Story
Meet Muffin, a 7 year old Chihuahua mix that came into our rescue from a QC shelter  Muffin is quite a sweet little girl that could do with some confident building.  While in her foster home it has taken her a few weeks to warm up to her foster mom but is now wagging her tail and wanting attention and cuddles.  Muffin has a bit trouble with stairs and would benefit from a home that was on one floor or an owner that could carry her up and down.  She is pee pad trained but does do her business in the backyard as well. Muffin is a bit overweight and should lose 1-2 pounds. She is also learning how to walk in a leash. She is a very quiet dog with very minimal barking. She will bark when she hears a horn outside or if a new person is visiting but quickly settles and gets on with her day. She is good with other dogs and has a delightful, fun personality.  She has been through a lot with losing her previous family, ending up in a shelter and now in another new environment.  She has taken things in stride as best she can.  We have next seen any aggression with Muffin, not even when having to do eye drops the first week of her arrival  If you are ready to add Muffin to your family, please fill in an application for our review.    November 7, 2024, 8:53 am

Story
Piper and Prudence are an incredibly sweet and loving duo.  Both females, Piper is 5 and Prudence, 11. These two Chihuahuas adore people and once they bond with you, will cuddle up on the couch and roll over for belly rubs. They eat well, sleep well and are fully potty trained!  They love to go for walks, attached to the same leash, hopping along with such joy. Piper also loves to play with toys, pushing a ball along with her nose while Prudence cheeringly watches on. Neither Piper nor Prudence are yappy. In fact, they can be super chilled and will only bark on occasion and for brief stints, typically when they meet new people.  Piper and Prudence belonged to a lovely couple since birth, both of whom have sadly passed in the last year. They were adored and well cared for. They get along well with other dogs, having had extensive experience visiting the doggy daycare and sleeping over, where they are currently being fostered. Full of personality and boundless affection, these two girls will quickly win over any dog lover’s heart, proving to be wonderful companions. More about Piper and Prudence: Medical: Up to date with full vet history, vaccination records and spayed Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Unknown Reaction to New People: Friendly Housetrained: Yes   Crate trained: Yes Good in the car: Yes    November 5, 2024, 10:56 am

Story
MANDO Key Characteristics: • Age: approx 4-5 years old   • Breed: Chihuahua |brown with white|   • Tiny treasure 2.5 kg | on a weight gain journey|   • Very cuddly    • Follows you around the house to be part of everything    • House-trained   • Very Affectionate   • Agile, can do stairs, mild luxating patellas   • Missing right half mandible    • Loves dogs   Mando adjusted very quickly to living with us! He might be the most happy-go-lucky dog we’ve ever known .    While he is missing half of his lower jaw, it does not slow him down. He loves to eat! (Softened food for his comfort.)    He loves going for walks, sleeping on your lap, and receiving affection.    Mando would thrive in a home where his people are home the majority of the time, or go with you wherever you go, as he is very social. He is comfortable in the car but tries to get into the drivers seat, so a good harness and seatbelt is a must.    Mando gets along well with our resident dogs (all small) and will snuggle with them if a human lap is not available. He also displays playful zoomies with them.    When we give attention to our other dogs, he will insert himself in front of the other dog - he just loves attention so much. At night he will sleep in your bed, tucked up close to you.    When meeting new dogs on walks, he is excited, playful and kind. We think he would love to have another like-minded dog to share his forever home with.    Mando has done very well meeting dog-savvy kids (tested with experienced 10+ year olds).    Mando is the happiest, sweetest, most loving boy who brings so much joy into our home .        November 5, 2024, 10:56 am

Story
Meet Minty: Your Future Best Friend! About Minty: Minty is a sweet and gentle 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who has come a long way from her days in a municipal shelter. We don’t know much about her past, but her initial fear and distrust indicate she might have had a tough start in life. When she was first rescued, she was shaking and scared, unsure of the world around her. Personality: Minty is a loving and loyal companion once she gets to know you. Although she was initially wary of both men and women, with time and patience, she has learned to trust and even show affection to her caretakers. She is a bit of a shy girl, especially around men, and may take a while to warm up to new people. However, with gentle and understanding handling, she blossoms into a loving and loyal friend. Living Situation: Minty currently lives in a kennel in Turkey, but she’s ready to find her forever home. She can coexist with cats, though she’s a bit timid around them. She would do best with a submissive and calm dog companion if there’s another dog in the home. Favorite Things: Minty absolutely loves her treats! They are the key to her heart and can help in building trust and bonding with her. Ideal Home: Minty needs a patient and understanding family who can give her the time she needs to adjust and feel safe. Because of her fear of men, she might do better in a household with women or with very gentle and patient men. A calm and peaceful environment would be perfect for her, where she can feel secure and loved. Adoption Requirements: A patient and understanding adopter A calm household Gentle handling and care Preferably a female adopter or very patient males Submissive and calm dog companions (if any) Willingness to give Minty the time she needs to trust and settle Minty can fly to Toronto or Vancouver when she finds her forever home! If you think you can offer Minty the loving and secure home she deserves, please apply; https://www.cheers2paws.org/dog-adoption-form
