Story
If you are interested in SKIPPY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. SKIPPY is one of the most gentle souls in all the universe. He has deep brown heart melting eyes that always seem to be in awe of the big bright beautiful world around him. A couple of his favorite things are cuddle time with his foster family and sunning in the backyard. SKIPPY currently lives in a foster home with many dogs. He is never pushy and has zero desire to be the boss. SKIPPY’s kind, unobtrusive nature will make it easy for him to get along with all resident animals in his forever home. However, SKIPPY would also be perfectly fine as the only pup in the house, so he’s an easy addition to the family. If you are lucky enough to have sweet SKIPPY take a piece of your heart into his paw, he will hold on to it forever! To see even more pictures of SKIPPY, please copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/76fl8xixj60rfhyw0b3bs/AHB_bHWP1rVPd5FePq2DZUE ?rlkey=s96qez6fhllqlykv5nyoksi0t&st=8hhkalud&dl=0 SKIPPY is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. His $540 adoption fee covers his interstate health certificate and the cost of transport to the New England area For an adoption application on SKIPPY click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Available in TX only! Meet Rusty, a charming 6-year-old, chocolate-colored Chihuahua weighing 19 pounds of pure love! This little guy is a big fan of plush toys (though he tends to snack on them, so we're keeping an eye on that!). Rusty loves wearing clothes, not for fashion, but because he's always cold and needs to stay warm. He's house trained, fantastic on walks, and adores all people, especially kids. He's been the star of many outings, including a back-to-school haircut event, where he soaked up all the cuddles. Though Rusty is a bit of a flight risk, he's also a Velcro dog who sticks by your side. Just be mindful of food within his reach-he's a bit mischievous! Rusty is ready to bring warmth, fun, and loyalty to his forever home. Could that be with you? To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. To apply directly for Rusty click the "Apply for Adoption" button. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-467 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. You can text unlimited questions to Petcademy and they'll respond within 24 hours (Monday-Friday).

Story
Welcome Victory to CCPAL Rescue. Victory is a 7-week old Chihuahua mixed pup. She has a flat coat and looks like an Apple Head Chihuahua. She is adorable. She is the smallest sized girl in this litter. She is more subdued, inquisitive, social and very sweet. She has a patch of hair on her neck that runs the opposite direction. Looks a little like a ridgeback ridge. She is small with small feet and will be a small dog full grown. She likes being held and is good with the siblings in this litter. She goes on a wee pad and because of a very nice family they have some small toys that they like playing with. Lollipop is small enough to travel with you in a doggy carry case. She isn’t too vocal at the moment but she is a Chihuahua so we do suspect she will be moderately vocal. She should be 10 lbs or less. She is getting her second Distemper vaccine and will get her 3rd before she is spayed and ready for her forever home. She would be best with children over 8 due to her small size and trust in humans not to hurt her. She would also be best in a home where the person doesn’t work away from home 8 hours a day because she will need to finish her puppy training and be socialized regularly to keep the great personality she now has as an adult. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions.
