Story
Luma is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Luma does have a cherry eye, but she will be having that removed on June 20th. Luma and her sister Rosalina were owner surrenders. Luma is an all around good girl. Apx 6-7 years old and a chunky overweight 16.5 pounds. Luma needs to be on diet and get exercise. Luma rarely barks. She walks well on leash, she is potty trained, is great with cats, kids and dogs. She is good in the car and has an overall great demeanor. Her and her sister were very nervous when they first came in, but they are opening up more and more every day. Luma is playful and silly at times and more confident than her sister. She is very friendly and although this chapter of her life has been difficult, the best is yet to come and we know that there is a great family out there for Luma. We will send updated photos of her fantastic new look next week Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
PACO TACO is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Paco Taco is apx 2-4 years old and 9.6 pounds. He is a bit of a handful but the most loving boy you will ever find. Have you ever dreamed of having a man that was obsessed with you? Well let me introduce you to Paco, he will probably try to take a shower with you. LOL Paco is a velcro dog and he does have some separation anxiety. Paco Taco is actually quiet once he can’t see you, like if you go to work, he stays quiet and calm until your return, he only cries for a few moments when you leave then settles down. However, if you are home and he can not get to you, such as a shut door, kennel, baby gate, that is when the show starts. The tears, whining and crying is an entire theatrical performance. He’s a big baby. Paco walks well on leash. He has okay potty manners but did mark a couple times when he first arrived, but has not marked again in a while. He holds his potty all night. We do have some natural anti-anxiety medication we can send with him on transport. Oddly enough, he does ok in the car. He is good with cats and female dogs but not the best with dominant male dogs. He wants to be the king of the house. He would do fine with well mannered older children. Paco Taco takes a little patience but he sure will love you past the moon and look at you like you hung the stars. 🌟 Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
SALEM is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Salem is approximately three years old and 8.2 pounds. She is a blue and tan chi, a rare color. Her coat is sparse which is typical of this color pattern as they often have alopecia. She was also covered in fleas, ticks, and poorly cared for. We are not sure which of these have caused the thinning of her coat however, she does not have any sores or open wounds on her body. She does NOT have mange and is not contagious. Her coat may or may not grow in better/thicker. Salem is from a terrible dog hoarding situation where there was over 100 dogs on a property in Caldwell county. The home and property that these dogs lived on has been completely demolished. The owner passed away leaving over 100 dogs. This was a huge rescue mission from both the city along with several rescues throughout the entire state of Texas. We only had space and resources to take four of the dogs from this particular situation, Salem being one of them. She is timid, shy, scared and nervous but not feral. She lets me pick her up now but that took about a week. She doesn't bite or growls and we have yet to hear her bark. She poops sometimes when she is very scared or a stranger picks her up. She will run away from you if she does not know you and will try to hide. She does NOT do well on leash and harness so she will need a home with a fenced in yard or someone willing to put up a pen for her to potty until she learns to walk on leash and harness. Salem does not have a mean bone in her body. She gets along so well with all other dogs and cats. She does enjoy human company although she is a little timid at first we can tell she very much wants to give and receive love. When she is sitting in her bed, I will sit next to her, pet her and talk to her. She will stay there and start to loosen up after a little while and become calmer and enjoy being pet. She lets me pick her up but still cowers a bit and does initiate being picked up, held or pet. She follows us around everywhere and every day she emotionally heals a little more. I can’t even imagine the trauma that this poor little dog has been through at such a young age. She is a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul and a sad story to tell. Luckily, with a little love and patience I know we can make her future so much brighter and I know she will be the love of someone’s life. She has a lot of love to give inside of her. We can just tell. She needs a quiet home. No small children please. Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
