the thin side and we’ve been putting some meat on her little old bones. She has a love for cheeseburgers! 😂 🍔 Tink is apx 8 years old and apx 6.8 pounds also a tad on the thin side. She is a chihuahua terrier mix and has kind of scruffy terrier hair. They were shaved before we got them, I am not sure why, so their coat is growing in. They are VERY picky eaters! They eat a lot of hot dogs, cheeseburgers and a little kibble but we struggle to get them to eat dog food. These girls although not litter mates, are sisters. Tink has never known a life without Tabitha and they are extremely bonded. They need a home together. These girls were not well cared for but we know the best is yet to come for them. They both had dentals and blood work. They are doing well for their age but need a little extra TLC. They need stability, love, routine, lots of heating pads and warm sweaters because they are always cold! Lol The girls are 100% pee pad trained. They will walk on a leash but I am not sure if they will want to do that in the winter months 🙂 The girls are typical chihuahuas and when they get scared or nervous they bark. With new dogs and new people they will be quite yappy for a minute but they calm down quickly and are not very barky. They are great with people and animals but just takes them a moment to be sure of them. They are not aggressive. We all adore them and we know you will too! They need you!! 💜 Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
Please read bio carefully. Looking for an experienced adopter or foster. Joy is 21 pounds and 10 months old. We are assuming Chi/Pug mix of some sort. She is a short hefty gal. Joy has hydrocephalus. We are looking for a special needs adopter for her. Preferably someone whom has had hydro dogs before and are familiar with their needs. Joy was born hydrocephalic. Hers is pretty severe however , she is very loving, gets along with other dogs, is very quiet, never makes a peep, really likes attention and affection. She does not spin in circles or have seizures. She has no major neuro issues aside from the typical depth perception of neuro dogs. She even rides well in a car. Joy is a really great dog deserving of a wonderful home. She will bring a lot of joy and love to your home. As hydro dogs do. This week she is even learning the doggy door and using it 50% of the time to potty in her dog yard but like most hydro babies, she is a slow learner. She needs a lot of love and patience . We really prefer an adopter with special needs experience. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. WINTER is currently being fostered in TEXAS. ❄️ Winter is apx 5-8months old and 6 pounds. She was an orphaned puppy at a South Texas shelter. We really have no clue what she is mixed with. She has a long square snout, tiny feet but chunky legs and is short. We are calling her a chi/terrier mix but honestly we have no clue 🙂! We are guessing Winter will be 12-15 pounds fully grown. She is a happy, lively puppy, very squirmy, social and still getting used to rescued life. By her mannerisms we are guessing she was probably living outdoors or was born a stray because she is still figuring out a lot of normal puppy behaviour. She can only go up from here and blossom brighter. Great with cats, kids and dogs. She will definitely need some puppy 101 training. DAX is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Dax is a shy but ultimately friendly boy. Apx 1-2 years young and 6.8 pounds but came to us very thin. He should be closer to 7.5-8 pounds so he needs some good nutrition and extra snacks and he is not complaining about that. 🙂 He is great with other animals. He is not overly barky, he has a very gentle demeanor. Dax is very shy at first and may not just run up to a new human and give them kisses day one but I promise it only take him a few hours to warm up. He is not aggressive, he just runs away and tries to hide from strangers. Within 8 hours Dax was coming to us, climbing up in our laps and wanting attention. It just takes him some time. He is such a sweet kid. He even does well on the wee pads. He just needs some socializing and confidence building. We all just love this baby. He just has the sweetest personality.
