Story
Approx. DOB: 7/29/16                 Approx Weight: 20 Lbs Adoption Fee: $200 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!   Petey was with at least 11 other dogs in his prior home.  They lost their rental home and gave up most of the dogs.  Petey is on the chunky side but on a diet. When he came to us he was skin and bones,  complete hair loss on his back and legs.  His fur loss was due to fleas. Poor little guy was a mess. He has always been very trusty of us especially during all the medicated baths he had to get. Petey really likes dogs  his size and others that aren't over 35pds. No super active young ones that expect him to play all the time.      Did you notice Petey's great smile? He is a really happy boy and smiles a lot.     We were told Petey is housebroken, however he is still waiting for a foster home to become open. He never has accidents in his crate and we always send a belly band home with boy dogs.  Check them out online.  They are a great tool in helping boys not mark. We will cat test Petey if needed.    I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible. Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
This is Dash. We've had Dash since he was a baby. He is 6 years old. He is an adult male dog. He is playful, energetic and ready for a new home. Unfortunately, we do not have the time or extra funds to care for him. As a family we ate frequently away from home and we geel he is not being cared for as he deserves. He does have cherry red eye. We were never able to afford surgery to get rid of them.

Story
If you're looking for a low-key companion to sit at home and chill with, Marla is your girl! Marla is a blind older lady but she does not let that stop her! She is full of spunk and personality and loves to explore and strut her stuff. Marla would do best in a more calm environment since she can't see her surroundings and can become overwhelmed if there is too much going on. Marla really is a sweetheart that deserves only the finest things in life through her golden years. All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested (6 months and above,) and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to choose from at the shelter as well. If the pet you fall in love with is not quite ready for adoption, we do offer a $50 hold deposit that will insure you have first "dibs on adoption. Once an animal is available for adoption, we are not able to hold them, as there are so many animals waiting to come into our program. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays. You are welcome to fill out our quick 10 question adoption survey to facilitate a quicker process. This will also start the meeting process for those animals in foster care: Marla is a senior gal with a lot left to give. She is mostly blind but that doesn't slow her down. Marla is sweet and loves the comfort of a couch. If you're looking for the perfect gal to lounge with you, look no further. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/MARQ/Dog

Story
Meet Stan! Stan is a well-read, older gentleman who is, of course, housebroken. We are guessing him to be around 10 years old with handsome salt and cinnamon hair. Stan is a man in charge, like any good chihuahua mix, weighing around 14lbs. He will lecture larger dogs about their shortcomings, so he would do best as an only dog, or in a home with dogs more his size. He doesn't mind cats and understands they are really the ones in charge of things. He does tend to say things like "back in my day, get off my lawn, and these whippersnappers" but we just say "ok Stan, let's go for a stroll." He does love people and loves to be held and snuggled and if you sneak him some treats he leans in for more love. Stan is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. His adoption fee is $30. If you would like to meet Stan please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. He's in a foster in the KC metro, but transport might be available to the right home.