DEMI is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Demi is apx 3-4 years apx 7.5 pounds. As you can see her from her older pics, she has gained weight and is looking very healthy. Demi, the cat dog. Demi was rescued from very very bad hoarding situation where she was confiscated for cruelty, with her babies, in a cement outdoor shelter. All of her babies died within the first 24 hours. Demi is a sad case but her fosters have never given up on her. We have had Demi since February. She still does not “need “ or ask for human attention but likes to follow you around, be a part of the family. She will sit next to you and she LOVES her foster fursiblings. She will not walk on leash and harness still and needs a fenced yard. Demi does have good potty manners, taking in mind her foster is retired and home all day so she gets to go in and out several times a day. She is very quiet and demure but has a silly side. She still will not let her fosters pick her up and will run from them. You have to kind of corner her to pick her up and she freezes, but she doesn't bite and is not aggressive. Demi was basically feral when we brought her in and her strides are slow going but nonetheless, she is indeed making them. We are hoping to find her the perfect home that will just let Demi be Demi and come around in her own time. Good with adults? Yes Good with kids? Unknown Good with other dogs? Yes Good with cats? Unknown House trained? Yes Crate Trained? Yes Energy Level? Medium Barker? Yes About Dobby: Sweet little Dobby is still very much a young, energetic puppy at heart. She loves to run and play, and doing her little zoomies, but she is also content to sit with you and snuggle as well. Dobby is a bit nervous of new people, but once she warms up to you, she loves to play and cuddle, and will curl up in your lap for a snooze. She barks at new people, especially men, out of fear and will need some gentle reassurance and patience to show her that people can be trusted. Dobby absolutely loves to play with other dogs! She is very submissive, but she is still very young and full of energy so playing with dogs that can match her energy is best. Dobby would love to have another confident dog in the home to learn from but is also okay being an only doggo. Dobby is learning to enjoy walks and walks well on a leash but is a bit nervous of loud noises still. Dobby is pad trained and is very consistent using her puppy pads. With some training, she could be transitioned to going outside to do her business. Dobby is crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate. Dobby is still very much a puppy that loves to play with toys and is very eager to learn. She is looking for a loving and patient family that will love on her, give her endless cuddles and lots of toys to play with! ***Woof.. Please know that the rescue has posted all the information that they have on me here. As my foster family gets to know me they will post updates, so please check back! If you are interested in me please fill out an application at www.petsaliveniagara.ca/adopt and one of my friends will get back to you within 2 to 5 business days.***"

*This dog will be transported to Grimsby, Ontario once an adoptive home is found*Apply to adopt at rebeldogrescue.com*All adoptions with Rebel Dog Rescue have a 15 day probation period. Read about our adoption process on our website. Glory was surrendered to our partner in Texas last year after she was originally abandoned at a vet's office. She is a senior gal, likely in the 8-10 year range, though we can't be certain of her actual age. She has some vision loss but sees well enough to move easily from room to room and around the yard. She comes when called and wants nothing more than to sit on your lap. Glory loves to eat and mealtime is her absolute favourite. They say that you can't teach an old dog new tricks, but with Glory's food motivation, you just might! She currently sleeps in bed with her foster mom and is the first one to give gently kisses in the morning, signaling its time to get up. With her diminished vision, she is a bit cautious around new smells and environments. She does well in her foster's house with dogs ranging from 4lb to 190lb, except for one little fully blind Pomeranian who she will literally search out to tussle with. She is smart, affectionate, feisty and fun. She is a very sweet little senior pup!Adoption fee: $450 Ideal Home: The ideal home would be a retired person or couple- home all the time who are looking for a snuggle bug who is fairly low maintenance.Name: GloryBreed: Chihuahua mix Age: ~8-10 years Weight: ~10lbSex: FemaleColour: Brown/blackMedical: Missing teeth, occasional cough due to collapsing trachea Good with men: YesGood with women: YesGood with kids 0-11: No, due to vision loss Good with kids 12+: YesGood with dogs: Yes, happy to co-exist with other dogsGood with cats: Unknown, no exposure - but possibly House trained: 90% Crate trained: She will settle, but she has somehow figured out how to escape a crate at one point Resource guarding: None seen Walks on a leash: Needs to learn, as she is only used to exploring the yard Energy level: Low-medium Requires detached/single home: No Separation anxiety: Mild - if she knows her foster mom is home, she wants to be with her Barker: Average

Bean is a 3 year old teacup Chihuahua. He is sweet, loving, and absolutely adorable. He is very tiny at just over 4 pounds. He loves rubs and scratches. He does well with other dogs but is best with smaller dogs. He loves hanging out with cats. We wouldn't recommend a home with young children due to his size. Bean loves to be cuddled and prefers to be carried. He does stay right beside you if he is not in your arms. He is learning to walk while wearing a halter and is working on potty training.  He loves to play with stuffed animals. His best friend is Archie. An ideal home would be where both could live together. Bean is the embodiment of great love coming in tiny packages. ##2183970##
